Esta es la nueva botella de #Novello, un litro del primer aceite de oliva virgen extra sin filtrar. Pura expresión del trabajo de todo el año, de la naturaleza, de este lugar del mundo. La ilustración es un olivo, con el verde profundo de su fronda, cargado de aceitunas. Justo antes de la cosecha. Una ilustración que nació para nuestra anterior ánfora y que brilla como nunca en nuestro flamante nuevo botellón. Así la fotografió Eduardo Torres @etorresfotografia, un amante del Aceite de Oliva, que sabe cómo lo hacemos, de dónde viene. Que caminó los olivares, que sintió el perfume en el aire, que conoce el sonido del viento moviendo las hojas. Él quiso que en la imagen haya una rama de olivo y logró esta imagen, su imagen de Novello. Todas las botellas de Novello tienen el mismo aceite de oliva, pero no son iguales porque su camino sólo empieza en Mendoza y termina en cada uno de ustedes. Cada botella de Novello que abren está en un lugar distinto, imaginamos su curiosidad, la alegría, la intriga, el momento en que piensan para qué lo van a usar, cómo lo van a probar, cuando piensan cómo será el sabor y el aroma del primer aceite de oliva de este año. Nos gustaría ver la foto de esos momentos en que abren Novello. Pero aún sin verlos sabemos que ahí está el olivo, el trabajo que hacemos con esfuerzo y pasión y el mismo paisaje que inspiró a Eduardo para retratar su imagen de Novello. The wait is over, after 6.5 years we’re finally ready to share our Whisky with the world. 😊🥃🌍 Our AD/ Batch: 01 is bottled at 46.8% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured. 16,000 bottles will be dispatched from our warehouse in Fife starting from October 5th. It will be available in all good whisky shops at an RRP of £45. A list of our international stockists is available on our Adelphi Selection website. We produce two signature styles of spirit, one peated and one unpeated. The distillery was designed to produce a full flavoured malt true to its location (West Highland). The single malt will comprise a 50/50 split of peated and unpeated whiskies, matured in a 65%/35% mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak casks. The AD/ Batch: 01 tasting notes includes; honeycomb, waxy peel, oyster shells, brine, strawberries with black pepper and bonfire embers. Ardnamurchan Managing Director, Alex Bruce said “When we filled the first spirit into casks, just over 6 years ago, the concept of being able to disgorge those casks into bottles seemed very distant. However, we have had an incredible journey, building our 100% local team, filling the warehouses with over 10,000 casks and preparing national and international distribution. The perfect serve for a mini heatwave from @30minutefoodie - a Lemon Rosemary Gin Fizz! Add 2oz BLOOM Original London Dry Gin, 1oz fresh lemon juice and 1oz rosemary simple syrup* to a rocks glass over ice and stir well. Top with a splash of lemon sparkling water and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a slice of lemon. *To make rosemary simple syrup, bring 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar to the boil, then turn off the heat, throw in a sprig of rosemary and leave to steep for 15 mins. It’s Thirsty Thursday and today I’m enjoying a nice big g&t with a new gin that arrived on my doorstep today. This gin comes to me from the fabulous kids @oldyoungsdistillery and is the first gin issued to members of their Juniper Society. I think you’re all going to love the name of this one, even if it is a bit naughty. This special, limited-release small batch gin is called “F*ck COVID”. Yep, it’s been crafted to send a big “F You” to the virus that has hit the whole World so hard. The virus that has had a HUGE impact on all businesses, small and large, and all people, old and young (see what I did there?). At 60% abv this gin is a big one but oh man, it is soooo smooth (thanks to the inclusion of the distillery’s own honey). With healing things like ginseng and a nice helping of Tasmanian pepperberries, this gin is savoury, smooth, spicy and delicious! Perfect for raising your glass to say “f*ck COVID!” I’m enjoying mine with @lovestrangelove Light Tonic, a dehydrated lemon wheel and a few Tasmanian pepperberries from @bushtuckershop and ERMAGHERD I’m in heaven. This 900L batch is a combination of two annual productions of mature Espadín made in March 2016 and March 2017. While Cándido and others generally separate each batch from the next, storage space for many palenqueros can be limited, and sometimes the logical move is to simply mix productions made from the same agave. Don Cándido selected 40 ripe magueyes in 2016 and 50 more the following year, harvested with his son, Heriberto, from their red earth tierra cascajo parcel known as La Mina, where the agave grows alongside food crops. Following an established recipe, the freshly harvested piñas were rested for eight days before roasting with mesquite wood for an additional eight days. The cooked maguey was uncovered and set to cool and rest for four days before processing with a machete and a small shredder. Sugar-rich, the dry fibers sat in Montezuma cypress sabino tanks for 48 hours before alerting the maestro to their need for water. Filling the vats with an equal part of well water, the guarape fermented for 10 days before double distillation in copper pot stills. Adjusted with a select cut of lower proof común for the second round of distillation, the alcohol levels were adjusted down until the presence of rich aromas and a proper cordón of bubbly perlas. The 2016 efforts yielded 400 liters; the process was repeated the following March to yield 500 liters. These 900L made from homegrown Espadín showcase the expertise of the maestro and provide much insight to the lands and practices that provide the aromas and flavors for which Miahuatlán is renowned. Fruity Friday A quick post tonight, to talk about todays unusual garnish- micro melons, also known as cucamelons. . These tiny watermelon looking fruit are grown on a vine and are about the size of grapes. But bite into one and it’s a pure taste of cucumber with a slight sour lime taste. . Even though they are small they pack a healthful punch. They are full of vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and fiber, and are also low in calories- bonus! 🤣 . It was an obvious choice of gin to use- @hendricksgin a classic gin which is served perfectly with cucumber, I cut and froze some of the cucamelons this morning into an ice tray and they worked really well. . I’m pretty sure most people have tried this gin already so there’s no need to talk about how amazing it is! . This is an ode to Covid where working sundays was a blast and everyone worked hard. A well earned drink at the end of a shift, and where we made a ton of jokes about bulldogs. I eventually said “you can bulldog anything” and said I was going to make a bunch of bulldog cocktails. While it is tricky to drink, and you would want a smaller jar thing to bulldog it with, it is very funny and this one goes out to @carterearlsopatyk @iamdarrenwilson and @redwords. Si torna in Spagna 🇪🇸 con #nordésgin più precisamente nella Galizia, terra di pescatori. Il gin prende il nome dal vento che arriva dal nord: Nordés. Prodotto nel 2012 con uno spirito base ottenuto dall’uva albariña, al quale vengono aggiunte delle varie botaniche sia locali che non: la salicornia marina perennemente legata alla nostalgia di casa, menta, eucalipto, alloro, salvia, ginepro, fiori di ibisco, the, cardamomo, zenzero. Le botaniche vengono macerate singolarmente e con tempistiche differenti: da qualche ora fino ad arrivare ad un paio di giorni. Nel profumo predominano il ginepro ed un bouquet fiorito. Nel gusto spicca ancora il ginepro accompagnato da note di menta e salvia. Balsamico, floreale e dal finale morbido e lungo. Sehen wir uns mal an, was in dieser schicken Flasche steckt! • Ich konnte mich wegen der Grenzschliessung relativ lang auf den Black Pig Gin – Costa Alentejana freuen und ich kann euch sagen, das Warten hat sich gelohnt! 💥 Die Alentejo Distillery befindet sich inmitten der Felder des inneren Alentejo, wo sich auch die namensgebenden „Pata Negra“ 🐖 frei umher bewegen können. In Handarbeit wird der Black Pig Gin traditionell im Kupferkessel hergestellt und alle Botanicals 🌿 stammen aus der Region oder kommen von der hauseigenen Farm. Toll! • Wie man dem Namen entnehmen kann, versuchte man hier die Küste Alentejos in eine Flasche zu packen: blaues Meer, goldene Sandstrände, monumentale Klippen und eine Portion Urlaubsfeeling. Und, hat’s geklappt? Ja! 👍 Das schwarze Schweinchen trifft definitiv meinen Geschmack. In der Nase kommt der 40% vol. Tropfen sehr sanft rüber und bringt blumige Noten 🌸 mit. Falls ihr auf Wacholder, Zitronen, Rosmarin, ein Hauch Lavendel, Ingwer und Polei-Minze steht, dann seid ihr hier absolut an der richtigen Adresse! Wenn ich drei Adjektive wählen müsste, dann wären es: mild, floral und lecker 😋! • • Mein Serve: • Viel Eis ❄️ • 5cl @black_pig_gin_germany • 15cl @fevertreemixers Mediterranean • Zitronenscheibe • Rosmarin • • Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass mir der Costa Alentejana sehr gut gefällt!👌 Ausserdem bin ich der Meinung, dass das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis aufgrund der hohen Qualität mehr als fair ist. This is the swimming pool that i want to 🏊🏻♂️ #silentpool , gin provato per la prima volta al ginday 2016, mi è piaciuto al primo assaggio. Prodotto con un alambicco scaldato a legna ma non a fiamma diretta. Profumatissimo, agrumato e floreale. Nel gusto, inconfondibile il ginepro che lascia spazio all’agrume e un allungo finale dolce, ben bilanciato. Silent pool prende il nome da un piccolo lago, dove secondo una leggenda, una fanciulla stava facendo il bagno quando il re passando da quelle parti ne fu attratto, cercò di farla uscire dall’acqua ma ella si spaventò e si immerse fino ad affogare. Da allora il suo fantasma infesta il lago. Se guardate attentamente la bottiglia, tra le immagini delle botaniche, troverete anche quella della fanciulla e del re a cavallo. 😁 - @gin.italia on Instagram
