CEPHALIC LOBES // Ever wondered what those funky bits that stuck out from a manta’s mouth were? Manta rays have another pair of appendages - two fleshy, paddle-like structures called cephalic lobes. When curled, these stick out like horns giving them the nickname ‘devil ray’. The function of these horns? To extend and help to introduce water into the mouth for feeding. Swimming with this majestic sea turtle alone was the most peaceful moment I have ever honestly experienced in my entire life. I took this pic while swimming in the Tobago Cays marine preservation park. I will forever be grateful for this moment, this feeling, this majestic experience. Utter peace....Tranquility. I was swimming underwater for my very first time in over 25 years because my ear surgeries were successful repairing my perforated ear drums from childhood tubes. I am happy beyond words my ear surgery was successful so that I can go underwater and witness this utter magical beauty!!!!! I was in tears underwater......In complete awwwww.....My ears are not perfect, but I take nothing for granted in this life!!!!!! I especially take nothing for granted because of everything I have been through. Fortunately years ago this area of the sea was protected so that we witness this majestic beauty.....Preserving our Earth is very important to me. Our earth is healing while we stay home it’s close to my heart. Marine conservation is very important to me. I have swam with turtles in plastic and seen this epidemic first hand! Humans take our earth for granted. The truth about visualization. - The idea of using visualization and manifesting your dreams has taken pop culture by storm. It seems every self help “guru” pushes it. People eat it up! Why? Because it offers a low effort solution to achieve a goal. - It works off the same principle that get rich quick schemes use. If you can be convinced that you can make 10k a month by just clicking a few buttons, who wouldn’t want that. If you can achieve your dreams simply by thinking about where you want to be and wishing it to happen, who wouldn’t want to do that right? - Well unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Так совпало, что опять же вчера вышло большое интервью на Евроспорте со мной и моими корешами @yegor_popretinskiy , @shamil_ageev и бронзовой призеркой ОИ @stefania271 . Мы рассуждали о том, чем же нас зацепил виндсерфинг, что мы полжизни им занимаемся, каков он сейчас и какое у него будущее. Кому интересно, почитайте статью по ссылке в сторис. Я катаюсь на виндсерфинге уже 15 лет, кроме него занимаюсь всякими другими классными штуками типа фридайвинга, сёрфинга, САПа, сноуборда и разного другого. Я катаюсь за Redbull, Roxy и топовых производителей оборудования JP и NP, выступаю на соревнованиях (когда их не отменяют 🤭), провожу виндсерф лагеря и мой любимый Boardriders fest в Завидово. Чем же меня до сих пор цепляет виндсерфинг? Скажу, так, это безусловно физически самый сложный вид спорта, но при этом он настолько красивый, элегантный и глубокий, что он просто не отпускает. Помимо чистого спорта в нем есть многовековая база мореплавания, где вы не пассивный пассажир на борту, а капитан своего судна. Приливы и отливы, направление ветра, течение, строение дна и береговой линии, абсолютно все влияет на виндсёрфинг и ваше катание. Вы все эти знания собираете и используете. Виндсерфинг закаляет характер, учит уважению и заботе о природе и человеке, который ощущаешь не где-то в другой стране, а в поездке на домашний спот на ближайший водоём. Today is #WorldMantaDay! Giant manta rays are protected under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The main threat to the giant manta ray is commercial fishing, with giant manta rays targeted and caught as bycatch in fisheries throughout their global range. Manta rays are particularly valued for their gill rakers (the cartilaginous filtering plates that protect their gills and trap food), which are traded internationally. NOAA Fisheries is working to recover the threatened giant manta ray through domestic and international efforts, and has developed a preliminary conservation strategy.
