This pose represents the hours upon hours upon hours of practice it took to be able to do this pose. It did not happen in an instant, and if it did, it would have probably resulted in injury. Do I think this is a normal or even reasonable shape to put your body into? Not really.......I think it is possible to do it safely IF your bone structure allows. I can still do this pose today, but I dont practice it very regularly -- I may include it if I focus on hip openers in my practice and my body feels warmed up and ready. I love discovering what the human body is capable of, but am not willing to compromise my physical health in the pursuit. It all comes down to mindfulness and discernment.... - [COMP] Im totally depressed; Im still on medical leave. I miss my yoga practice and cant sleep. Last night, I got on my mat for a few minutes to do Sun Salutation. It was a peaceful 15 minutes of pure joy. It was the first night during my medical leave that I slept.
