Lui è il mio amico @carmelo_isgro Carmelo non è una persona ordinaria, non riesce mai a stare fermo e quando si mette in testa una cosa praticamente non c’è niente che possa fermarlo. Per darvi un’idea del suo potenziale vi dico che quattro anni fa un capodoglio si è spiaggiato a Capo Milazzo, era morto a causa di una rete illegale aggrovigliata alla pinna caudale e aveva diversi oggetti di plastica nello stomaco. Quella morte per Carmelo non doveva essere vana quindi decise di passare le successive due settimane a scarnificare l’animale per recuperarne le ossa. La sua idea era quella di ricreare lo scheletro dell’animale ed esporlo in un museo dedicato al mare che avrebbe creato nella sua città. Molti gli hanno dato del pazzo visionario ma la storia vuole che poco più di un anno dopo il @muma_milazzo non solo sia diventato realtà ma, grazie al contributo di tantissime persone che hanno messo a disposizione il loro talento, è diventato a mio parere uno dei musei dedicati al mare più belli mai creati. Quindi potete immaginare quanto io sia felice di fare proprio qui la seconda presentazione del mio libro, sotto lo sguardo del capodoglio Siso simbolo di quanto l’uomo può togliere ma anche dare indietro alla natura. Visto che Carmelo veramente non sa stare fermo, il giorno della presentazione, l’11 settembre, ha deciso di fare la traversata a nuoto dello stretto di Messina senza maschera e pinne ma trainando un bel mucchio di plastica. Io naturalmente sarò al suo fianco, pronta a supportarlo nell’ennesima pazzia 💙 - @merisunrise on Instagram

today is my birthday! if you can guess how old i am (or caught it in my story lol) you get... an internet high five! there’s always this weird perception of birthday check lists... what to accomplish by a certain age. my last year especially brought me a lot of good & a lot of growth (fueled mostly by mamahood), personally and professionally. if you’ve followed me for a long time i’m sure you’ve noticed my work change over the years. the thing that makes me happiest today, is that this last shoot i did feels so much like me & that’s a feeling I’ve chased hard my whole life... and only recently achieved a handful of times. art is weird huh!! but i feel like all my practice & my introspection has allowed me to understand myself more than ever... and to much more accurately capture the things i feel & see inside. happy birthday to me, indeed! . also this shoot is my summer dedication to coronavirus. 🤪 i’ve returned to work, slowly & carefully, and we have a few ppl added to our circle socially. it kind of feels like this, seeing friends and family now. for a minute there i think i forgot how to even talk to ppl at all! selena is the last model i worked w, just shortly before we began our self-quarantine in our house after coming down w symptoms. i came to a plan w selena... she’s going to be the only model i work w for all shoots at least this summer, so hope y’all love her as much as i do. check my story for more from this adventure & let me know which shots are your fave! . selena did her own hair and makeup. styling & concept by me! - @karrahkobus on Instagram

This was the dream shoot I always hoped for. Last week in Italy I took photos of a beautiful mother and her gorgeous daughter. @giannamorolla was one of my very first models when I was 18, in my hometown. She became my muse and is still one of my very best friends whom I love so much, after 29 years. @michelasantomauro_ is her 14 years old daughter and definitely does her proud. Genes dont lie and Michela is absolutely stunning. Got so emotional taking these photos, having Gianna in front of my lenses for the first time in 20 years and Michela for her very first shoot, reminding me of Gianna when she was younger.
