It has been a bizarre year so far but still managed to get some shooting in. Was able to shoot USA Archerys Indoor Nationals, Target Nationals and US Open and well as NFAA indoor sectionals. I was fortunate enough to take home the win at indoor Nationals, Target Nationals, NFAA sectionals and second in the US Open. Was also fortunate enough to get a couple World Archery target World records. This was the first year that World Archery adopted world records for barebow for Target and Indoors. Photographed here at Flying Legends in 2019, sad to report that a month ago this beautiful aircraft had to make a forced landing on a routine flight from Duxford Aerodrome, crashing into a field and then hitting trees at some speed after suspected engine failure. Mercifully neither the pilot nor his passenger were badly injured, but the aircraft sustained considerable damage, the fuselage breaking in two just forward of the pilot’s seat. Whether she will ever fly again and live up to her ‘Invincible’ nickname is open to question – it’s always so tragic when these precious aircraft are lost. Let’s hope she can be restored and rebuilt. , commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, were unable to safely take flight today. The Arsenal of Democracy presented a video tribute on behalf of the Bob and Delores Hope Foundation, the U.S. Department of Defense and other sponsors. The tribute includes footage of the rarest WWII aircraft and interviews with veterans participating in the aerial tribute, which can be viewed on the Arsenal of Democracy’s Facebook and YouTube pages. The authorization to fly through the Washington D.C. restricted airspace will expire today and rescheduling the flying portion of the program is unfortunately not an option. The Arsenal of Democracy Executive Committee released the following statement regarding being unable to take flight as planned: “We are disappointed that we could not deliver the planned aerial tribute that our World War II veterans and heroes deserve for their selfless service to our nation and the world. Here are the interior pics! Because there are so many things to show, I will separate the interior in several posts (3 more or less). In this post I am showing the smaller cockpit area which is located in the back of the Juggernaut. I did a numbered description to help understanding what you see . The first picture shows the body detached from the chassi, it can easily be separated because it is only attached with sporadic studs (the entire moc is built this way). . The second picture shows the lowest deck of the Juggernaut. . The third picture shows how to access the smaller cockpit. . The fourth picture shows the “doors” to the cockpit and the stairs that lead to the deck below. . The fifth picture reveals the area underneath the cockpit, where the stairs lead to. It also shows the hatch that leads to the lower deck. . The sixth picture, still in the same deck as the previous one, reveals a little bit better what is a maintenance bay. . And finally, seventh picture shows the subassemblies of the cockpit area (side and top panels, decks, etc). . 1 - studs that connect the MOC. Because they are so sporadic, they create enough friction to lock the subassemblies in place, but are easy to detach and prevent chunks of parts getting out of place. 2 - the lowest deck of the juggernaut, this is the area where the back entrance is accessed. 3 - the smaller cockpit. It has 2 seats pilot and copilot, which also works as a gunner. I tried making this as accurate to the cross sections of the movie has possible! 4 - ladder that gives access to the lower deck. In front of the ladder there’s a corridor and a hatch (not visible in the picture) 5 - maintenance bay. It has 4 small hatches that give access to wires and controls inside. This area can be replaced with a armory, I haven’t decided yet. . . I Just completed one of my favorite ejection seats the Aerospace Escapes Collection of @philippetondeur1 and my self. This an actual Stencel SJU-4/A seat from a USMC AV-8B- but it is also THE movie prop seat out of the hit movie True Lies staring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Arnold and of course Jamie Lee Curtis. While a completely over the top action adventure flick, you have to love the scenes shot with both real Harriers and a spectacular 1 to 1 scale mockup (which utilized many real parts like this seat) - James Cameron is known for attention to detail with cool machinery in film. As it came, it was only 40 percent a seat and in poor condition. Thrilled its ready for display along with all of the other Stencel seat types. We also have another SJU-4/A which is Grey with Red Cushions and is from the Lockheed XF-35A JSF Prototype program where those seats were used in each of the 2 LM JSF Prototype Birds. Всем привет!!! Сегодня я хочу вам рассказать одну интересную особенность. Для начала задам вам вопрос. Как вы думаете, с каким курсом летит грач на фотографии в Краснодарском крае? 🔸 Возможно, вы сразу же правильно ответили. А для кого возникла трудность, рассказываю. Начну издалека. Наверное вы слышали такую фразу: штурмовики летают по кустам. Причин для этого несколько. Самолёт одноместный, нет штурмана, который бы вёл счисление пути, к тому же Су-25 часто летает низко, и летчику некогда смотреть карту из-за условий безопасности. Приходится изучать маршрут и привязываться к характерным ориентирам. И самое главное. Особенность лётчика-штурмовика в том, что он привык смотреть на землю. Ведь там их приветствуют любители грачей, а плохие бармалеи пытаются спрятаться. (отсюда и пошло название самолёту Грач, как способность выклёвывать врага из труднодоступных мест). Теперь плавно подхожу к ответу на мой вопрос. Если обратить внимание на фотографию, можно заметить, что поля все прямоугольной формы. Не знаю какой гений додумался, но все они в Краснодарском крае расположены длинной стороной от севера на юг. Не верите? Посмотрите спутниковые карты. Поэтому правильный ответ - курс грача в районе 220-230 градусов (солнце светит слева). Так что я очень надеюсь что в Краснодарском крае теперь вы не заблудитесь. Особенно на предстоящих выходных. С пятницей, друзья😉!!! 🔸 Кстати, впервые подсказал мне эту особенность летчик, который летает на самолётах Ту-134 и Ту-154. Наверное, он в душе тоже штурмовик, как и его родной брат. THE LAST DIVE-BOMBER Had it entered the Second World War sooner, the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver might have received a warmer welcome. But the dive-bomber’s introduction into service had been hampered by multiple delays. A prototype crashed two months after its maiden flight, a later version suffered structural failure of a wing during a diving test—killing the pilot—and, at one point during its development, the U.S. Navy demanded more than 880 modifications. Worse, the Helldiver had the misfortune of replacing the immensely popular Douglas SBD Dauntless—a light, maneuverable aircraft that had disabled three Japanese carriers at the Battle of Midway in less than eight minutes. While the SBD had been dubbed “slow but deadly,” the SB2C became known among mechanics as “Son of a Bitch 2nd Class.” And yet during the two years following its combat debut on November 11, 1943, the Helldiver sank more Japanese targets in the Pacific than any other U.S. or Allied aircraft. The Helldiver was faster than the Dauntless and could deliver its bombs with more precision. Ginivex-Class Starfighter My version of this ship, inspired by Caleb Smith, is now full complete and I also made a custom display stand, which allows to show it in its full glory. The model looks simimilar to the original one, but I completly rebuilt the inner structure, to optimalize parts usage and connections. I changed a lot of detais too, such as the blaster turrets, the landing pads and the cockpit including an accurate controls. I added some transparent pieces as propulsions. I moved bots side parts 1 stud forward for more accurate porpotions. I made a custom display stand too, which is attached to just one side, so it doesnt covers the wing and its easy to remove. Progress update for fhe Tamiya Ducati Panigale 1199s. Been continuously working on this project for 6 days. The innards for the Panigale has been completed. Next, Ill be tackling the front Öhlins forks along with the dash, panels, front brakes etc. Lets see what happens for next week! This is my first ever motorcycle plastic model project. Tried out a lot of new things including replicating that burnt titanium header, and creating carbon fibre effects. And I gotta say, Tamiya is simply amazing in providing all the details in the plastic. Really makes you feel youre building the real thing. Первый полёт Су-27К состоялся 17 августа 1987 года, а 1 ноября 1989 года Су-27К впервые в СССР осуществил взлёт и посадку «по-самолётному» на авианесущий крейсер «Адмирал флота Советского Союза Кузнецов». Принят на вооружение 31 августа 1998 года. Су-33 имеет большую грузоподъёмность и дальность. С 2016 года самолёт проходит модернизацию. Возобновлено производство двигателей «АЛ-31Ф серии 3» для Су-33, а также начата модернизация самолёта установкой прицельной системы СВП-24. Just finished the kit I began at the start of lockdown 6 months ago, the Airfix 1:48 Bristol Blenheim MkI. It’s been fun to build and kept me out of mischief. Finally got my old art college airbrush working properly on this, and painted using Tamiya acrylics.
