I was an assistant on the Glee tour in 2009, and then I moved to LA in 2010 to work on set. I ran into Naya at a bar - we hadn’t seen each other in a year. I didn’t really have any friends in LA yet. She was wearing overalls and a bra. That’s it. And she was killing it. Obviously. She said, “Let’s hang out,” grabbed my phone and punched her number in. And so it began. She took me under her wing. Brought me into her crew. It didn’t matter that I was a lowly assistant at the time. When I think of my first four years in Los Angeles, I think of Naya. Being in Naya’s presence made me feel larger than life. It was like anxious Megan absorbed Naya’s fearless spirit by osmosis. When you were around her, you just . . . bloomed. Anyone in Naya’s crew had a feisty, witty, 110 pound bodyguard on their side. She always had a mischievous glimmer in her eye and she always knew more than she let on. She was the rock of her family. She had a knack for seeing through someone’s bullshit, and she knew if I was lying when I said I was okay. She also had a knack for dropping a filthy one-liner, exiting the room and leaving us with our jaws on the floor. She didn’t know how fucking beautiful she was, but I believe she knew how talented she was, and I loved that about her. Watching Naya perform everyday, whether she was on Glee set knocking out a 3 page monologue in one take, or belting Amy Winehouse in her car, or performing a lazy striptease during our talent shows - it never grew old, she always took my breath away. People grow apart, drift in and out of your life. I always figured she would drift back into mine. Naya was a force. I feel lucky to have known and loved her. Tell your people you love them. Throwback to when Sam Sure and Giacomo supported Xzibit for the UK leg of his tour.. it was a real honour. “At the speed of life” was one of the big records from my childhood so to hang out and play a few shows with him was beyond a dream. The final night was at the O2 Bristol and after the show we was all having a drink backstage. There was like 15 of us and a few fans. The vibe was a bit intense but also amazing. I sat with ‘X’ while he chain smoked the strongest weed I’ve ever smelt and we talked about old hip hop, his life and the potential of doing a record together (we was really high) It was getting late and everyone was hungry. I suggested we got a curry, neither X or his entourage had ever had one so they were keen to try. Jay our drummer got straight on it and booked a table for 15 at a local indian restaurant. Around 45 mins later I started trying rally 12 dudes out of the venue to go to the restaurant which is impossible to do in a cool way, I imagine I would have sounded like Will from the inbetweeners to them. Now something happen.. I can’t fully remember how it started, all I know is we was a bit mashed and Giac put it in my head that X and his team weren’t going to like a shitty Bristol curry... and we was both so stoned that we started pranging out. We got outside and Giac just started running. I didn’t know why he was running but I just instinctively ran after him and jay followed. By the time we caught up with Giac we was all in fits of laughter and to this day I can’t work out why we ditched a hungry Xzibit and his whole team in the the middle of Bristol.. but it still cracks me up to think of it. I should also add that we went to the curry house that jay booked. Just the 3 of us. There was a massive table for 15 laid out ready and I recon X might have liked it if only we had told him the address. 🤣🤣 - @samsuremusic on Instagram

There are no words to describe what Im feeling. You were one of the greatest to ever do it. Ive rooted for you and against you watching you do the unthinkable. You amazed all of us night after night. Speaking to my mom about what happened today really hit home and how terrible she felt about this loss. Growing up in Brooklyn watching NBA was a huge bond for us and you were a big part of it. 365 days - one whole year. My little brother, I cant believe its been one year since you got your angel wings. The past year has been the nightmare that I cant seem to wake up from. I still cant believe that this isnt a dream and youre really never coming home. Douglas, I miss you more than anything. I miss seeing all your plates in your room, the smoke detector going off every time you made salmon or steak, our pointless conversations where it was a mix of movie quotes and actual conversation, joking that you were my bodyguard and of course the famous strip shows. When you lose a sibling you also lose a part of yourself; I lost you one year ago but I also lost me. Crying on the shower floor or in the car and sleeping in your bed are the new norm. Doug, you truly graced the lives of every single person that you met; I just wish you couldve seen how special you were in the eyes of everyone else. I love you so much my big-little brother and I hope the darkness has cleared for you; the chaos has gone and youve found the happiness you deserve. I am absolutely torn and heartbroken. Erick Morillo was not one of my favorite house DJs; he was my only favorite. I idolized him for as long as I can remember. I’ve always strived to emulate his mixing style and my taste in house music is because of him. He was a living legend I had the honor of meeting on multiple occasions. It got to the point where he’d recognize me and @djambition anytime we went to one of his events. Recent news around him is most likely the reason of his passing and I wish he had more help to get through whatever demons were haunting him. Most kids looked up to sports athletes, I looked up to @erickmorillo RIP to my idol. He was playing baseball at the time. Were asked to be ball boys by dads old buddy. Feet not on ground. Rebounding for Gary Payton, a rookie Jason Kidd, Penny, when the place goes electric. Never heard anything louder in my life. I’m concentrating on rebounding so I don’t turn around until I nearly get knocked over by a bowling ball of photographers. I turn around and there’s Jordan 1 foot from me. He looks at me and asks for the ball. I passed the best pass anyone who’s ever thrown a pass in history of passes has ever passed. Both thumbs completely out and strong. He shoots. I’m blinded by flashes. He makes it...of course, but im nervous for him cuz hes been away playing baseball. Kobe changed the course of my life and I want to honor him. He’s the reason I moved to LA. He wanted to come out with a rap album and he allowed me to write the treatment to the video which is why I moved to LA. He got me a job as a PA on a Destiny’s child music video. We won’t a state championship together. We won Philadelphia’s 3 on 3 Hoop it up. He was misunderstood. Every time I saw him after his stardom he asked how my family was, my parents, my sister and thanked me for 2 free throws I hit in HS - he never forgot that - he was competitive AF. In my days as a showrunner I called him and asked if he read any books about leadership and asked for his thoughts. He told me he looked at nature and observed - he was a lion. I learned a lot from that. He will forever have a place in the story of my life and my friends lives. I’m grateful to have witnessed greatness, an incredible work ethic and honored to have called him my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his surviving family. - @davidlasman on Instagram

I remember when my husband @nickwilliams_98 and I first started dating. It was almost 8 years ago. Now, with four years of marriage under our belt and two kids later, I can safely, honestly, and easily say that we have had our fair share of arguments and fights in the past and in the present. Yes, we fight just like everyone else. You see, no relationship is perfect or devoid of conflict. In fact, every single relationship will go through it because we are all imperfect, sinful human beings. Last time I checked, Nick wasn’t Jesus and neither was I. And, if you haven’t encountered conflict in your relationship yet, don’t worry your time is coming. Because, let’s be real fighting is inevitable, BUT (and that’s a big BUT) it doesn’t have to be detrimental. What I have learned in my short time dating, being engaged, and now being married with kids is this: the problem is not that we fight, it’s that we have to know how to fight right.
