My life is shifting. What once served me, serves me no more. What used to light me up, has shifted. As I’m sure you can see by the content of my account. I have been depressed, I have worked to the point my life had fallen apart, I have won awards and got really weird about it, I have lost awards and drank myself into oblivion, I have done the drugs, I searched for external validation, I have been fused with my identity as chef and restauranteur, I told myself I am only as good as the food I make, I have moved through many different phases in my relationship, I am a father, a husband, I have started 3, 7 figure businesses, and another that is still growing, I have outgrown relationships, grew into new ones, I have lead teams of 100 people, sometimes not very well, but I learned a shit ton doing it. I have bought out partners and partners bought me out. I have gone from letting my emotions run me to, holy shit, how is this life I am living, so beautiful. I am surrounded by support, I have everything I have ever needed, my life is stable and relationships are strong. The kicker is, Why do I have to work so hard for the things I already have? I do not have all the answers, but I do know, I have an absolute shit ton of life experience. I have a toolbox full of grade A tools and I am ready and called to share them with you. I will be building out a system to assist CEO’s, executives, young professionals that are caught in the hamster wheel. That seem to “have it all” yet struggle on the inside, and know they could do better. If you are one of these people, and may not know where to go, reach out. { prompts for re-parenting yourself through a difficult experience } can I turn towards this emotion without labeling it as wrong or bad? what is trying to reveal itself through this pain? how can I make more space for my current experience? would I talk to someone I love the way I am talking to myself right now? can I let go of the judgements I have towards myself in this moment, and be with the pain beneath those judgements instead? can I drop the story about how I think I should be and instead hold space for myself as I am? How you speak to yourself through your pain influences how, and if, that pain can heal. Often times, our inner dialogue unconsciously replicates the values, beliefs and emotional patterns of our parents, caregivers, and society at large. Re-parenting is a process of unlearning the programs you inherited that cause you harm, and consciously replacing them with ones that support your healing and vibrancy. Despite how you may have been socialized, self-aggression and self-judgement are not sustainable nor reliable paths to healing.
