Según la UICN, los Santuarios de la Naturaleza deben constituirse a través de su plan de manejo y mecanismo de gobernanza en modelos de gestión sustentables del territorio para ser replicados en otras áreas. Los Santuarios no prohíben la construcción habitacional sustentable a pequeña escala, lo que busca es que todas las actividades que allí se desarrollen puedan convivir, el objetivo principal de la creación de los santuarios es conservar, restaurar y hacer un uso sustentable del territorio, las planificaciones terroriales por ley deben estar ajustadas a las áreas protegidas y no al revés. ¡Queremos que el rol de Área Protegida se respete y se cumpla en nuestro Santuario!
