. . ISS off-schedule orbit correction conducted. The next correction is scheduled for October 7 🛰 In the evening of September 22 the MCC-M received information that the ISS is entering the ‘red zone’ meaning the station may collide with space debris. Flight control group decided to conduct an immediate evading maneuver. Progress MS-14 spacecraft engines were switched for 150 seconds and giving the station velocity increment of 0.3 mps. Because of this, the MCC-M decided to adjust the ISS orbit correction parameters scheduled for October 7. Progress MS-14 will have its engines switched on at 08:11 UTC for 403.7 seconds. After the correctional maneuver the station orbit mean altitude will decrease by 1.4 km to about 418.4 km. #роскосмос #roscosmos #roscosmosofficial #мкс #iss #space #космос - @roscosmosofficial on Instagram

NASA and commercial partners are helping test technology to grow super foods in space as well as other promising space-based innovations. 8 payloads sponsored by NASA’s Flight Opportunities program will fly to space tomorrow on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket-powered system, including the Microgravity Lilypond from Space Lab Technologies. Developed with support from NASA’s SBIR/STTR program, the hydroponic chamber is designed to grow aquatic plants on a stable bed of water under efficient LED lights, with no soil needed! The nutrient-rich water can then be recycled after harvesting to grow the next crop, making for less waste in the process of space-based food production. Researchers are currently using the system to grow duckweed, a crunchy veggie high in protein, antioxidants, and Omega-3’s popular in Asian salads and miso soups. 🥗 🍲 Nom nom! The flight will provide more than 2 minutes of microgravity, enabling researchers to observe how the system performs. The launch of the ULA #DeltaIVHeavy rocket carrying the #NROL44 mission for the @natreconofc is planned for Sept. 26, 2020. The launch period is 12:01-1:35 a.m. EDT. The team has reviewed all data and ground support equipment and determined that a ground system regulator internal component failure was the cause of the on-pad abort. Out of an abundance of caution the regulators associated with each of the three common booster cores are being replaced and retested. - @ulalaunch on Instagram

Repost @chandrayan_3 Chandrayaan-2 marked one year of completion of launch by GSLV MkIII –M1 today🛰️ The Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was inserted into lunar orbit on August 20, 2019. All eight payloads on Chandrayaan-2 are performing well. The global mapping of lunar surface and polar coverage are being carried out as per the mission plan🚀 Extensive data has been acquired from Chandrayaan-2 payloads and parameters are being derived for (i) presence of water-ice in the polar regions, (ii) X-ray based and Infrared spectroscopic mineral information and (iii) mid and high latitude presence of Argon-40, a condensable gas on the Moon which gets released internally by the radio-active decay of 40 K. The report on the major findings from Chandrayaan-2 science experiments was planned to be released at the Annual Lunar Planetary Science Conference in March 2020; however, due to COVID-19, it has been cancelled. Public release of Science data from Chandrayaan-2 for global use will begin in October 2020, wherein details for accessing the data will be provided. Credits- @ddnational - @isro.in on Instagram

This past Memorial Day, the Virgin Orbit team took an enormous step forward in conducting our very first Launch Demo with LauncherOne. We set out to learn and to collect data — and boy, did we ever learn a lot. Tap the link in our bio to learn more about what happened. Both our team and our rocket have been honed and refined by our first launch campaign, and now we’re ready for the next chapter. We’ve also been keeping in lockstep with our customers, finding the best options for them. With a clear path forward, we’re extremely excited to announce that our Launch Demo-2 mission will carry 11 nanosatellites for @nasa! - @virgin.orbit on Instagram

I know your past haunts you, the memories, the taunts, everything comes back and it feels as though you can’t escape. But you don’t owe anyone anything, all you do is owe yourself the chance for you to be happy, for you to live again, for you to restart your life. That’s the beautiful thing about life, we choose when to press that restart button, and in that moment we simply start again. You forget everything. You draw a line and move on, growing from your mistakes, learning from your hurt. You have become a new person, you have killed yourself fighting the demons of your yesterday, you of anyone deserve happiness, you’ve got a whole future ahead of you, so don’t let the past ruin that, don’t let the memories taint moments tomorrow may bring. Everyday is a new start, every breath you take is a new beginning. { caption by: @thesmilingakh } . . . - @luigicani on Instagram

. Saturn the Giant 🚀 . 🔶 On May 25, 1961 U.S. president John Kennedy announced the goal of landing astronauts on the Moon by the end of the decade. By November 9, 1967 this Saturn V rocket was ready for launch and the first full test of its capabilities on the Apollo 4 mission. • 🔶 Its development directed by rocket pioneer Wernher Von Braun, the three stage Saturn V stood over 36 stories tall. It had a cluster of five first stage engines fueled by liquid oxygen and kerosene which together were capable of producing 7.9 million pounds of thrust. • 🔶 Giant Saturn V rockets ultimately hurled nine Apollo missions to the Moon and back again with six landing on the lunar surface. The first landing mission, Apollo 11, achieved Kennedys goal on July 20, 1969. ...
