As shoots start to move again, and travel starts to re-emerge I continue to dive into moments of joy. Feels like a week it will be much needed in the world. 🙃 What is it, as it’s different for us all? Sometimes I meet people along my travels filled with joy. Filled with light. I remember meeting this incredible woman, I remember her energy, I remember the light in her eyes, I remember the positive that exuded from her being in every move. I think to my work, to the moments with in it being out in a constant ever changing space with such interesting people. And places. Being tasked with telling their stories. It always stops me in my tracks when I feel that energy, asking myself so many questions suddenly. Not just who is this amazing soul that I’ve just met, as yes I do ask that!!!! Yet what is their story. What is there most amazing? What is their very worst? What have they seen? What have they learned? What can I learn from them? I meet so many people in one year, so many people in one year maybe more than some people will meet in a lifetime. These days held up stateside thanks to many current travel restrictions still, due to covid respectfully. I think to all these lights. These lights that have shined on me from every corner of the world. It is the painful sensation or state of weakness caused by the need of food.✴️ . An estimate of 690 million people are going hungry, 2 billion suffering from malnutrition even though there is enough food, and resources for all‼️ . Hunger is in many cases a result of wars, plagues and adverse weather conditions. 🔺The FAOs 2017 report discussed three principal reasons for the recent increase in hunger: 1. climate 2. conflict 3. economic slowdowns. . What is more is that according to a report published by the World Bank, 60% of those who are hungry are female!🚺 . Many organisations are working tirelessly towards making the world Hunger free or providing as many as they can with the basic nutritional needs. But it all starts with you, and heres what we as an individual can do to help eradicate hunger from the World:-- ✓Please please dont waste FOOD! It is a blessing that you are being provided with food to eat. Respect it.🙏 ✓Dont throw away the food which you are unable to eat. You can give it to a person who is in need of it more than you. You can save a life like this.👍💪 ✓ If you are unable to go out and give the food out to someone else, you can put it on a plate out for the migrating birds.🐦 ✓ While attending parties and functions, make sure you fill your plate with food which you can eat. It hurts to see the food being thrown away.💔 ✓Donate if you can to organisations like FeedIndia, Feeding America, Action Against Hunger etc. ✓Spread awareness.✊🙌 . . There are dozens of tiny harbours in Kinshasa. They are all separate concessions. In a country the size of Europe, with limited and poor roads, the rivers are veritable lifelines. Bustling harbours like this one attract sellers, of cigarettes and alcohol, of streetfood or charcoal. Their customers are the crews of the many boats that moor here and the many passengers that board transport ships clandestinely. Kinshasa compte des dizaines de petits ports, autant de concessions distinctes. Dans un pays aussi grand que l’Europe, où le réseau routier est peu et mal développé, les cours d’eau en sont la sève. Des bateaux chargés de sacs de charbon de bois venant de l’intérieur du pays y accostent.
