Walking on the beach at the Lizard Point in Cornwall with my son we had a random conversation about what it would be like if we found a mermaid washed ashore. I had wanted to write something in a form I had seen used in a brilliant post by @flipstork (see slide 2). The form has quatrains (4-line verses) with 8,6,6,8 syllables per line and an ABBA rhyme scheme.
