{ Powerful Friday } I haven’t been in a gym for over 7 months, and I feel great! I feel strong, powerful and great in my own body. Home workouts has been amazing for me. My body isn’t perfect.. My body is a result of binge eating and being overweight. My body is a result of disordered eating and extreme exercise. My body is a result of being stuffed into a waist trainer for months on end. My body has been prodded, stretched, poked at, pulled, and examined by myself more times than you can imagine. My body is covered in lumps, bumps, scars and stretch marks and cellulite just as much as the next person. My body has been through a lot.. ..and now my relationship with it has changed, we’re finally getting along. I use that very same body to show other womxn that they can accept theirs too, and that is not something I am going to stop any time soon, and I refuse to feel guilty for sharing it considering how long it’s taken for me to accept it. Lasting change comes through empowerment, not shame. I’ve learned on my self love journey that the only time my healthy habits stick is when I enter into them from a place of self worth. A place of knowing I deserved more for myself, and of loving myself exactly as I am FIRST. My life has been filled with confidence issues, debilitating body image struggles, disordered eating, and disempowering food relationships. For years I missed out on a lot of life bullying myself and waiting until some future day where life would start. But today, completely independent of my size, weight, or appearance, I know I am worthy of self love and self care simply because I exist. And once I got there, I noticed that staying consistent with self care became so much easier. We effortlessly take care of the things we love and value. This Sunday from 8-9:30am PT I’ll be teaching my Self Love and Body Positivity workshop. This is a live virtual experience where we’ll deep dive into changing limiting beliefs, removing toxic thought processes and influences, and learning tangible daily tools to gradually shift your most important relationship... the one with yourself. There will be no talks of food or weight loss. This is much deeper. If you struggle with consistent self care, it’s likely self love is at the core and it would be my honor to share many of the tools that have helped me. My entire mind and perspective has transformed and it has had nothing to do with the numbers on a scale or the label in my pants. This workshop is $25 and all are welcome. Lili Reinhart has explained why she waited to publicly come out as bisexual. The 24-year-old actress, best known for her role as Betty Cooper on Riverdale, came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, telling fans that she identifies as a “proud bisexual woman”. In a new interview with Jeffrey Masters for LGBTQ&A, a podcast produced by The Advocate magazine, Reinhart said she refrained from coming out as bisexual sooner because of the harmful stereotypes and assumptions that still surround the community. “I’ve wanted people to know that I am bisexual, but I’ve never felt that there was a right time to do it,” she admitted. “I was afraid of coming out. I didn’t want people to tell me that I was lying to get attention or something. And so I just kept my mouth shut. “I also I’ve told people in the past and they’ve told me, ‘Oh, it’s a phase.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, great, thanks.’ So that’s discouraging, obviously.” Reinhart said she attempted to come out as “nonchalantly as possible” because she doesn’t consider a person’s sexuality to be a “big deal,” adding: “The way I look at the world right now, I’m like, ‘Isn’t everyone bisexual?’ “So I didn’t really feel like this was any breaking news by any means. Domingo de reflexiones y qué loco que me ponga nerviosa subir algo como esto, no? Sentimos que nos exponemos a la mirada de un otro que seguramente “se va a fijar en el rollo que se me hace cuando me rio”. Pero decime, hay algo más lindo que reirse así de fuerte? ⠀ Esta cuarentena a mi me pega por este lado; el de encontrarme conmigo misma a la fuerza. Y creo que nos estamos llevando bastante bien. ⠀ Me parece una cagada que nos hayamos acostumbrado a “tener que trabajar y hacer un proceso” para llegar al punto de querernos y aceptarnos. Debería ser algo que nos sale y ya. ⠀ De tanto bombardeo de imágenes que vemos todos los días, estamos hoy en un lugar como sociedad en donde el quererse y agradecer el cuerpo que tenemos no es la regla. Pero escuchame, tus pies son los que te llevan de un lugar a otro, tus ojos son los que te dejan disfrutar el mundo que tenemos, tus oídos hacen que se te mueva el culo cuando escuchas un temon, tu panza transforma la comida para que tengas mucha fuerza para reirte… ⠀ Este es el empaque en el que nos toca vivir, deberíamos agradecerle todos los días y no castigarlo pensando que no cumple con las condiciones que la sociedad te dice que debería tener. ⠀ No tengo mucho para agregar a lo que está escrito ahi, lo que está escrito en la foto son frases que me quedaron resonando después de un vivo de @bellamente y @sollorenzon. Abortion is not a dirty word. It’s unfortunate that this is still necessary to say. It should just be a given by now. The government should not have the power to make laws about what a woman does with her body, which was decided with Roe v Wade in 1973. But here we are in 2020, and the conversation about whether abortion should be legal or not is still on the table. In many places around the world, it has never been legal, and remains illegal to this day. _ This is madness. Do not tell women that they don’t have the right to decide what to do with their own bodies. Even more infuriating is the fact that the new potential Supreme Court Justice, a woman, is pro-life. This woman thinks that women shouldn’t have the right to choose, and if she gets sworn in, where will that leave women in the US? _ Just to be crystal clear, abortion is not a sin, is not shameful. The government taking away a woman’s right to choose what to do with her own body is a violation of human rights.
