Eu não imaginava o que aconteceria na minha vida, mas eu sabia que, no meu contato com o público, eu precisava mostrar a minha personalidade. Staying at home for so many months has given me the time and space to find so many photos I haven’t seen in years . Here’s a couple of my first born daughter @atlantabean as a little girl , and as a grown up . I became a Mom when I was a teen, which doesn’t always turn out well. I had no idea that parenting is hard as fuck. Nothing and I mean NOTHING has challenged me to the depths of my being like parenting has . So , I just want to acknowledge all the parents & caregivers who are supporting kids right now. This shit was hard before a global pandemic , before isolation and separation from friends and community, before fires and record heat , before massive job losses, and a collapsing government. These are the moments when we get to see who we are behind the masks we all wear . I don’t know about you , but just as parenting has forced me to look inwards, this insanely challenging time is also an invitation to dig deep , deeper than i think I can tolerate and decide that 2020 is not going to be the year that breaks me . And ...please remember to go easy on yourselves and those around you, everyone is doing the best they can . Why are hair influenzers and none hairstylist product lines selling shampoo or modiFrying the CGM yet still calling it the The CGMethod? Then why call it the CG method? Is it for more Likes only? Is it because of a quick profit turnaround? Is it the result of over layering & buildup up from sulfate-silicone and oil attachment? Have you ever seen the long term result or felt the hair of a person using a product you so highly recommended one day and recommended something completely different the next? When you are promoting products and ingredients with no science background or not having hands on experience with other peoples hair that is not just your own, (Sorry mannequins do not count) you must start to ask these questions. My first question would be how can one possibly know what your hair likes if you are constantly bombarding your hair with different products daily? ShamPoo for curly hair is the like drinking salt water when you are thirsty, resulting in dry mouth. Using products containing heavy buttery, waxy oily, silicone & sodium hydroxide ingredients 100% stick to the hair like goo! Today is my dia-versery! If you’ve known me since 2007, I apologize because these posts are probably getting old. Just imagine if you actually HAD diabetes since 2007! :’) in the first photo I was undiagnosed and getting sicker by the day. Thankfully I didn’t go into diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) before I got to the hospital. . . I’ve never posted the second picture before, because I am unrecognizable. I am 80 lbs, 5’7” and SICK as hell. I looked like shit and I felt like shit but this picture makes me laugh because my mom and I joked around and said, “is this how diabetics have to eat?”. Whenever I tell the story of my diagnosis I always talk about how I was so afraid I’d have to start eating salad. If you’ve known me for awhile you also know I forking hate salad, lettuce, anything leafy and green. Over the years I’ve answered with a lot of “YES, I can eat that” and learned a lot about how to take care of myself. It’s never been easy. But it’s getting better with technology and experience. . . This year is 13 years living life as a type one diabetic. Now I’ve officially lived most of my life as a type one! I’ve lived with this disease long enough to even experience the actual medical name shifting from juvenile diabetes to plain old type one diabetes. I’ve done multiple daily injections, 2 different insulin pumps, and now with a continuous glucose monitor (thank gawd). . . I think this year my message is going to be that A.) insulin is too forking expensive. This needs to change before more people die. And B.) please be aware of the symptoms for your sake and your loved ones. If you are extremely thirsty, dehydrated, and peeing CONSTANTLY you need to call your doctor. And I’m not talking like “wow I was out in the sun all day” thirsty, this is some next level shit. There are other symptoms as well like muscle cramps, fruity breath, blurred vision, and fatigue. Yo te compraba la ropa, las medias bucaneras que tanto te gustaban, las tangas, los forros, la merca y la cerveza; porque si bien en los VIP´s tomábamos champán, vos, en la intimidad, preferías la cerveza. Vos manejabas ese Volgwagen Golf blanco de tres puertas que te habías comprado cuando la fama había hecho imposible que viajaras en colectivo o en subte, y lo que ganabas no te permitía pagar taxis o remises. Y en ese coche íbamos y veníamos. Del teatro a algún restaurante, donde generalmente te habían invitado y me llevabas de colada. Y después a alguna disco, en la que nos quedábamos horas acomodadas en el VIP tomando champán y entrando y saliendo del baño para ponernos rayas y terminar duras como el asfalto. O al Ave Porco, donde nos pasábamos casi toda la noche en el camarín con la Mosquito, la Peter Pank, la Miki y la Bárbara Volcán, y no teníamos que ir al baño para meternos las rayas. A veces también íbamos a Búnker, donde las mariquitas muñidas de cámaras te pedían fotos y vos me preguntabas: “¿A quién se le ocurre llevar una cámara de fotos a un boliche?” Si esa maldita enfermedad no te hubiera quitado la vida cuando estabas empezando a disfrutarla, hoy flashearías con los smartphones y los selfies. Recuerdo tu primer móvil, y que después tuvimos que llamar al Diego para pedirle “prestada” plata para pagar la cuenta. Algunas noches, aburridas, yirábamos de aquí para allá y nos levantábamos unos chongos para compartir. Y después me cargabas: “Esa cabecita rubia de arriba para abajo” (...) sigue en los comentarios.
