Dear Diary: (Thats basically what this post is) Today was rough, like really, really, REALLY rough. Jude wouldnt nap, instead he pooped while pretending to nap and took off his diaper in his crib. The boys fought constantly as I tried to homeschool them and when I finally had enough, I yelled at them. Of course that exact moment was when the amazing @andistgermainphotography was at my front door dropping off these amazing pictures that she took. I answered the door sans makeup, sans bra and basically gave her every excuse in the book why I was *fussing* more like yelling at my children. I told Steve that this was my version of hell while he was trying to virtual learn through the wildness, then I proceeded to hold Jude on my hip while teaching math and spelling to 3 children simultaneously and also trying to work from home. The enchiladas I was making to take to a mama wouldnt roll up and kept tearing apart so I had to turn them into a casserole (fingers crossed they taste okay.) I spent a large portion of the afternoon crying and wondering if I am doing the right thing, if I am what these boys need. If I am able to do this. . Pre covid I had kids in school, a nanny, alone time, pedicures, date nights, girls trips, travel trips... and even as Im typing this I realize how incredibly stupid this all sounds. When Im on my death bed I wont remember that one day when my enchiladas kept breaking apart, Ill remember that year where we got to know each other so deeply and loved on each other through the mess. The year I had to do things I didnt think I was capable of, but I did them and did them well even through tears. And the year I finally dug to the core of who I am to see what things are actually worth my time, attention, and brain-space. . Our verse in our homeschooling curriculum this week is Isaih 43:2: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Dont confuse your season for a lifetime. Als ik thuis kom kan ik dan meteen in het bewerken van de fotos vliegen 😄 want daar kruipt ook heel veel tijd in! Nieuwe locaties zoeken, website onderhouden, mailtjes van jullie beantwoorden, Albums maken en bestellen,... en dan om 15u30 is het weer al tijd om die vier uks op te halen van de school en de crèche 😅 Een dag is toch zo voorbij hé! - Ik ben niet zon fotograaf die houd van cliché- fotos... Geef mij maar dat tikkeltje apart, nonchalant , dromerig.
