I have one area in the back of my head where the hair always breaks off. Sometimes I fall asleep with my hair in a ponytail and this is a contributing factor. A high ponytail is a chic and easy go to look but if you aren’t careful it can cause damage. The hair at the front hairline and throughout the crown is the most delicate and regularly tying it up in the same spot can weaken the hair and cause breakage. Another bad habit of mine is towel drying my hair. Below we are going to give you tips and tricks for stronger locks. Always make sure your hair is dry when you tie it up. When your hair is wet, it’s at its weakest and tying it up can cause it to break. Use a wet brush on damp hair. Using nylon or boar bristles on wet hair can cause breakage. Also, don’t brush from the root. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Wear your hair down when you sleep. Sleeping with a ponytail can cause your hair to pull as you move your head around. Use a serum or leave in conditioner on your hair before putting it into a ponytail. This will ensure your hair is smooth and hydrated, helping your hair tie to glide over your hair easily. Give your hair a break by switching up your ponytail height and alternating with looser styles. Constantly tying it tightly in the same spot can weaken the hair. Use a non damaging hair tie. A hair tie with metal on it can snag the hair and super tight elastic ties can dent the hair and cause breakage. The hair tie sits in a very delicate place, when it’s in a ponytail. In order to protect your hair, use a non damaging hair tie or a scrunchie. Don’t pull at the hairline too tightly. The hair is weakest around this area and constant tight pulling can shock the hair follicles, causing breakage and damage. Remove your hair tie carefully. Here’s the difference between the modern “workout shoes”. And @vivobarefoot minimalist shoes. As you can see when I try to spread my toes they go over the sides (right). As I spread my toes for the Primus Trail FG my toes are still within the outer portions of the shoes. 🥳🥳🥳 Passed the half way point on my weightloss goal today, nearly 2 stone lighter than I was before lockdown. Really the only silver lining of lockdown for me was that for whatever reason it flipped a switch in my head and I set about getting healthier again... To be honest I probably passed the halfway point a few weeks ago because it took me about a month before I even stepped on a scales, but as of now Im both the lightest and healthiest Ive been in about 3 years, hopefully be down to my birth weight before the end of the year 😝 - @mc_savy on Instagram

Feeling blessed to live in one of the safest places in New Jersey. Avalon, Stone Harbor and Sea Isle combining for only 8 active cases total at the moment and 0 fatalities from Covid. Also one of the safest counties- recording 28 fatalities (of 86 total deaths in county) outside of nursing homes since the beginning of the pandemic. With a year round population of about 91,000 and summer population in the hundreds of thousands, it is good news that our area has been relatively safe. State wide we are seeing (if you count all the recorded hospitalizations as purely covid based) up to 450 people in the hospital- .005% of state population. This is a minuscule number and whether you attribute the success to Murphy’s actions or call the whole thing a hoax, I think we can all agree that it’s time to open up indoor dining in NJ or at least Cape May County. - @whitebrier on Instagram

Protein is what I call the dietary equalizer. When you match protein and calories in any type of diet, then what happens is they all work about the same in terms of fat loss. - This is why that calories+protein are the key in terms of fat loss, and muscle retention. Not just “calories in and out”. - Because protein, in overfeeding situations (hypercaloric) isnt stored as fat. - In 2012 the Bray study did a study using a low, medium, and high protein group. The low protein group gained the least amount of weight. But the medium and high protein groups didnt gain any more bodyfat than the low group, but added significant lean tissue in these 8 weeks. - So eat all the protein for more muscle right? - The flaw here for lifters is that these were not resistance trained subjects. - Enter Antonio 2014. Where he did an overfeeding study with protein, and used resistance trained folk. - Antonio used a control group and a high protein group. The CG consumed about 1.8 grams of protein per kg and the HP consumed about 4.4 grams per kilo. - This study showed that the HP group did not gain any weight in the form of excess fat mass. Remember, they were hypercaloric here. So a calorie is just a calorie is getting choke slammed to hell in this study results. - To quote... - Moreover, there were no significant changes over time or between groups for body weight, fat mass, fat free mass, or percent body fat. - The results of the current investigation do not support the notion that consuming protein in excess of purported needs results in a gain in fat mass. Certainly, this dispels the notion that ‘a calorie is just a calorie.’ - The HP groups NOT gain any excess fat from the extra protein calories. Fat free mass accrual was slightly higher in the HP groups, but not “statistically significant.” - Your takeaway. - 1. Morgen können sich vor allem in Bayern, Baden-Württemberg und Sachsen entlang einer Konvergenz heftige Gewitter bilden. Diese können von Starkregen, Hagel und Sturmböen begleitet werden. Vorher gelangt im Warmsektor des Tiefs noch einmal energiereiche Luft in die später von den Gewittern betroffenen Regionen. Während es im Norden eher kalt ist (um die 20 Grad Celsius), gibt es im Süden verbreitet über 25 Grad, in Südostbayern sind sogar Werte um die 30 Grad Celsius möglich. I hit a huge wall in my weightloss journey after my initial push. Ive been trying to hit 223 for over 3+ months. I was stuck at the 230 - 235 lb range since May, albeit my body composition was slowly changing as well. 💪🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I made the decision to be active every day for the past 30 days to finally reach my goal weight. On September 1st I weighed in at 235 lbs after a weekend of drinking and eating like a fool because I needed a mental break. I felt like shit afterwards and I slightly injured myself while running with @belle_dlreyes . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This gave me 10 days to drop 12 lbs. 😭 But I didnt give up. If anything it made me push myself even harder. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And here I am now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sitting at 223 lbs. Goal Accomplished. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the lightest Ive probably been since 2007. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WORD OF ADVICE: Constantly ask yourself How badly do I want it? No one else will put in the work for you. People say they need others to push them, personal trainers, the gym, etc. to stay motivated and work towards being healthy. Sure those things may help you short term, but if you take any of those things away...where do you stand? Will you still put in the work? What did you do during quarantine? I say this as nicely as possible, but if you’re getting married right now the likelihood of cancellations is going to be BIG. And guess what, you can’t really be upset about that. There is still a pandemic out there, and I’m all for trucking ahead if that’s what you really want but having a smaller wedding, having people get tested before and just being careful could go a lot longer of a way of making your day special.
