Sim, a maior potência do trabalho terapêutico reside no vínculo entre o profissional e o sujeito, mas o psicólogo não é amigo. A terapia é um trabalho de construção: a parceria, acolhimento, ausência de julgamentos e a escuta qualificada são os materiais para aquele que busca ajuda construir seu caminho de autoconhecimento, amor próprio e conforto em ser quem é. O psicólogo estuda MUITO, de maneira formal e na sua própria terapia para afinar cada vez mais a capacidade de ouvir as mensagens por trás do discurso, questionar o que precisa e propor novas alternativas de pensamentos, comportamentos e manejo de emoções. Um bom processo terapêutico é bem mais intenso, afinado e verdadeiro que muita amizade por aí.
