A couple of months ago I spent some time capturing mouse lemurs at Nahampoana Private Reserve in SE Madagascar. I was hoping to collect further biometric data on the Endangered Microcebus tanosi, but I have a suspicion that instead I was actually capturing a different species..! Mouse lemurs are extremely difficult to tell apart in the field and I have to rely on genetic confirmation to be sure of the identity.
