Henry Holley—a dear friend to the Graham family and @bgea—went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at the age of 92. Mr. Holley served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for more than 45 years, faithfully working behind the scenes to plan and organize some of Billy Graham’s largest international events. Most notably, he and his wife, Bettie, spent more than a year in Seoul to prepare for Mr. Graham’s 1973 Crusade there. By the end of it all, an estimated 3.2 million people attended the Seoul Crusade (pictured above), and 75,000 made decisions for Christ. The historic event was Billy Graham’s largest ever Crusade. The 2018 TPON TIME Person of the Year: Frank V. Johnson “Usher for a New Era” - On February 20, 2018, Frank Veto Johnson was sworn in as the 30th President of TPON as a Republican from Ohio. Johnson had just won an election of the closest margins, overcoming Senator Warren by just one vote. That one vote may have very well changed the history of our simulation as we know it. Johnson had campaigned heavily on total sim reform. His involvement in the creation of the “TPON 2.0” plan, which outlined some sensible and in other aspects drastic changes to the way TPON operates laid the foundation for goals as President. Some of these goals were included resetting TPON as we know it. Less than a month before Johnson swore in, the new US and TPON Constitutions were officially ratified. Johnson took part in the writings of these Constitutions, being the principal writer of the TPON Constitution in particular. Through the ratification of these Constitutions, Johnson laid the groundwork for the reset. The reset had long been one of TPON’s most controversial issues. When the Constitution was ratified, and Johnson elected as President, he knew he had to be the one to finally turn back the clocks. On March 8th, 2018, President Johnson along with Joseph Pitts and John N. Tesla submitted their final version of the “Reset Act” which after intense debate in Congress made it to Johnson’s desk and thus signed into law. On April 3, 2018, TPON officially rewinded back 86 years smoothly, squashing all of the anti-reset concerns. The bloom of activity following the reset is regarded as one of TPON’s most active period. Despite Johnson serving only one term (albeit extended to 91 days due to new Constitutional provisions), he signed 42 pieces of legislation into law, vetoed 12, and issued numerous executive orders in-line with his Republican platform. In addition, Johnson set a new standard for how to operate the Executive, respond to events, and engage the world. Following his one-term tenure as President, Johnson continued to serve in TPON by authoring and moderating numerous events (which he still does). During 50 years as pastor of Shaws New Bethel Baptist Church and 20 years as DCs first elected delegate to Congress, Rev. Walter Fauntroy was often in the room when it happened. He was at Martin Luther King, Jr.s side at the 1963 March on Washington,. He watched Lyndon Johnson sign the Civil Rights Act. He walked through the ruins of Shaw with Robert. Kennedy after the 1968 riots. He led Urban Renewal effortstgat resulted in new schools and housing in Shaw. He campaigned for Home Rule for DC alongside Marion Barry and led protests at the South African Embassy. He celebrated countless events in the life of the community and Church members. The USSR under the leadership Joseph Stalin had a policy of giving food aid to help the proletariat all over the world in times of starvation. This is a natural part of our communist internationalism, we aid the proletariat across the globe. The USSR under Joseph Stalin’s leadership was generous in this aspect. Two examples are Albania in 1945, and India in 1947. . . In 1947, Stalin helped stave off a potential hunger which could’ve killed millions, now in India, a nation which was not a people’s democracy like Albania, but a non-socialist, semi-feudal country. The Soviet sent tonnes of food aid as fast as the Indian leadership asked, whilst the American bureaucrats pondered on how much and when and why they would even send food aid to India. Stalin himself said: «Documents can wait, hunger cannot». And it is worth noting how only a few years before then, Winston Churchill committed a genocide against the Bengal people in India, denying any food aid nor any reliefs to the poor people dying of hunger, only replying by blaming Indians for “breeding like rabbits”, and asking how, if the shortages were that bad, Mahatma Gandhi was still alive. (2nd slide). . . Albanian communist leader, Enver Hoxha writes: «In 1945, when our people were threatened with starvation, comrade Stalin ordered the ships loaded with grain». The USSR again helped stave off a famine which could’ve killed thousands of Albanians, and later the USSR would send lots of more food stuff and technology to help develop this small backwards state in Southeastern Europe. (3rd slide). . . Most importantly, it must be noted that Stalin, of course, as a great proletarian leader, aided his own people, the Soviet people. When the greedy Kulaks hoarded their grain, burnt their crops and slaughtered their cattle, triggering a hunger catastrophe which killed millions, Stalin sent thousands of tonnes of food aid to help as best as possible save the victims (primarily in Ukraine). The 4th slide is a document which explains exactly how much and what food stuff was sent to aid the victims of the Kulak’s greed. (4th slide). - @popmarxism on Instagram

Arlen Parsa, a documentary filmmaker in Chicago, edited John Trumbull’s historic painting “Declaration of Independence” (1818) to mark every man who owned slaves with a red dot: a total 34 out of the 47 men pictured, most of whom were signers of the Declaration. Out of the five-man committee that drafted the document, depicted in Trumbull’s painting handing John Hancock an early copy, only two — John Adams and Roger Sherman — did not own enslaved people. Robert Livingston, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin were all enslavers (as was Hancock).⁣ ⁣ “There were no gentle slaveholders,” Parsa told me. “Countless children were born into slavery and died after a relatively short lifespan never knowing freedom for even a minute. Jefferson, a man instrumental in creating the Declaration of Independence, held over 600 men, women, and children, in chains for his own profit. He freed less than 10, passing the rest on to his daughter as inheritance. Have you ever thought about what you would do if war broke out in your home country? Yesterday I spent the afternoon with photo-journalist Hazir Reka / @hazirreka listening to stories and looking through his archive. As a student Hazir would be on the front-line of protests in Kosovo documenting the fight against authoritarianism, by the time war had broken out he found himself at the centre of the bloodiest conflict Europe had seen since WWII. After the fall of Yugoslavia, Kosovo faced aggressive expansion from Serbian Forces. Villages were burned to the ground, civilians were tortured, raped and brutally murdered. Hundreds of thousands fled the country as Kosovo lay as a centre ground in a battle between East vs West. Following a NATO led intervention, and the deaths of thousands more, the conflict came to an end in 1999 and in 2008 they gained their independence. The country today still faces a battle to stabilise their democracy and eradicate Sectarian division but they are on the path to forge their own future. I don’t think anyone really knows what they’d do during a war, until they are in one. For many the fight will be fought with guns, but for Hazir, he fought with his camera. He, and others like him, expose the reality of war, they force us to watch and without them the Kosovo I’m standing in today, would be a different place altogether. It’s taken me a few days to articulate the overwhelming feeling of emotion I’ve felt from the number of messages I’ve had following my Podcast from a few days ago. In which I opened up about aspects of my life that I’ve only started to understand in self reflection stemming from my desire to strive to be the best version of myself that represents my values and traits. This isn’t about being perfect and self righteous or thinking I’ll never have moments or periods again where I’ll become a Pratt and wish I’d handled events differently! But the realisation that life is not always going to be easy and there are always lessons to learn from and improve. Using my podcast as platform to voice and acknowledge past events has been liberating and rewarding! My sincere thanks to everyone who took the time to message me and I am truly touched at some of the stories people have been kind enough to share and I consider that a privilege to be able to hear other people’s stories.
