Signing off to celebrate 14 years wedded today (swipe). 💒🎊🍾💗 An ode to My Mr Matthew. 👆🏻 He doesn’t get an airing on my grid very often. So I think 14 years together he has earnt a square or two. As with all marriages there have been lots of amazing ups and a few downs... but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right? If anyone would have told me that this year we would be around each other 24 /7 I think we would have both hysterically laughed / cried / laughed / cried etc etc. This strange year – more than any, has shown me I have absolutely loved having this man around (despite having to share the studio). He is super smart, a straight talker, calm and occasionally even funny. The ying to my yang. He is my biggest supporter and believes in everything I do. The best dad, listens to all my interior mania… and, well – just gets it 🙌🏻. He even looks more handsome by the year too. (How does that happen to men??)! ❤️❤️❤️ So, today we are enjoying the last of the sun. A shot of a corner of our lockdown paradise. Coffee came to England in the mid-17th century Have you heard about Samuel Pepys? He was a Member of Parliament in England in 17th century. Why is he so important? Interesting fact is that he kept a diary where he described a lot of important historical moments that were not fixed anywhere else! So, according to Samuel Pepys, England’s first coffee house was established in Oxford in 1650 by a Jewish gentleman named Jacob. The place is still there! It is now known as The Grand Cafe. London’s first coffee house was officially opened in 1652. It was run by Pasqua Rosée, a Greek man who in 1672 also set up a coffee stall in Paris. Pepys visited the London coffee house on 10 December 1660: “He [Col. Slingsby] and I in the evening to the Coffee House in Cornhill, the first time that ever I was there, and I found much pleasure in it, through the diversity of company and discourse.” That must be interesting to visit! As we head further into September my beach session days are numbered. Sad! But I do also love a sunny, cozy fall day. Still mind blowing that fall starts a week from today!!! Definitely up to my eyeballs in editing and trying to do office work every chance I get (working part time right now while I spend the rest of my time caring for sweet baby Oak). Feeling really excited to go back to 🇬🇷 In less than a week! Also, I am looking forward to create better memories than I did during last year‘s trip. If you have been following me for a while, you probably remember that I got robbed in Mykonos last summer right after arrival. My bag including laptop, camera, SD-Cards etc. was gone. 2 days later, I flew to Athens for the day and bought everything that was stolen again since I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to capture some content in Greece. Thanks to my insurance, I managed to get a refund for most stolen items. Definitely, be careful when you travel guys. Was für ein Glück wir haben, dass wir hier sind. Es musste schon viel klappen, dass diese Ferien wirklich stattfinden konnten. Und bis zuletzt haben wir eigentlich noch gedacht, dass es abgesagt wird. Und dann waren wir plötzlich hier. Und ich bin unglaublich dankbar dafür. Seit gestern ist nun Portugal tatsächlich auf der Liste der Reisewarnungen vom Schweizer BAG, das heisst für uns, dass wir nach unserer Rückkehr 10 Tage in Quarantäne müssen (egal was der PCR Test sagt). Für uns ist das aber gar nicht so tragisch. Wir leben in einer Welt, in der wir easy von zu Hause arbeiten können und die Lebensmittel frei Haus geliefert werden. Ich habe also überhaupt keinen Grund mich aufzuregen, noch mit meine Stimmung trüben zu lassen. Alles, was ich gerade fühle, ist Leichtigkeit und Dankbarkeit. Nobody wanted it. Before I ever walked through it, I had seen it many times from my boat on the lake and thought. “That’s such an ugly house. Who clear-cuts the front yard and paints a house white on Lake Blue Ridge?” But after visiting this home, I wanted it, and I ended up buying it. This plain Jane home offered one of the most stunning views of the lake that I’d ever seen. My contractors told me to tear it down and start over, but I saw what it could be. I lived in the home for a couple of years and came to understand exactly what it needed—which was admittedly a lot. After a massive remodel, my Rocky Point property has become a showcase home. Attention to detail, emphasis on livability and barefoot comfort, and equal focus on creating both amazing interior and exterior spaces have transformed this ugly duckling into a wonderful vacation destination. 4 hafta öncesine kadar hafta içi geçirdiğim yoğun tempolu iş günlerinden sonra cuma günü tam şu saatlerde bir nefes alıp akşamımı hatta bugünden haftasonumu planlamaya başlıyordum. 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗗 One of the biggest misconceptions about Botox is that you have to be a certain age to warrant getting it, but that is completely false. You can start to get Botox before you even have wrinkles, that way the muscles are never able to form those creases on your face. It is much easier (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘳 ) to prevent wrinkles than correct them. Also, the effect of Botox is temporary, it does not stay in the body forever (𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴 ). So those that are worried that they will look like cat women with continued use, or starting injections at a younger age, dont. Who knew that coming to visit family and friends in Kyiv for a few weeks, will turn into what currently is 6 months and who knows how much longer. ⠀ I am not complaining. House Maintenance! 👐🏼🧹 I’ve been chipping away at organizing 1 drawer, closet, or cabinet a day. Nothing more nothing less. It’s part of my morning ritual after making a matcha and walking ara. I pick a drawer, take everything out, put things where it belongs, throw things away, and reorganize it. I reuse shoe bins and note cards and tape as labels 🏷 It takes me 20 min a day tops! Hätte uns Anfang Mai jemand gesagt, dass wir bald einen Camper haben, hätten wir wahrscheinlich gelacht. Erst Mitte Mai kamen wir auf die Idee & dann ging es ziemlich schnell. GOOD MORNING ANTALYA🇹🇷 🇷🇸 Dobro jutro iz sunčane Antalije🥰 Ovde sam već 7 dana i mogu vam reći da mi je baš lepo😊 Ustajem rano ujutru kako bih uživala u izlasku sunca i prvoj jutarnjoj kafi na plaži. Telefon sam zamenila knjigom, uzmem ga tek uveče pred spavanje kako bih odgovorila na poruke i mailove jer ipak ne mogu sebi da priuštim taj luksuz da potpuno nestanem sa mreža par dana. Ovde je svaki dan oko 35 stepeni celzijusa. Ne pamtim da sam se kupala u toplijem moru, možda jedino na Karibima🙈 Antalija je popularno turističko letovalište, nudi širok izbor hotela i idealna je destinacija kako za mlade, tako i za porodice sa decom. Ja sam često letovala u Turskoj kada sam bila mlađa i zaista sam dosta toga obišla pa sam se sada odlučila za, što bi mnogi rekli, “penzionerski odmor”. Ne bih se složila sa njima, meni je ovo “odmor za dušu i telo” i “punjenje baterija” za sve što dolazi u narednom periodu. Još uvek nije kasno za letovanje, u Turskoj su temperature idealne i tokom oktobra. Moja preporuka je da uplatite “all inclusive” aranžman jer tako ne morate da brinete ni oko čega. Nažalost, ove godine nisu svi hoteli otvoreni jer nisu ispunili mere zaštite zbog pandemije pa je izbor sužen. Mi smo odsele u @porto_bello_hotel i zaista smo zadovoljne. Na storijima možete videti više snimaka iz hotela. Ono što se razlikuje u odnosu na “život pre korone” je što hranu sa švedskog stola ne smete vi da uzimate samostalno već odabere šta želite pa vam konobar da. Without working on + improving ourselves every day, it would be unrealistic for us to expect a much different future from the one we have right now. It would also be unrealistic for us to perform better in the future, because we will be no different tomorrow from the person we are today. An investment in yourself is a great example of self-love, and may very well be the most profitable investment you will ever make. Recently I’ve got myself a new office and camera equipment that will allow me to no longer rely on natural lighting - which is HUGE for me. I revolve my entire schedule around the weather/sun and it’s just not a realistic way to operate for me anymore. My entire apartment has been FILLED TO THE BRIM with props. Every closet, every storage space was at a max- there’s been no room for anything else in a space I need to relax and come home to live in. I want my work to evolve and look more refined. This month I’ve learned the importance of investing in the things that make your job more fluid and make you a better you.
