Can you tell what these little birds are? They are Mountain Chickadee chicks snuggled up together in one of our nest boxes at Alta Ski Area! For the past 4 years, Tracy Aviary has been running a Nest Box project in partnership with Alta Environmental Center and Friends of Alta. Our team of community science volunteers snowshoe, ski, or hike out to 40 nest boxes and check on the birds inside with cameras on poles. We often find Mountain Chickadee families.
