The blaze first broke out on Tuesday at Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesbos. Large stretches of the camp burned down. Only a medical facility and some small clusters of tents were left standing, according to the New York Times. No deaths were initially reported. The fires continued through Wednesday, leaving about 12,000 people without shelter. Police reinforcements were brought in to prevent people fleeing the fires from reaching the island’s main town of Mytilene, Al Jazeera reported. The camp’s residents, many of them refugees who fled Afghanistan or Syria, have been forced to sleep along roadsides and in fields and parking lots. The notoriously overcrowded camp had been in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is unclear how the fires started. This picture doesnt show the women of color spotting me and shouting Noelia, you got this behind me. Last year, I had the opportunity to attend Color the Crag as a volunteer. This event is a climbing festival that celebrates diversity in the sport by gathering and connecting climbers of color to build a sense of community. I knew I was going to climb, but I had no idea the effect this event will have in my life. This event became a sacred safe heaven that gave me the opportunity to not just climb with a community of color for the first time, but also share and listen to experiences that were not isolated but shared by all of us on our day to day lives, at the gym and at the crag. I left this space energized and ready to acknowledge and tackle the emotions and challenges that come with the isolation of not being represented in the outdoors. I left this space with the desire to be part of, support and create spaces like this for my family, friends and community to learn, share and explore. I see and experienced the power of this space and I want more affinity spaces for myself and my communities to gather and be. In a parallel universe where the MLB expands this is how I would see it, I went with more of a regional approach with the AL west being mainly on the western side of the continent and the NL on the eastern, wouldn’t it be cool to see a Portland seattle rivalry, giants-A’s for the Bay Area, battle for So-cal/south west in the AL south, battle for Chicago/Wisconsin-Minnesota, battle for Texas (obviously that still exists) Vegas and Rockies just had to fit in, the NL East is subway series/Yankees-Red Sox/Phillies are close geographically with all of them you could call it the battle for New England, Rays-Marlins battle for Florida/Baltimore and DC are really close so I think it’d be interesting, for the NL East I like how close they are would make for interesting events especially around the Greta lakes mainly Lake Erie, finally we have the NL Central for this it just came down to lack of information and just slumping them together I’d say royals-cardinals would be interesting, the new leagues would consist of AL (2 new teams, 7 AL, 7 NL) NL (8AL, 8 NL) the playoff format is like the NFL top team from each league gets first seed/bye and then home field goes to division winners in first round followed up by next best record - @kyle_lewis_fan on Instagram

With Jat leaders threatening to resume agitation in case the BJP led Haryana government does not meet their demands by March 17, Haryana government has sought paramilitary forces from the Centre to be deployed in sensitive areas. “Paramilitary force has been demanded (through state Home department) from the Centre and we will get the same,” IGP, Rohtak Range, Sanjay Kumar said on Thursday. He said additional police forces also been arranged from within the state. “We have made adequate police security arrangements. We have adequate force and we are deploying it accordingly,” he said. However, he refused to shed light on how many police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in case Jat leaders resume their agitation. “I cannot disclose it because of security considerations,” the IGP said. Haryana police was criticised for its “failure” to prevent and control violence during the Jat agitation last month, in which 30 people lost their life.
