••Let’s talk a bit about the big elephant in the room. The aftermath of sexual abuse. . I tend to share just enough, without giving too much away. Because I’m still very ashamed and I still feel very disgusting, and disgusted! I have scars so deep that I don’t even see the end of them. But I know I am broken, and I feel like it’s so unfair that I have to built myself up from scratch. I didn’t ask for this and the person to blame is not here anymore. So I blame another, and I blame myself. Even though I have no blame, I can’t forgive myself because there’s nothing to forgive! But this pain lingers, and sometimes it bursts out and I have a breakdown, and nobody can take this pain away. . But now, I’m gonna share a bit more of my story. Because I want to, and by saying it out loud I face it and I take it’s power away. . The aftermath of sexual abuse. It’s the most horrible thing, and no one is talking too much about it. My sexual activity fluctuates, and sometimes I have even pressured myself to just get “it done” so I could seem “normal” or be “a good girlfriend” or just because of the simple fact, that I wanted it to be ok. But my pain didn’t die with my abuser. I struggle every day. Some days are better than others, but I feel broken, just a little bit every day. . My sexual activity fluctuates because my body remembers the trauma. My body remembers the feelings. No one is really talking too much about this, but it’s very common (as in, happens to almost everyone) that you have an orgasm during your sexual assault. I know, you feel disgusted too now right? But think about it, how horrible is it to live in a body you feel has betrayed you? I live in a body like that every day of my life. My sexual abuser wouldn’t stop before I had an orgasm. It was his goal. Like he was trying to prove that “I liked it” so then it “wasn’t that bad”. And it didn’t matter how hard I tried, it happened. Tomorrow another stage of my life fighting gastroparesis begins. Tomorrow I’m having surgery to have a second feeding tube placed. Over the last nearly 4 years I’ve had a NG tube, G tube, GJ tube, and back to a G. As I’ve hopped from doctor to doctor we decided that as my condition progresses I need to have something that completely bypasses my stomach. I’m scared, nervous, anxious. Everything. But most importantly I’m hopeful. I’m hopeful that this will improve my quality of life in the long term. I’m hopeful that I’ll make it out the other side of recovery feeling better, stronger, and resilient. Living with gastroparesis never gets easier, I only get stronger. My focus will be on heavy kettlebell and #quadmace work. Just tracking calories now for a few weeks to see where my maintenance is at, then I’ll add 2-300ish calories every couple weeks after that. I’ve been getting some new followers lately so I wanted to do a lil introduction. I’m Sam Skrimpz a Louisiana native, non-binary person. Speaking of podcasts, I am a podcast nerd & have been listening to Brene Brown, Snap Judgment, Tara Brach, the Witch Wave, I Like Your Work and Ghost of a podcast lately, let’s talk y’all if you’re dialed into any of these ladies. I love having plants around me, y’all my summer herb garden is still going strong, and probably through winter if I play my cards right. I am currently learning tarot, and love diving into similar worlds with endless bodies of information, interpretation, that align with spirituality. I believe that my physical queer body is political, therefore I am. I put myself in the “helper” category and love raising funds with art for organizations that are helping to shape a better future for those placed outside of the system, & attend protests often. I WANNA SEE MORE PEOPLE WITH BODIES LIKE MINE CELEBRATED AND LOVED ( the following story contains HORRIBLE language): A few days back while arguing over a parking spot at Golden Gate Park this woman called me (screaming) a “tranny,” a “tranny ass bitch” to be exact. I am by now used to be stared at in disgust, asked “what are you”, being pointed. Bathrooms can be a nightmare. I stroll the streets sashaying loudly, spilling my sissiness with every step. I CANNOT HELP BUT BE SO FABULOUS, my heart wants all of it. People cannot take it. Their own pain and repressed desires are so overwhelming they cannot see a motherfucker like me being a free freak with no self hate. Over the past years as my love for myself has evolved, becoming more profound and honest, I have found that the harassment has spiked. I walk a line between many genders but don’t really pass as one and because of this I am punished. I have been trying to find words to process that moment at that parking lot. Why even as I understand that it is NOT about me, I cried that day. I was shaking for a long time after she left. I had anxiety dreams. I can theorize all day about it but the point is It’s painful and it fucking sucks. TLDR: today marks 6 weeks post-top surgery + I’m streaming my big Black joy-filled body to celebrate. In this political moment, it’s been hard to celebrate joy. I’ve felt embarrassed, shameful even, to share anything good + not give all my attention to Black death & demise. & that itself inevitably leads to a flood of grief. But in this post, I’m not letting racism take joy from me (it’s already taken so much). Today, I’m forgoing & rejecting that shame & sharing this: the ability for skin to rupture & bring itself to itself & grow new. ** Black people: remember, joy is an act of resistance. Joy & rage & sorrow can all exist at the same time. If you don’t acknowledge this pain, do your breath focus & body scan, eat food, and accept pleasure, we cannot be our best selves for the moment. I want you to have access to joy. I want you to be patient with yourself. Non-black people: Now is a time to demonstrate accomplice ship. Shop at black-owned businesses. Support Black leadership with dollars & dissemination of knowledge. Support efforts to defund police. Make calls & send letters to legislators telling them that you value Black life. Do your research. Accept that police reform won’t work, that reform doesn’t address the faulty foundation of institutions/businesses/governments that is racism. Listen to Black people & leadership before acting. Acknowledge & teach the history that has led us to this point with your people. my first pride month being out as trans has been way different than i imagined - i thought ash and i would be on our book tour - but instead i’m recovering from top surgery (!!), sitting at home, grilling, and reading. but honestly it has made me more proud. as many are reckoning with the injustices that white supremacy has systemically imposed upon Black people, more and more people outside of the queer community are learning about the power behind Black trans women. a group so marginalized in so many dangerous ways has defined pride as we know it for most of us. Saturyay Update 🌈 I’ve been quiet on here for a reason... Now, where have I been?!?! With just a bit more than a week left before starting my new job, I’m enjoying the longest extended vacation ever! Watching all my shows on Netflix, Peloton workouts, and school work for my two online classes. That and jamming out to Dua Lipa and watching fun Tik Toks 🤷🏻♂️ ✨ I start my New Grad RN program in less than 10 days and I’m so excited. To put it in perspective, I’ve waited about 4 months for this after graduation and I just can’t wait to to start and meet everyone in my cohort! 💉 ✨ I still feel grateful every day during this pandemic to have a full time job while many are getting furloughed or fired. The beautiful thing about being a nurse is you are ALWAYS in demand. I’m humbled every day to know that I 100% chose the right profession. Een paar weken geleden heb ik al m’n foto’s van m’n profiel verwijderd. Waarom? Ik besefte me ineens dat ik bij bijna elke foto een negatieve herinnering had. Het voelde nep. Gemaakt. Nu laat social media natuurlijk ook alleen zien wat we willen laten zien. Maar toch. Ik wilde iets meer trouw zijn aan mezelf. Dichter bij mijn eigen gevoel blijven. Aangezien die zoektocht naar jezelf al zwaar genoeg is. Met alles wat er speelt in de wereld is het moeilijk jezelf soms niet te verliezen. Ik probeer me meer in te lezen. Meer te delen. Mensen bewust te maken. Ondertussen probeer ik voor mezelf ook nog van alles helder te krijgen. Sinds drie maanden volg ik groepstherapie. Dat moet bespreekbaar zijn vind ik. Dus bij deze. En groei is zeker niet lineair. Support is ook belangrijk. Personen die maar heel kort in je leven zijn kunnen een enorm grote impact maken en je (onbewust) zoveel leren. Tijd zegt niets over intensiteit. Mensen die al jaren in je leven zijn blijken ineens een veel kleinere rol te hebben gespeeld. Duur zegt niets over kwaliteit. Het is oké dat connecties niet meer passen bij waar je op dit moment bent. Of juist wel. Het afgelopen jaar heb ik herkenning gevonden in non-binair zijn. Maar aangezien ik geloof dat gender fluïde is sta ik er ook voor open dat dit nog kan veranderen. Voor nu voel ik me fijn bij de pronouns they/them of in het Nederlands die/diens, die/hen, hen/hun. Harry Bradbeer 🔎 While searching for her missing mother, intrepid teen Enola Holmes uses her sleuthing skills to outsmart big brother Sherlock and help a runaway lord. 🔎 7/10 - Whitty a fantastic, unique and original story, the only fault is being very similar to Fleabag. 🔎 The 4th wall breaking made by the lead is really clever and really invites you into the mystery and it makes you feel like youre involved in the story. Its very much like the BBC show Fleabag and it uses this style to its (Upon research it is the same director) unfortunately I think that is a hindrance as throughout the film I was constantly making comparisons. And how similar both protagonists are. But if you havent seen Fleabag I think youll really enjoy this more. 🔎 You definitely get a sense of this female empowerment movie. The female characters outwitting the males throughout and with the undertones of the suffragette movement. I adore Enola with her quick whit and clever thinking. Tied with other side characters in the story. Fighting gender roles. Toxic masculinity. Its all there. 🔎 Overall this is a new original story and Im excited to see the sequels emerge.
