‌Every time I have the opportunity to speak in public, I get nervous and overly emotional, and therefore I struggle to express my gratitude to those in attendance. Yesterday was the official Grand Opening for i.d.a. International Dance Academy and Wellness Centre. I am still overwhelmed with how the day took its course. I’ve always wanted a facility that not only focuses on a specific dance form, but a facility that also takes into account the mental and physical health of the dancers, and better yet, our community. I couldn’t be more grateful for those who believed in me and chose to be part of this journey. In 2006, I had an injury that threatened my future in dance. With the guidance and help of physiotherapist Janet Davis and my personal trainer/mental health coach Jackie Giellea, I was able to continue on the path that was destined for me. So here we are 13 years later, and now working alongside each other. The perfect trio, @i.d.a.ballet @amaroowellness @clubphysioplus To celebrate this next chapter, I was honoured to stand among our very supportive city councillor Mr. Steven Dasko, MPP Mr. Rudy Cuzzetto, and in honour of our late city councillor Jim Tovey, his wife Lee Tovey. Alongside us, were my childhood ballet teacher Christina Pora; the reason why I dance, Teresa Randall from NBS; the reason why I teach, my parents; the reason why I have been able to take risks, my husband Nolan Zucchet; the reason why I’m still sane at the end of the day, Michelle Alhindi from RBC; the reason why I have been able to take my business to the next level, Martha Hart my partner who gets me through the hardest times here at the school, and of course Janet Davis and her partners Russel Green and Amy Apps of Club Physio Plus and the one and only Jackie Giella and partner of Amaroo, Shannon Holmes. i.d.a.
