Well here we go.... last night I was involved in a hit and run collision on the Interstate headed home from work. A truck hauling a long trailer with a tractor got over in my lane as I was coming up on it and I collided with the back corner of the trailer. Afterwards he drove away from the scene. It was scary but by the grace of God I came away injury free but my car is totaled. I was in another serious accident 2 years ago headed home from a wrestling event on a rainy day where my car hydroplained into a median and it totaled my car at the time. Back then I going through a serious legal battle due to identity theft over my credit, I had no savings, didn’t have full coverage insurance and had no hope or clue on what I could do. I had a Guardian Angel named @kraigkeesaman that helped me through that time. I thank God everyday for him and for people like him. I learned from that time in my life. In the past two years I won my battle over my credit and got it fixed, I’ve done well for myself business wise to have a nice savings, and have full coverage insurance. So in a wild turn of events, less than 24 hours since I wrecked my car I was able to purchase another car today. It’s not new, it’s nothing special, but the fact I was able to get it and the polar opposite feeling compared to the devastation I felt two years ago is unimaginable. I’m blessed to have a car, I’m blessed to have the love and support from my friends, family, and fans. But most importantly I’m blessed to be alive. - @fuegodelsol_ on Instagram

**TW** today marks 6 months since the accident. initially, i tried convincing myself that it didn’t happen at all, especially since the world was introduced to a pandemic two days after it happened. the memory i have of it in combination with the weight of everything going on in the world currently feels too much to handle most days. the fear it’s instilled in my life is something one doesn’t really move past easily or quickly for that matter. the physical damage is going to take time, too. it’s a lot to have to endure when the world is still somewhat at a halt and in disarray. i’d always lived my life trying to quickly move past any chaos or pain, distracting myself with work or anything else that would make me think i was moving past an event that was unpleasant but with the inability to do so for the greater part of this time, i’ve been forced to sit with all this and really examine what it’s done to me and how i see life through what constantly reminds me of a shattered windscreen with complete darkness on the other side of it. no matter how dark it seems, there will be light. what you can’t feel, you can’t heal. there were so many people that asked if i’d ever tour again with what happened, and many days i said “no.” but i’m starting to realize that the past is the past and putting enough work into healing will put me in a place to do what i love again. i was hesitant to even post any of this out of panic that i’d send myself spiraling into anxiety, just by acknowledging today at all. but here i am. alive. facing what changed me forever. hoping and doing what i can to see and help make the world a better place than what it was the day this happened and to try and grow from trauma. and a thank you to my friends, @caroline_music who no matter the distance is so present and strong, family and @gib_is_gib who have all been such rocks through all of this and so patient with me. endless love and gratitude for helping me see the light always. ❤️ - @aysiamarotta on Instagram
