Very special morning for me. This is an original design of mine. I did the drawings and started work in this folding screen back in May of 2017. It got sidelined for a while! Very pleased with how the frame came out. There will be Danish paper cord woven in two sections, an upper and lower, on each of the three panels. Los que me siguen por aquí, saben de mi curiosidad por la red de transporte suburbano de Barcelona. A ese respecto, me gustaria compartir con ustedes ahora una confesión. Cuando viajo en los Ferrocarrils de Catalunya no puedo evitar sentir, de vez en cuando, un cierto desasosiego de fondo al observar los nombres de algunas estaciones de la L6 y la L7. En mi criterio, están mal. Así, a bocajarro. Para empezar, yo creo que la estación de Muntaner debería pasar a ser la de Sant Gervasi, quedando entonces como estacion de enlace entre las de Sarria y Gracia, lo cual tiene toda la lógica geografica. A mi entender, los nombres de las estaciones deberian determinar barrios prioritariamente, no vias que desbordan el territorio. En segunda instancia, la actual estación de Sant Gervasi debería pasar a compartir el nombre de Plaza Molina, con la que ya comparte enlace. La circunstancia actual desorienta y no es razonable desde 2009. Por último, a mi parecer, la actual estación de Padua debería ser rebautizada como El Farró, cerrando así el ciclo de feliz recuperación de este topónimo y testimoniando, junto a la estación contigua, el barrio donde se situa, El Putxet - El Farró. En fin, son ya muchos años recorriendo arriba y abajo estas lineas, ustedes me disculparán. Abusando de su paciencia, ya puestos, otro dia les comento mi sugerencia de ampliación de estas dos lineas. - Back at it again with another prom dress find. It was only $10 so I couldn’t pass it up😩 I’m going to have to figure out a way to go to prom twice this year!
I haven’t been posting much lately, but am so thankful for family and friends all over as we all hunker down in strange times. I am especially grateful to be able to pour time into the studio this summer and finally want to share what I’ve been up to. This is a rendering of a porcelain tile and mirror piece for the new @hodgestaylorgallery space in Charlotte, NC. The final version will be comprised of 248 porcelain tiles which mount onto a laser cut acrylic mirror. The design is a play on the typical washroom vanity, with only small sections of the mirror exposed. I continue to revisit this crumpled paper surface which embodies for me a sense of imperfection, fleeting moments and discarded ideas. This brief moment of crumpling paper then goes through a range of mold-making, casting and finishing processes before the tiles finally get fired. *INSPIRATIONAL POST* My name is Travis Bellamy I’m 27 years old and I have Cerebaol palsy. ◦ Dispite my disability, one of my favourite things to do is going to the Gym which I have been doing for four years now. Due to my cerebral palsy I need help in my day to day life. One of my favourite things about going to the gym is pushing myself and proving to the world that disabled people are capable of doing what abled body people can, with some determination. In February of this year one of my carers got me to try the rowing machine, unfortunately I can’t grip stuff as the muscles in my hands and the rest of my body have involuntary movements. So I decided to try using the wrist straps so I can maintain momentin. The first time that I rowed l only did a hundred meters which took me about ten minutes , since February I have been rowing at least once a week. When I reached four k’s Adam the owner said he would write something about me on their social media. I’m someone who enjoys pushing themeselvs so I took Adam up on his challenge. On Wednesday the 29th of july when l went to the gym, I told Adam that I was going to do the 4 km’s. It took me half an hour to hit 4 km’s but I thought that 5km’s sounded better. even though I was sore and tired, I pushed myself and did 5km’s Life through has it challenges and it’s ups and downs ,it’s up to us how we face and overcome those challenges. .... Hi friends! I hope you are all doing well! Now that I have gotten used to my work from home routine, I have been able to get back to some serious crafting! Ive been working on building a corset that will serve as a base for the rig that will house the Warlords three wolf tails. I had previously built a harness-type rig for the tails, but after trying it on again recently, came to hypothesis that the snugness of a corset would provide better support for the tails, both laterally and vertically. (🤞🤞🤞 That this theory is correct!) This is my third mockup of the corset, and Im anticipating one or two more before its where Id like it to be 😅. Im finally happy with the overall shape and style lines, but have some fit issues that need tweaking. Some of the wrinkles are due to the fact that my bones are not yet cut to size. Since the bones are too long they cant be properly secured in the channels, and the fabric is bunching up around them. Im primarily concerned, however, with the horizontal wrinkles at the sides, which I think are an indication of too much length. Ill start by folding out some excess length in the waist, and around the back, and assess next steps from there. To make the pattern, I started working from my princess seam bodice sloper, and adjusted the front from two panels per side to four, removing a substantial amount of width in the process.
