Born this day: Eileen Gray. (9 August 1878 - 31 October 1976) . . Fortunately, Eileen Gray is no longer an overlooked heroine of modernism. Of the many reasons to celebrate her, the fact I love the most is the way she managed to get under the skin of Le Corbusier. Threatened by her strength of will and self-taught accomplishment - as played out through Grays beautiful E1027 architectural masterpiece - Corb built a cabana next door in order to keep a watchful eye on his adversary. The location of these two buildings in Roquebrune Cap-Martin is now known as Avenue le Corbusier. Much work still needs doing on behalf of Ms Gray to realign this injustice, but I think Ms Gray had the last laugh as her E1027 (thankfully) still reigns majestically over Corb’s little cabana. #WomenDesign #EileenGray #E1027 #capmoderne - @misslibbysellers on Instagram

Fashion show backstage experiences can be anywhere from mindnumbing to an enlightening borderline psychedelic trip depending on who you talk to and how much hairspray you breathe in. Sometimes however you forget to bring a book and are in your own world staring at an array of walls, ceilings, and floors after you’ve memorized everyone’s name, dietary preference, and country of origin.. Anyways.. these pics recently surfaced and reminded me on that day after havin a few coffee chats with a few extremely excited and exciting influencers (one of which preferred almond, the other, oat milk), I found a not-so-busy corner to write a dystopian short story after our nespresso (#notanad) machine broke and the conversations waned.. set in a world where nobody has anything tangible to do .. to resolve their perpetual angst and suffering they come to realize that the best way to help themselves is to help the other.. so they spend their time drinking coffee, helping other people feel as motivated as they do about helping eachother. But then the coffee runs out and all hell breaks loose as nobody is motivated to motivate and as such the next person is not motivated to motivate ... Anyways... feelin a bit fogged and far from motivated today, which begs the question should one be doing things they need incessant motivation to do? IDK the answer, but what I do know is that I have coffee and the help I need, #motivationmonday, is only four days away so I’ll keep doing em anyways!
