2020 A+Award Winners Gallery: Coffee Production Plant - Meama by @khmaladze_architects, Popular Winner in the Low Rise (1-4 Floors) Office Category, Jury and Popular Winner in the Architecture +Concrete category, and Jury and Popular Winner in the Office Interiors (25k sqft) category. . Given the prominent location, the city required a building that would escape the regular factory appearance, and the clients intention was to create a strong visual identity for the newly created coffee brand. The program required spaces that would fit both, coffee production plant with its facilities and office space which would provide variety of work space arrangements, meetings and socializing areas, both indoors and outdoors. Additionally, public areas which would include coffee tasting cafe with small coffee exhibits. . As a response, a regular, box‐like volume of a production plant required to serve the buildings primary purpose adjusts to program components by wrapping around them. It stays high where necessary to fit production equipment and lowers where possible. Same with office, the building shell wraps around work, meeting and rest spaces arranged on floors suspended on various levels. The three atriums as the light wells, and numerous skylights bring daylight to the work and shared spaces below. The atriums are filled with plants to form small green outdoor spaces directly visible from all indoor areas. . The 3,680 sqm green roof acts as an additional thermal barrier to the roof insulation. The roof is intended to grow vegetation found around the site with wild grasses and plants, to blend with the context and require less maintenance. . For our family, thats @smokiesbaseball. The City of Sevierville and Sevier County have been terrific partners for many years, but our stadium contract expires in 2024, so it seems like a good time to think through all options. Thats why Boyd Sports is teaming up with so many others in Knoxville to explore a potential new baseball complex in Downtown Knoxville - modeled after Chicagos famed Wrigleyville with a state-of-the-art stadium, apartments, shopping, and restaurants. Right now, its only in early discussions and meetings with officials and community members to get their input on the idea. Then, any initiative for public consideration would come from city and county leadership. Design by MVRDV ! 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙥𝙚 - - DEPOT BOIJMANS VAN BEUNINGEN 👌🏽 the world’s first fully accessible art depot, will open its doors in September 2021 at Museumpark in the centre of Rotterdam. The assignment was to offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the museum world and make the whole art collection accessible to the public. The reflective round volume responds to its surroundings. The Depot features exhibition halls, a rooftop garden, and a restaurant, in addition to an enormous amount of storage space for art and design. The form of the 39,5 m high Depot is ovoid, a building ‘in the round’. Its bowl-like shape means that the ground-level footprint is small – maintaining views into and routes through the Museumpark – while the roof is as expansive as possible. The crisscrossing staircases that will lead visitors to exhibition rooms and curators’ studios will also lead up to the rooftop, and the structures in the atrium will eventually hold glass display vitrines. Koridor-koridor yang lapang akan mampu mengakodomasi sirkulasi masyarakat yang berlalu-lalang secara cepat melewati pasar ini. ________ Traditional market is still a place for trade to support daily needs. However, around Rusunawa Nagrak, North Jakarta, this has not been accommodated properly. The residents of this rusunawa have to travel several kilometers to reach the market. This underlies the presence of Rorotan Market as the center of Marunda communitys activities both socially and economically. It hopes that the availability of busway stops and a 24-hour activity system will further liven up the market atmosphere. It is over 2 kilometers long and reaches almost the entire Green corridor northeast: The ropeway that runs during the Bundesgartenschau from April 14th to October 8th, 2023 connects the two exhibition grounds Spinelli and Luisenpark built and operated by the Austrian company Doppelmayr. In Mannheim, the monocable gondola detachable is operated over a distance of about 2.1 kilometers up to 2.800 persons per hour and direction in 65 transport cabins with 10 persons each. Se nos encargó presentar una propuesta re-novadora para los Centros de Integración Social. ⠀ Enfocándonos en los sectores jóvenes-adultos y mujeres jefas de hogar, propusimos un programa mixto: un Parque Educativo en el que funcionaría una Escuela de Huerta y Paisaje junto a la Facultad de Agronomía de Villa Maria y un Centro de Atención y Formación; con consultorios, aulas, mediateca y un taller textil. ⠀ El diseño de los edificios incluía todas las características típicas de la Arquitectura Pasiva: alta compacidad, muy buena orientación norte, elevado aislamiento térmico, muy buena protección solar, puentes térmicos muy reducidos, alta hermeticidad al paso del aire y una propuesta para la recuperación de temperaturas muy eficiente. ⠀ Para optimizar la protección solar se opto por una sistema de persianas manejables manualmente. Para controlar el sobrecalmentamiento en verano, por las noches se propuso un sistema de ventilación natural cruzada, para prescindir del sistema de ventilación mecánico. ⠀ Ante situaciones de Emergencia, como la que se nos presenta hoy con el COVID-19, el edificio completo se transformaba en un salón único gracias a los paneles móviles que separan cada estancia. ⠀ Proyecto piloto encargo del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social de la Nación (2017-2018). The Marcellin Champagnat Building at St Paul’s College was honoured with a Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZIA Auckland Branch award in the Education category. “The building is the first stage of, and important start to the redevelopment of a school campus to create fit-for-purpose classrooms and administration facilities. Sited in accordance with a masterplan that addresses urban conditions and envisages connected open spaces, the building simply and effectively negotiates site levels, and is configured and articulated to acknowledge the road to the south, the chapel to the east, classrooms and arrival area to the west and playgrounds to the north. Robust materials and a restrained aesthetic imbue the building with a strong yet subdued presence that will allow it to sit well on the street and in the campus for years to come.” Auckland Branch jury citation. Architecture studio Penda has designed a meadow containing sunken pathways and concealed meeting places, which opens next month as part of Chinas International Garden Expo 2015. The temporary installation, named Where the River Runs, will invite visitors to follow the path of an imaginary river as it winds its way through the landscape. The aim is to highlight that clean water is not an endless resource. The water the dinosaurs drank millions of years ago is the same water that falls as rain today, said Penda architects Chris Precht and Dayong Sun, who have offices in both Beijing and Vienna. But how will global warming effect the natural resources? they asked. And will there be enough clean water, if the pollution and population of our planet continuous to grow as expected? The installation, which is currently under construction, will comprise an undulating grass landscape. Below its surface, the pathways will wind towards a central plaza that is sheltered beneath the grass. Pendas bamboo pavilion could be expanded to create homes for 200,000 people Visitors will be able to enter from three different points. As they follow the path, they will be able to sprinkle seeds over the grass and into various planters, so that additional plants and flowers will begin to sprout. As people are hiking through the landscape and seeding their plants, they take over the function of a river as they bring life to the pavilion, said Precht and Sun. Like the river does in an natural environment, the visitors become the starting point in the lifecycle of plants. The 10th edition of the China International Garden Expo takes place in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Se nos encargó presentar una propuesta re-novadora para los Centros de Integración Social. ⠀ Enfocándonos en los sectores jóvenes-adultos y mujeres jefas de hogar, propusimos un programa mixto: un Parque Educativo en el que funcionaría una Escuela de Huerta y Paisaje junto a la Facultad de Agronomía de Villa Maria y un Centro de Atención y Formación; con consultorios, aulas, mediateca y un taller textil. ⠀ El diseño de los edificios incluía todas las características típicas de la Arquitectura Pasiva: alta compacidad, muy buena orientación norte, elevado aislamiento térmico, muy buena protección solar, puentes térmicos muy reducidos, alta hermeticidad al paso del aire y una propuesta para la recuperación de temperaturas muy eficiente. ⠀ Para optimizar la protección solar se opto por una sistema de persianas manejables manualmente. Para controlar el sobrecalmentamiento en verano, por las noches se propuso un sistema de ventilación natural cruzada, para prescindir del sistema de ventilación mecánico. ⠀ Ante situaciones de Emergencia, como la que se nos presenta hoy con el COVID-19, el edificio completo se transformaba en una salón único gracias a los paneles móviles que separan cada estancia. ⠀ Proyecto piloto encargo del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social de la Nación (2017-2018). Questo ha comportato una frammentazione dei progetti che non sono riusciti a dare a Padova unimmagine progressiva. 𝗟𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗶 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶 Tra progetti interessanti e progetti modesti, larea presa in esame è in realtà il risultato di un modo di affrontare la città di Padova, di darle un volto nuovo che potesse trasmettere la sua grande storia e la sua grande bellezza. Per questo si è fatto delle idee contrastanti la base di un progetto di bellezza, non inteso solo come perfezione, ma come motivo di continuità storica e percezione. The #Riverlight plaza design reflects the fluid, depository & wild nature of the Brisbane River edge environment. The rich texture of planting, pebbles & timber evokes the idea of found objects inviting wonder, interest & interaction which in turn stimulates community. ⠀ ⠀ Recycled wharf timbers are used as totems to display the waterline & marine bore activity etched into the old wharf posts. Happy to announce that we won the competition for the design of an island garden in the National Botanic Garden in Meise (BE). To visit the island, we propose a free running in-situ cast walking path on top of the existing island. Afterwards parts of the island are dug out to create space for a rich water-related fauna and flora. The pathway transforms alongside the walk offering different ways to experience nature.
