❤️ Break the bad carb stigma!! ❤️This is honestly one of my favorite concepts to discuss with clients 🥰Diet culture labels carbohydrates as good carbs or bad carbs, which only creates fear of eating those deemed as bad PLUS guilt and regret after eating one of them 😣 That is not a way to live! So I LOVE sharing that when it comes down to it, at the molecular level 🧬, once a cookie 🍪, a potato (sweet or white 🍠🥔), a piece of bread 🥖, or a piece of cake 🍰 crosses through the small intestinal wall into our bloodstream ➡️➡️ our body sees it as the same thing: GLUCOSE 😮 And while its true that whole wheat bread and cookies have different nutritional values (e.g., the bread has protein, fiber, and certain vitamins and minerals that a cookie typically lacks in comparison), from a carb perspective, our body sees them as the SAME THING and will use this gloucose in the same way: for ENERGY ⚡️💥 So if it’s snack time and you’re super in the mood for a cookie or chocolate 🍫 or something, its TOTALLY cool to incoroprate it into a snack with protein, like you would another carb (e.g., crackers with peanut butter), def more satisfying than denying yourself the chocolate and having an apple instead 🍎, and will help normalize food that you may see as off limits. {Free images are from clipartix.com} I hope this helped remove any fear of so-called BAD carbs ❌ Share this to help break the bad carb stigma! 🙌🏼 - @thehungryclementine on Instagram

That’s okay, And I can tell you that you’ll eventually agree with 1 of these 4 reasons cardio lies. - Here’s the four lies cardio tells you (btw, love the endorphin rush!): - 1️⃣ Calories burned: reporting your workout quality via calories burned is inaccurate at BEST. Instead, use heart rate, speed and distance to gauge your progress. - 2️⃣ Estimating Calories burnt: over time, let’s say 5 years, you increase your bodies efficiency if you’re exercising and not training. Same workout = less calories burnt per minute. Train to improve your efficiency rather than train to burn off X amount of calories - 3️⃣ Dietary changes: “I can eat whatever I want when I train for (insert long distance event here).” No, Fred. No, you cannot. Research shows poor dietary intake still can clog arteries and/or decrease lean body mass (no bueno). - 4️⃣ Sweat = success. Again, cardio 100% makes you feel ‘good’ - via the endorphin rush. Not a question. But did you get better? Or just create a sauna in your apartment / basement / exercise room. I, too, love a good cardio/sweat, and don’t like it lower than 72 when I workout, but I also track my progress racha workouts via sets/reps/weight and or meters and time. In a partnership that’s likely to involve lots of RGB lights, IKEA has announced it’s collaborating with ASUS’ gaming sub-brand, ROG, to create a new line of furniture specifically built for gamers. The range, which will consist of about 30 products, is slated to launch next February in China, with plans to make the furniture available in other regions by October 2021. Unfortunately, other than the promise of being affordable, IKEA is keeping shush about what furniture and accessories we can expect. The point of such collaborations usually is to combine the brand identities of two companies into new products — sort of what Nintendo recently did with its Fortnite-themed Switch console. In the case of IKEA and ROG, though, fusing brand identities doesn’t seem as straightforward. IKEA has built an empire off of making simple and disposable furniture, whose defining feature is lack of detail. ROG’s aesthetic, on the other hand, redefines the meaning of overkill — its products feature excessive RGB lights and lots of alien-like detail. That said, the right furniture setup can indeed make for a better gaming experience, which is something both companies seem to understand. The unclear bit is how they plan to consolidate their wildly diverging visual identities into the new line of products, or what features we can expect from them. The first is by a conservative woman who is defending the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and suggesting any criticism of it is a betrayal of women’s “empowerment”. . This is a common tactic of the right. They’ll gleefully shit on feminism to their heart’s content, enthusiastically agreeing with each other that feminists are “ridiculous” and “disgraceful” and that they have NEVER experienced sexism, that the men they know are WONDERFUL and GLORIOUS and they’ve never had a single moment of harassment from their in their entire lives, unlike women who are all nasty bullies. . Come election time, they’ll sneer about “voting with your vagina” because “it should be about merit” and this is why we also don’t need quotas (which suits them too because nothing pleases an Official Woman more than knowing her conditional inclusion is a rare privilege, proof that the boys like her, they really really like her.) . But the moment feminists call one of them out or actively work against their bullshit, all of a sudden they’re concerned with The Sisterhood. . “So much for The Sisterhood!” they’ll shout, as if the feminists invested in dismantling the patriarchy are obliged to champion the success of women actively working to uphold it or else risk exposing themselves as hypocrites. . These women sit at the foot of the table and gratefully eat men’s crumbs like they were a feast and not an insult. They then show their thanks by proving their loyalty to the machine so that these same men can turn around and point at them while saying, “See? How can I hate women? I love women! Instead of offering to help us get the permit we need to sell curbside, he threatened us with a fine of $100 if we are caught selling food (we are not). The chapter houses are closed yet the corporate fast food locations are operating. I’m not even upset because this has been the behavior of the Navajo Nation for decades and the only thing we can do is hope and vote for change. But I am determined. HUGE congrats to my fellow Recording Academy members that put in major grass roots style work both locally & nationally back in October. The goal was to educate members of Congress and other Government officials about reforming the severely outdated 1995 law that governs many forms of licensing and royalties due to artists such as streaming music plays. We spoke & our government officials that we elected listened. | Artist currently do get paid per digital play or stream. Sadly the rate per play is roughly 1/8 of a penny. Artists on the radio get paid per play, however they get between $75-$100 per play. When an artist gets their music played via a streaming outlet their music is being played because the listener seeks the artist out & chooses to play their tracks. The radio crams whatever they want to play down your earhole. Record labels have to pay the radio stations to play their artists. #SeemsLegit | Spotify’s revenue doubled last year from $1.2 BIL to $3.3 BIL & they are estimating they will do $6 BIL in 2018. Spotify pls remember that the reason you are going to get 6 Bs this year is because of the ARTIST’S MUSIC you are charging people to hear via subscriptions or paid advertisement. Record streams = Today’s record sales. | The Music Modernization Act officially passed the U.S. House of Representative unanimously 415–0 vote Wednesday. Earlier the MMA passed through the House Judiciary Committee with a 32–0 vote. | Hopefully the Senate agrees that these 23 yr old laws were made when no one played songs on streaming outlets like @Spotify @Pandora @YouTube & @AppleMusic need to be reformed. | Good ‘ole Donald J. Trump needs to sign it & it will be a law. This will be a very historical moment in music. It will help musicians that are on their early grind earn enough money so they don’t have to have 6 part time jobs. I debated about even posting this but it goes to show we still have a ways to go with the misinformation on “Exercising While Pregnant” & the only way we do that, is addressing the misinformation. These are just a few of the screen grabs I’ve seen this week directed towards me. So here we are: let’s talk some facts. Exercising while pregnant is one of the BEST things a low risk mother can continue to do for herself and her baby. Research has undoubtedly proven this and the old school thoughts have very much been debunked ( even if your Doctor still adheres to some of them) One of the biggest reasons there’s so much controversy with this subject in my humble opinion: 1. Old school thoughts are still believed & some doctors still adhere to the older guidelines. 2. Cultural differences. 3. Large majority of people associate exercise with negativity thanks to diet culture. Rather than seeing the benefits toward ones physical and mental health, they automatically associate exercise to punishment, weight-loss and vanity as the sole reasons for ones exercise. 👏🏼Exercise is more than just aethetics. It’s medicine. It’s a pivotal pillar in health.👏🏼 So with that being said, I listed a few of the positive benefits of exercise ( yes including weight lifting) have! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 There are functional reasons to continue lifting. Picking up your baby’s car seat works the exact same muscles as a deadlift. 😉 There will be people who may or may not support your choices and be hateful but the ignorance lies with them, not YOU! You do what’s best for you and your baby. In due time, I’m a firm believer exercising while pregnant will have less stigma, it already does....we just have to continue educating on it and sharing our journeys. 🙏🏼 ***and if you choose not to exercise for whatever reason that is OK...but shaming mothers who do, needs to stop. We have to be more supportive of one another ♥️ So many mothers stop sharing because of the endless amount of unnecessary judgment. Sadly this shouldn’t be a subject moms are shamed for.
