Please join us in honoring Staff Sgt. Ronald J. Ouellette, 23, a native of Merrimack, New Hampshire, who gave his life in service to the United States and its citizens. Staff Sgt. Ouellette, who was attached to the 42nd Aerial Port Squadron at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts, died Monday from injuries sustained in a single all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) non-combat related accident on the flight line at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Ouellettte was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. “Ronald was a valued member of the Patriot Wing and there are no words that can heal the pain his loss brings,” said Col. Craig Peters, the 439th Airlift Wing commander. Ouellette, who had been in the Reserves for six years, was named “airman of the month” in October 2019 according to his squadron’s Facebook page. His awards include the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Reserve Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award. Our deepest sympathies are with Staff Sgt. Today in history: September 22, 1861 - Flag Officer William Wister McKean, USN assumed command of the Gulf Blockading Squadron in the Gulf of Mexico. In January 1862, the Squadron was split with McKean taking command of the East Gulf Blockading Squadron. He was released from active duty in June 1862. Born in Pennsylvania in 1800, McKean was appointed Midshipman in the United State Navy in 1814. His first cousin was Confederate Admiral Franklin Buchanan. Wilhelm Keitel (1882-1946) was a German Field Marshal during the Second World War. Keitel was the supreme commander of the Wehrmacht and Oberkommando. . Made a mistake. Keitel was born in a village near Gandershiem, Germany on 22 September 1882, he was the eldest son of Father Carl Keitel (1854–1934) who owned a large estate. After his education instead of taking over his fathers estate he joined the Army in 1901 becoming an officer cadet in the Prussian Army and married in 1909. . Keitel served on the Western Front During World War One and fought in Flanders. He became a captain after being wounded couple of times. After the war he stayed in the army. . He rose through the ranks in the 1920s and even became Minister Of War in 1929. In 1933 was promoted to command a division In 1938 Keitel became head of the Wehrmacht. . The other Generals disliked Keitel for being a yes man of Hitler for instance Field Marshal Paul Ludwig Ewald von Kleist describes him as a stupid follower of Hitler and was often mocked. Keitel was described as being easily manipulated and nervous personality. One Officer asked Keitel who he was. Upon finding out he became horrified at his own failure to salute his Superior as he was head of the army. However General Franz Halder said Dont Worry its only Keitel he was generally ignored and Officer bypassed him to salute other superiors. . In 1945 Following Hitlers Death. Karl Donitz became Fuhrer of Germany. Albert Speer reported to have Described Keitel being the yes man of Donitz as he was to Hitler. Keitel signed the second signing of Surrender to the Soviets on 8th May 1945. . Keitel signed and issued orders for example to Kill Soviet Prisoner of War or to kil Jews whether combatment or not. Keitel supported harsh occupation of nations such as In France. Due to this he was senteced Guilty in the Courts on evidence of his signings. He was hanged in Nuremburg Prison in 1946. His last words were call on God Almighty to have mercy on the German people. Extraordinary warriors X: the Eagle of the Eastern front ➡️ Picture of Oberst (Colonel) Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated German serviceman of WW2 as sole recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. Aboard the Ju 87 “Stuka”, Rudel destroyed 519 enemy tanks, 150 artillery guns and even a battleship and a cruiser sunk, along with 70 landing craft and 800 other vehicles. In addition, he achieved 51 aerial victories in other aircraft. He flew 2,530 ground-attack missions, was wounded five times and got his leg amputated in February 1945. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Third child of a Lutheran minister, Rudel joined the Hitlerjugen in 1933 and the Luftwaffe in 1936, where he began his military career as an air reconnaissance pilot, although his legend as Stuka pilot began after the German attack on the Soviet Union in June 1941. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On 8 May 1945 (VE Day), Rudel fled west from an airfield near Prague, landing in US controlled territory, where he surrendered. Later, he emigrated to Argentina, from where he helped Nazi fugitives to escape from Europe, and sheltered Josef Mengele, the former SS doctor at Auschwitz. Official CSUF ALUMNA! I was going to wait until I took actual graduation pictures but that may not be until next year lol so until then I will post my degree. I did it! I have to give credit to my great grandma who stuck by my side through thick and thin and made it possible to balance raising a child as a single mother while finishing school. It saddens me that she is not here today to physically see the degree, but I feel better knowing that her protection and guidance is still there as she is now my guardian angel. I entered in 2016 as a young and naive 18 year old with a undeclared major, I exited in 2020 as a 22 year old single mother with a story to tell of the good and bad and how I overcame so much. I am definitely still learning and growing in this crazy thing we call life, but now it’s with my 2 year old sidekick on my hip and I wouldn’t change a thing. It definitely feels odd to not have to stress over assignments being due on top of work the next morning and running behind a toddler. I heard that it’s a normal feeling you get after graduating so apparently it’s supposed to go away at some point 😂. I often feel like I’m not doing enough and I have to remind myself of what I have accomplished in the span of 4 years. On top of that I was blessed with a way better job months prior to graduating. In conclusion, 2020 has definitely been bittersweet, and the success doesn’t stop here✨❤️. 🚨City of Chicago Allows Restaurant Indoor Occupancy at 40%, Extended Hours for Liquor Sales, Tavern Indoor Occupancy at 25%, Effective October 1 Moments ago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that the city of Chicago will allow restaurants to operate at 40% indoor occupancy (with six feet of social distancing between tables), permit liquor sales until 1:00 a.m., and allow tavern licensees to open indoors at 25% occupancy effective at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1. IRA President & CEO Sam Toia joined Mayor Lightfoot for the announcement. Starting this Thursday: -Restaurants can expand indoor occupancy to 40%. The limit of 50 total customers within one room or space at restaurants, venues and other establishments will remain in place, as will the limit of no more than six people per table. -Indoor liquor sales at restaurants and bars are extended to 1:00 a.m., and hours of operation are extended until 1:30 a.m. Liquor stores, grocery stores and other establishments that sell alcohol to-go through a Packaged Goods license must continue to cease alcohol sales at 9:00 p.m. Bars and tavern licensees without a retail food license may reopen for indoor service at 25% occupancy or 50 people, whichever is fewer. Service remains limited to no more than two hours per party, and customers must be seated when eating, drinking or ordering – patrons cannot walk up to the bar to order. -Bars, taverns and breweries that are reopening indoors must partner with a food establishment so that food is available to patrons at all times (e.g., making menus available and allowing delivery, allowing patrons to order from third-party delivery services). -When dining out at a food service establishment or bar, customers must always wear face coverings while seated, except when actively eating or drinking. This protects employees that may interact closely with patrons. Todays announcement is the result of months of persistent advocacy from the IRA in order to give restaurants and bars the opportunity to serve more people in a smart and safe way. GUCCIO GUCCI: When the name Gucci comes to mind, most fashionphiles conjure the image of Alessandro Michele has dreamed up in the last few years.But long before marquee designers were running the show at Gucci, the fashion house got its start as a leather shop. Born in 1881, Guccio was the son of an Italian leather maker. Guccio was not too keen on taking the same occupational route as his father, so he travelled to London and Paris, where he worked as a waiter, dishwasher and concierge. In London, he worked at the prestigious Savoy Hotel as a lift attendant, and it was during this time that he took note of the beautiful luggage styles that he saw.On his return to Florence , he did follow in his father’s footsteps. The first Gucci shop was founded in Florence in 1921, In the beginning, Gucci’s main business was making saddles and other accessories for horseback riders and the red and green woven stripe , inspired by saddle details. in general many of his designs were inspired by horseracing, and his company quickly became known for its incredible level of craftsmanship.Leather was hard to come by in the mid-1930s, because of sanctions against Italy, so Gucci began experimenting with alternative textiles. This led to the very first signature Gucci print: small interconnected diamonds in dark brown, woven into a tan hemp fabric. In 1932 Guccio created the first loafer shoe with a gilded snaffle, as well as a wonderful selection of luggage ties, shoes and the famous handbags with a bamboo handle was born under similar circumstances in 1947; Gucci artisans were scrambling to find materials towards the end of World War II and discovered that they could use Japanese bamboo to craft unique bag handles . Guccio enlisted his three sons Aldo, Vasco, and Rodolfo to join the business in 1938. The year 1953 is famous for two reasons: the death of Guccio Gucci, and the opening of the first Gucci store overseas. Boutiques started to spring up everywhere, and the glamorous ‘GG’ symbol that is still used today, was created in the 1960s. Today we remember 2nd Lieutenant John “Jack” K. Lundberg of Val Verda, Utah who served with the 534th Bomb Squadron, 381st Bombardment Group Heavy, 8th Air Corps and made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. “2nd Lt. John Keith Lundberg is the embodiment of sacrifice. Known by his nickname Jack, 2nd Lt. Lundberg dedicated his life to his family and country. He was highly esteemed by his peers and deeply loved by his family. Jack’s loss profoundly affected his loved ones. However, for Jack, making the ultimate sacrifice for the United States and freedom was worth the price. Monday 3 December 2018 marked a notable occasion for Jack. He would have turned one hundred-years-old. He could have accomplished much during that time span. Jack had a promising future, cherished ambitions, a new bride, and a devoted family. Despite these, he believed the United States was worth his sacrifice and life. Jack was deployed in the United States for the majority of his service, teaching navigation, but began flying B-17 Flying Fortresses in Europe in May 1944. A little over a month later, on 22 June, twenty-five-year-old Jack was shot down over Abbeville, France, in the B-17 Spare Charlie after it was hit by German flak. We remember Lt. As the ANC in Tshwane prepares for life in the opposition benches, the regional leadership says it will demand that 90% of the budget be dedicated to improving the lives of the poor. We want to restore the dignity of our people by ensuring that qualitative services get to be extended to our people, in particular, those who are located in the townships, chairperson Kgosientso Ramokgopa told reporters. We are going to insist that programme continues. Remember that in the five years we have been in office, we have directed over 90% of the capital budget to those areas of need. Part of the minimum programme is, that no less than 90% of capex programme continues to be invested in those areas so that we are able to improve the quality of life of our people in those areas. The briefing comes a day before a new mayor is elected with no single party managing to obtain a 50% majority. The opposition parties have agreed in principle to work together and form a coalition government which would see the DA leading the municipality. Ramokgopa indicated that despite them not being in charge, they would continue to fight to improve the lives of the poor from the opposition benches. He said the party had a minimum demand programme which it would be working with. We want to say to those who have voted for us and those who chose not to go and vote for one reason or the other that are supporters of the ANC, that the programme will constitute what we call a minimum demand for our people. The demand to create quality decent jobs for our people continues unabated, said Ramokgopa. He added that they had initiated projects such as Tshepo 10 000 which they would ensure continued. We will from the ranks of the opposition ensure that we vigorously pursue that agenda and that will constitute our minimum programme. On September 11, 2020, President Donald J. Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to Sergeant Major Thomas P. Payne, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry. On October 22, 2015, during a daring nighttime hostage rescue in Kirkuk Province, Iraq, in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, then-Sergeant First Class Payne led a combined assault team charged with clearing one of two buildings known to house hostages. With speed, audacity, and courage, he first led his team as they quickly cleared the assigned building, liberating 38 hostages. Then, upon hearing a request for additional assault team members to assist with clearing the other building, Sergeant Payne, on his own initiative, left his secured position. He exposed himself to enemy fire as he bounded across the compound to the other building from which enemy forces were engaging his comrades. Sergeant Payne climbed a ladder to the building’s roof, which was now partially engulfed in flames, and engaged the enemy fighters below with grenades and small arms fire. He then moved to ground level, engaging enemy forces through a breach hole in the west side of the building. Knowing time was running out for the hostages trapped inside the burning building, Sergeant Payne moved to the building’s main entrance, from which heavy enemy fire had thwarted previous attempts to enter. Sergeant Payne knowingly risked his own life by bravely entering the building under intense enemy fire, enduring smoke, heat, and flames to identify the armored door imprisoning the hostages. Upon exiting, Sergeant Payne exchanged his rifle for bolt cutters and again entered the building, ignoring the enemy rounds impacting the walls around him as he cut the locks on a complex locking mechanism. His courageous actions motivated the coalition assault team members to enter the breach and assist with cutting the locks. After exiting to catch his breath, he reentered the building to make the final lock cuts, freeing 37 hostages. Sergeant Payne then facilitated the evacuation of the hostages despite being ordered to evacuate the collapsing building himself, which was now structurally unsound due to the fire. - @americanheroadventures on Instagram

Nasution merupakan konseptor Dwifungsi ABRI yang disampaikan pada tahun 1958 yang kemudian diadopsi selama pemerintahan Soeharto. Konsep dasar yang ditawarkan tersebut merupakan jalan agar ABRI tidak harus berada di bawah kendali sipil, tetapi pada saat yang sama tidak boleh mendominasi sehingga menjadi sebuah kediktatoran militer. Bersama Soeharto dan Soedirman, Nasution menerima pangkat kehormatan Jenderal Besar yang dianugerahkan pada tanggal 5 Oktober 1997, saat ulang tahun ABRI. Nasution menikah dengan Johanna Sunarti, bersamanya ia memiliki dua anak perempuan, salah satunya adalah Ade Irma Suryani Nasution yang tewas dalam peristiwa G30S. Istrinya meninggal pada tahun 2010 dalam usia 87. Nasution sendiri meninggal pada 6 September 2000 di Jakarta setelah menderita stroke dan kemudian koma. BRIGADIR POLISI KAREL SASUIT TUBUN (Anggota Bhayangkara yang gugur melakukan perlawanan tentara penculik para Jenderal) Seorang anggota KORPS BRIMOB POLRI, namanya diabadikan di berbagai kota Indonesia termasuk di kawasan Palmerah, Jakarta Barat. Orang lebih familiar pada nama singkatnya dengan sebutan KS Tubun. Ia adalah Brigadir Polisi Karel Satsuit Tubun salah satu Pahlawan Revolusi. Ia merupakan korban pasukan penculik peristiwa Gerakan 30 September 1965 (G30S) saat sedang mengemban tugas menjadi penjaga kediaman Wakil Perdana Menteri Johannes Leimena, orang yang paling jujur di mata hati Presiden Soekarno, sosok yang juga berasal dari tanah Ambon, Maluku. Waktu pasukan penculik G30S yang hendak menculik Jenderal Abdul Haris Nasution, di Jalan Teuku Umar, sebagian dari pasukan hendak melumpuhkan pengawal yang menjaga rumah Johannes Leimena yang berdekatan dengan rumah Nasution. Saat itu, KS Tubun, dapat giliran tidur dalam pos jaga, kawannya yang lain di lokasi yang berbeda. Dua orang pasukan menghampiri pos dan membangunkan Karel yang sedang tertidur. Senjata Karel masih melekat di tubuhnya. Karel mengira dia sedang diganggu kawan-kawannya. “Karena itu ia tidur terus sambil marah-marah, katanya orang sedang tidur diganggu. Namun si pasukan penculik terus menendang. Karel pun terbangun dan sadar, bukan kawannya yang mengganggu. “Karel melompat yang ada di depannya langsung berkelahi dengan anggota gerombolan Cakrabirawa yang dicap PKI itu. Begitu kisah gugurnya Karel Satsuit Tubun dalam buku biografi Karel Sasuit Tubun (1981) yang disusun Frans Hitipeuw. Berdasarkan kutipan Abdul Haris Nasution di buku Memenuhi Panggilan Tugas: Jilid 6 Masa Kebangkitan Orde Baru (1987) dari buku Dari Hati ke Hati menyebut: “Ada satu orang (penculik) yang terus memasuki kediaman Pak Leimena, terus masuk ke gardu jaga dan merebut senjata Pak Karel yang masih sempat melakukan perlawanan. Tetapi karena satu orang lawan delapan, maka sesudah ditembak tewaslah dia. Un constructor de sueños de marca mayor El niño Dairo Jair Rosero Leyton, de 10 años, hijo de una familia campesina de la vereda La Cafelina, en El Tambo (Nariño), se encontraba gravemente enfermo por cuenta de una afección denominada púrpura fulminante, que afecta tanto sus extremidades superiores como inferiores. Buscando ayuda, los humildes padres supieron de un policía que en Santander auxiliaba a niños con discapacidad. Se trataba del mayor Rubén Darío Berrío Buitrago, creador de la campaña ‘Construyendo Sueños’, con la cual ganó el premio de la Noche de la Excelencia Policial 2017 en la categoría Policía más Humana y fue segundo a nivel nacional en todas las categorías. Tras conocer el drama de Dairo, el mayor emprendió una colecta para conseguirle unas prótesis, completando de su propio bolsillo para adquirirlas. Desde entonces, el pequeño puede realizar actividades cotidianas que antes le resultaban imposibles. A otros dos niños santandereanos, Carlitos y Santiago, con malformación congénita en sus extremidades superiores, también les cambió la vida con ayuda similar. Envió a Carlitos, de 7 años, a Bogotá y con el apoyo de ganaderos logró que le hicieran una prótesis como la de su personaje favorito: Iron Man. Y el mismo día en que Carlitos lloraba de felicidad por tan preciado regalo, le preguntaron al mayor si era posible hacer lo mismo con Santiago, de 5 años. Sin dudarlo, golpeó las puertas de la empresa privada y le consiguió la prótesis. Su compromiso con la comunidad lo ha llevado incluso a adquirir tres mulares para que se transporten niños del colegio de la vereda Aguas Claras; a amoblarle la casa a una familia de escasos recursos e incluso a crear el primer Comedog del municipio de Cimitarra, para alimentar a perros y gatos abandonados en las calles. El mayor, cuya labor la apoyan hasta niños que le ofrecen sus alcancías, nació el 14 de junio de 1982 en Chinchiná (Caldas). Está casado con la señora Lina Marcela Pascuas y es padre de Laura Alejandra, María José y Rubén Darío. These men are the Raider 7, which includes my brother-in-law at the top center. They were all killed on March 10, 2015, and they are a big reason we started this foundation, because their patriotism, love for America, and their dedication to service was unquestionable. Team — this hits close to home with me. A1C Elizabeth Jacobson wasn’t just the first Security Forces Airman to die during Operation Iraqi Freedom, she was also the first woman in the Air Force to be killed in that conflict, and she was 21 years old. Liz was a well known and loved member of Team Goodfellow. A photo of her was beautifully framed by my wingman, Chief Thomas Good, and hung proudly in the Command Chief Office in the 17th Training Wing, where it still hangs today. I also framed her photo in my office at the pentagon...as a daily reminder of “why” I serve and to “whom” I serve. Robert E. Roeder of Summit Station, Pennsylvania, was a Captain in the @usarmy and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions during World War II on this day in 1944. Roeder joined the Army in 1936 from his birthplace of Summit Station Pennsylvania and served with Company G, 350th Infantry, 88th Infantry Division. On September 27th, 1944, during the defense of Mount Battaglia, Roeder repeatedly encouraged his men and directed their defense against the enemy. The next day, he was injured by shell fragments and carried to the company command post. He refused medical treatment and dragged himself to the door of the post and fired his weapon at the attacking Germans while continuing to lead his men. He was killed moment later by an exploding shell. For his actions on this day, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Roeder is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. He was 27 years old at the time of his death. We are eternally thankful for Captain Roeder’s service to our country. 12-09-1939 Due to difficulties finding interesting and diverse stories to share for every single day, I decided to sometimes highlight rather unknown characters who still had a great impact on World War II. First off is Reinard Heydrich, the former chief of the Reich Main Security Office (including the Gestapo, Kripo and Sicherheitsdienst). Heydrich started his career as a low-ranked SS employee but he always kept in touch with Heinrich Himmler. Not soon after Reinard had joined in 1931, he already was promoted to chief of the Sicherheitsdienst. In this position, Heydrich became a huge asset to the Nazis. The SA, an organization thats role was to disestablish German politics, was growing in popularity amongst Germans and Hitler (1934) thought that the Sturmabteilung no longer was an asset to the Nazis now they basically ruled the country. Heydrich started building a dossier on SA leader Ernst Röhm and by late June 1934, the SS and Gestapo acted in coordinated mass arrests. All leaders of the SA, including Röhm, were assassinated which resulted in over 200 casualties. Heydrich is considered to be the architect of this purge, which is called the Night of the Long Knives. Between 1934 and 1940, Heydrich and Himmler reformed the German police forces, which gave them the ultimate power over all police related matters. This made them two very powerful men and both are considered to be part of Hitler’s inner circle. In 1941, Heydrich was sent to Prague ‘to Germanize the Czech vermin’. He terrorized the population of Prague and not soon after his arrival, 200 men were killed. After he terrorized the population, he started to apply the Carrot-and-Stick method which meant that he was rewarding the citizens if they behaved. This worked, and under his reign, Czechoslovakia started to behave to German standards. Besides his work within the German police, Heydrich is most known for his role in the Holocaust. Hitler called him “the man with the iron heart” and he was known to have a ruthless character. He set up the Einzatsgrüppe, who followed the German army and are responsible for over 2 million deaths including 1,3 million Jews. *Story continues in comments* - @ww2recaptured on Instagram

Termasuk yg melarikan diri lalu ditembak di Daerah Kediri, yaitu Ir. Surachman (Sekjend PNI). Seluruh sidang para pejabat di Mahmilub yang terlibat Gestapu bukanlah sidang yang tertutup. Tapi sidang yang terbuka & dapat diakses publik. Bahkan terdapat dokumen proses penyidikan para pelaku yang didokumentasikan wartawan dan bisa kita saksikan sekarang ini. Jika kita berkata pembunuhan 6 Jenderal dan 1 Perwira pada 1 Oktober didalangi oleh Soeharto & CIA : Mengapa mereka tidak menyebutkan Soeharto & CIA di dalam Pledoi (Pidato pembelaannya) di persidangan yg terbuka tersebut?. Padahal ini adalah kesempatan besar untuk membongkar siapa saja yang terlibat dalam gerakan tersebut. Sudahkah orang-orang membaca Pidato Sudisman Sekjend PKI yang dibacakan di depan pengadilan yang terbuka? Adakah menyebutkan CIA & Soeharto sebagai otaknya?. Jika orang bisa marah kepada Soeharto, mengapa orang tidak marah kepada Nasution?. Tidak ada orang yang menuduh Nasution adalah dalang 1 Oktober. A.H. Nasution yang anaknya ditembak dan wafat setelah mengalami rasa derita selama 5 hari dan ajudannya adalah satu dari korban yang meregang nyawa di sumur yang sempit. Adakah yang berani mengatakan A.
