Heart broken 💔 The car was tired, clutch & brake problems surprised me at high speed and I couldnt avoid brushing the wall. Then the car wouldnt restart in the pits because of air in the clutch system. That lost us the podium. Im sorry for my team @rebellion_racing & team mates @romaindumas_official @natberthon. We didnt deserve that. I guess it’s Le Mans and Le Mans can be tough some times. We finished 4th overall. Thank you to every single person that has been working on our cars & supporting us. A Quarter Century of Indy 500 Wins for Xtrac Sunday 26th May 2019, sees the 103rd running of the legendary Indianapolis 500 and it will also mark the 26th victory for cars using Xtrac gearboxes and components. Remarkably, since Xtrac were awarded the sole gearbox supply contract in 2000, that’s 660 straight Indy 500 starts using only Xtrac gearboxes since 2000. The first team that Xtrac aided to victory in the “500” was Penske in 1991, and fittingly, it was Penske’s Simon Pagenaud who claimed pole position this year with a qualifying speed of 229.99mph. The 2000 season saw teams using Xtrac’s bespoke P195 gearbox which was superseded by the lighter and shorter P295, which itself was upgraded to aid driver safety in 2008 with a paddle shift gearchange system. The current P1011 gearbox, which has been in service since 2012, has proved to be ultra-reliable and has seen very few updates that were required for reliability, although 2019 has seen the introduction of an E-Clutch system which provides drivers with a more consistent feel, over the previous hydraulic system. Xtrac has a trailer providing sales and engineering support at every IndyCar event, such support is provided from an office situated in the famous Gasoline Alley during the month of May. Additionally, Xtrac have prepared many of the gearboxes that will be used during the race at their facility in Indianapolis and have also provided a gearbox technician to a several teams for ratio changes during the practice and qualifying sessions. Gutted. 😫 Despite the end result, What an experience it was to start off pole position at the British GP on my return to @fiaf3, unfortunately I fluffed the start (4years of no standing starts took its toll 🤣) but I was running strongly in 3rd, then at the halfway point I had a fuel pump failure and didn’t finish... We deserved more after getting the teams best qualifying of the season on Friday and a P10 on Saturday we were having a strong weekend. @carlinracing did a mega job, we learnt huge amounts across the two weekends and took huge steps forward! Big thanks to my engineer @jimcrocker1985 mechanic @swchilds92 and the rest of the F3 crew for the mega job! Final round of the CIK FIA European Championship was not how we wanted it to end. Missing out on a 2 day test and having technical issues didn’t help my qualifying where I was 41st. I worked hard in the heats but one poor heat put my starting position much further back for the final. I was determined for a good result. I started 29th and made one of my best starts gaining 15 positions in two laps. However on lap 4 an engine issue forced me to retire. We now have a quick turnaround for round 2 and 3 for the @wsk_promotion Euro Series. Big-Block Supermodifieds Return To Thompson For World Series NAPLES, ME (September 25) – Officials from the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that the Big-Block Supermodifieds of ISMA will be returning to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for the 58th Annual World Series Of Speedway Racing. The ISMA Supermodifieds are one of 19 divisions that will be racing at Thompson as part of the World Series from Friday, October 9th through Sunday, October 11th. The breathtaking Big-Block Supermods will compete for 50 laps and will join the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season finale, along with the PASS Super Late Models on the final day of racing. “The ISMA Supermodifieds are one of the most exciting divisions in pavement racing and we are happy to bring them back for their traditional visit to Thompson as part of the World Series, said PASS President Tom Mayberry. The World Series is one of the biggest weekends of racing in New England and we are really happy to provide such a great card of short track racing to our fans. The first ISMA Supermodified race to be held at Thompson as part of the World Series was in 1975 and was won by 9-time NASCAR Modified Champion, Richie Evans. Since ISMA returned to the World Series at Thompson in 2010, legendary names like Chris Perley, Ben Seitz, Dave Shullick, Jr., and Jon McKennedy have taken their Supermodifieds to the hallowed frontstretch victory lane. Action will begin at Thompson Speedway on Friday, October 9th and will showcase feature races at approximately 6 PM for the STAR Late Models, Open Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks, STAR Modifieds, and Street Stock Open. SuperFormula第2戦岡山大会 予選2位 決勝9位でした。 代替選手として参戦する事になり、沢山の不安がありました。しかし、練習から少しずつ手応えを感じる事が出来ました。 予選では、Q1,Q2でトップタイムを出し、Q3はセットアップ、走らせ方で判断ミスをしてしまい、ポールポジションを獲得出来ませんでした。 決勝は、ロングラン、ハンドクラッチでのスタート、ピットストップ、様々な事が初めてでした。その中で出来る限り一所懸命走りましたが、ピットストップのタイミング等で順位を落としました。 しかし、決勝も沢山の事を得る事ができました。 今回この機会を与えて下さった関係者皆様には、とても感謝してます。 ここまで順調に行くとは、全く想像してませんでしたし、素晴らしい車を仕上げてくれたチームにも感謝してます。 今週末も応援ありがとうございました！ 物凄く楽しかった。また乗りたい。その為にももっと頑張ろう。 #superformula #japan #motorsport #okayama #teamtoms #likes #応援ありがとうございました - @ritomomiyata on Instagram
