𝐈𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐦𝐞 𝟏𝟖 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝟗𝟑 𝐥𝐛𝐬!⁣ ⁣ When I got started on my journey I was clueless when it came to nutrition and losing weight. My first actions was cutting out sweets and soda combined with taking a few walks every week. I was not perfect, I frequently binged and made mistakes. However I stayed consistent and kept moving forward. Despite these obstacles I managed to lose about about 40 pounds in the following ~7 months.⁣ ⁣ This was when I hit my first platue, I didnt realize it at the time but I was no longer in a calorie deficit. My ego wanted me to find the solution but after weeks of research I was confused, frustrated by the conflicting information. I had serious case of information overload, my head hurt, I finally decided to give in and ask for help.⁣ ⁣ That was a life changing moment for me, it didnt take me long before I received help, it was available all along but I wasnt looking for it so I couldnt find it. ⁣ ⁣ I got guidance from a knowledgeable person and the pounds started melting off again, I was also introduced to the gym. I was scared about going there, afraid that people would judge me or laugh at my weight. When I managed to face my fear I realized that none of the worst case scenarios that I had imagined actually happened. ⁣ ⁣ For the first time in my life I started developing some confidence, it was so damn satisfying to watch the fat getting replaced with muscle. ⁣ ⁣ 18 months after starting my journey I was down to a healthy weight that I was satisfied with, I almost lost 100 lbs and I have now kept it of for more than 5 years. ⁣ ⁣ I want to emphasize the fact that I had no idea what I was doing when I got started, I made so many mistakes along the way, despite this I managed to succeed. Simply because I was focused on being consistent, not perfect! After 16 years of being sober, actor and comedian Dax Shepard revealed he has been battling an opioid addiction. The revelation came Friday during the latest episode of his popular podcast Armchair Expert. An episode I hoped Id never have to record, but one I felt I owed to all the beautiful Armcheries who have been on this ride with me for the last couple years, Shepard said in an Instagram post announcing the episode. In the episode, Shepard -- known for his roles on Parenthood -- detailed the bumps of his journey, most recently dealing with an addiction to Vicodin, the opioid painkiller. For the last eight weeks, he said, he had been on them all day, after taking them originally for injuries. This led to a situation where he was taking, you know, eight 30s a day, and I know thats an amount thats going to result in a pretty bad withdrawal. And I start getting really scared, and Im starting to feel really lonely. And I just have this enormous secret. At first Shephard said he tried to fix the problem himself by slowly weaning off the pills -- but it didnt work. But this month, he revealed his addiction to wife Kristen Bell and his friends. As of Friday, he is on day 11 of being sober once more. Shepard has previously dealt with addiction to cocaine and alcohol, which he says he has not touched in 16 years.
