Guess who’s back🙋🏼♀️ It’s been a while so I thought I would post again!❤️ A lot of nasty things happening in the world have been brought to my attention, and I didn’t really know how else I could address it. I probably won’t mention anything about the failures of humanity in this caption, but just know I’m posting about them on my story whenever I find something relevant. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I never really speak in depth about my emotions on here, as in the past it has made me appear vulnerable so people treat me differently. Before you worry, I’m fine, you don’t need to check up on me because I’m ok. I think the last few weeks, I’ve been feeling shit. There’s many factors: feeling worthless, coronavirus, lack of freedom, pending normality, humanity’s disasters, it all just gets me down. Reading about the treatment of Black people and what is happening in Yemen makes me angry. I want to help, but apart from educating, donating and learning, I cannot fix all of the world’s problems. But I wish I could. I wish I could make life easier for everybody, no matter what their hardships may be. My feeling of self-love comes and goes, one day I’ll be preaching about loving yourself, then another I’ll feel totally under-appreciated and worthless. It comes in waves. But as I like to say, we must ride the waves. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In life there will be good and bad. The good being I’ve started up my own mini business by myself, learning a hobby with no experience, and finding a new passion, having so many loving people around me, being healthy, eating good food, and the bad being my lack of freedom and normality. I WISH I could go out and see people, I wish the whole virus could go away and everything could be the way it was, but things will never be the way they were again. Nivea Men, the official men’s grooming partner to Liverpool FC, has unveiled a giant mural in Liverpool city centre to celebrate its long-standing partnership with the team and to congratulate it on its League championship win. Devised by Carat UK and Posterscope together with Mural Republic, the striking mural features a hyper-real recreation of a photo of the players embraced in a hug and is supported by a digital out of home takeover throughout the city. Multiple high impact screens across roadside, rail, POS and shopping malls leading with creative that combines Jürgen Klopp’s famous “Boom” with the Nivea Men logo, and the #sharethecare to encourage sharing on social media. The mural is situated on one of the largest available sites in the UK. THE BORDERS, SCOTLAND I had been travelling in the border country and from a busy road I saw this post and rail fence and was immediately compelled to turn round and retrace my steps. This fence was so much more than a mere structure. It was a masterpiece . I wished to meet the person who made this work, to encourage them to talk me through it, to acquaint me with every hazard, every joy of its construction and o know something of their elation at the end of their toils. Like the autumn ploughman looking back at his furrows so accurately aligned, there is pleasure in accuracy. Once there was a type of film available with a dedicated speed of one thousand asa. It had certain applications and its boost was grain and accordingly low contrast. Like many I cared for it deeply. Sadly, it was withdrawn, but a few months beforehand, a photographer friend in the USA panicked and acquired a thousand rolls, such was his addiction. I had not waned to use a fine grain film here. The wooden fence I felt should not appear too invasive upon the land. I hoped that the coarseness of the film would unify fence, hill and grass.The wood of the fence had weathered, and its warm silvery grey sat well on the slope of the November grass. Thankfully, there was no vivid blue in the sky to conflict with the browns and steely greys. Saint’s Way Padstow to Lostwithiel 50,048 steps 165 floors • As a treat, to finish September, I’m walking the Saint’s Way. It crosses the centre of Cornwall, from Padstow to Fowey, and traces centuries of Celtic history. It is muddier, more rural, and much quieter than any of the coastal walks, but fascinating as a two-day exploration of the tors, the churches, and the monoliths that have shaped this county. If you’re planning to walk it, I highly recommend the downloadable offline map in Guru Maps via British Pilgrimage Trust. Some signs have been vandalized and some are quite confusing so the app helped keep me on track. • Eats and Treats: Packed lunch all the way today. • Books: The Freedom of Simplicity by Richard Foster • People: I only encountered one other couple walking this trail, visitors from Hampshire. Several of the houses had large signs reminding us that they were not open to visitors and I had my first adventure being chased by two dogs. • Wild Swimming: None.
