СОРОКА ЗВИЧАЙНА/ Eurasian magpie (лат. Pica pica) Цього літа дуже щастило на фотографування дитинчат пташок🐣. Ось маленьке сороченя💜, яке спокійненько нам позувало, хоча дорослу сороку сфотографувати майже неможливо, така вона прудка🤷. Сорока звичайна відноситься до родини воронових, про яку я вже раніше писала. Вона трохи більша розміром за сойку, але трохи менше ніж ворона, не враховуючи довгого хвоста, який на сонці відливає неймовірними зеленими та синіми відтінками🤩. Ця пташка в Україні є осілою і зустрічається майже на всій території. Її дуже легко впізнати і відрізнити від інших воронових завдяки яскравій зовнішності, а також її голосу, шо легко запамятовується, бо ж сороку так назвали саме за звуки, які вона видає. У давньословянському словнику для визначення цього птаха використовували слово «сварка», тому що сорока видає характерний скрекіт - наче свариться😎. А також завжди легко впізнати її своєрідне гніздо - велике, зверху прикрите колючим дахом. Воно побудоване з сухих гілок, покритих шаром глини, а вже за ним - лоток з корінців, листя і вовни. Гніздо найчастіше знаходиться високо від землі в кроні дерева, а якщо дерев мало - нижче, в кущах. Як правило, сороки будують кілька гнізд, а потім обирають одне, в якому і гніздяться. Повна кладка зазвичай містить 6-8 яєць, які сорока насиджує 17-18 діб. Пташенята залишають гніздо у віці близько 25 днів недостатньо зміцнілими, мають недорозвинені махові і стернові пера. Отже, нашому малюкові з фото десь приблизно місяць від народження😃. Поблизу гнізда виводки тримаються близько 10 діб, а потім утворюють зграйки по 6-15 особин і кочують по кормових місцях. Частину літа і початок осені виводок ще тримається разом. Загалом, сороки дуже кмітливі, спостережливі і цікаві. Вони уважно відстежують обстановку навколо, чуйно реагують на її зміни і негайно сповіщають про це своїх родичів. Хоча в цілому сороки поводяться обережно, але свій скрекітливий голос подають охоче😃. Rara (Phytotoma rara) Observada en Santiago. La Rara se encuentra desde la zona norte hasta la zona austral de Chile, desde la costa hasta precordillera, utilizando hábitats como bosques, matorrales, áreas agrícolas, plazas y jardines. Es una especie herbívora por lo que alimenta de hojas, brotes, gramíneas, flores y pequeños frutos, es por esto que durante muchos años fue perseguida y culpada injustamente de ser perjudicial para la agricultura. Actualmente, cada vez es más frecuente siendo posible observarla posada en un punto alto emitiendo su particular vocalización o en suelo mientras forrajea. Su identificación es posible por su llamativo ojo de color rojo, su tamaño pequeño y robusto, su pico corto y aserrado, además presenta un notorio dimorfismo sexual donde el macho (foto 2 y 4) presenta una tonalidad roja desde la frente hasta la base de su cola, mientras que la hembra ( foto 1 y 3) presenta tonalidades pardo cálido. Uno casi habla con estos pájaros- el Chicuí - Todus angustirostris. - - Este pajarito es difícil de fotografiar a diferencia de su hermano el Barrancolí - Todus subulatus, el chicui tiene un comportamiento más esquivo y se encuentra con más facilidad en montañas altas, aunque en bosque virgen de menos elevación se ha reportado también. (Es como medio lioso saber diferenciar un Barrancolí y un chicuí a simple vista). - - Yo digo que “casi uno habla con estos pájaros” porque a la hora de que uno se va al monte a fotografiar estas especies, como que se conecta hasta la mirada, es el ejemplo de esta fotografía que tomé hace unos años, cada vez que la veo me recuerda lo cerca que estuve de él, yo camuflajeado entre los helechos y se me acercó este pajarito como a decirme un secreto, mi cámara totalmente manual, perdiendo tiempo configurando la luz y los parámetros, yo asutao, pensando que se me iba a ir, hasta que pude disparar con 300mm, F 5.6, ISO 800 por la baja luz dentro de la maleza, 1/300 de velocidad (aunque usted no entienda esos parámetros aquí yo me consideré un súper héroe fotografiando este bello Chicuí con la poca luz y la suerte que tuve al tenerlo confundiéndome con los helechos y cargando un 500mm del trabajo). SERPIENTE EMPLUMADA Siento que ya no hay mucho más que pueda agregar de esta ave tan maravillosa, a veces cometemos el pecado de “dar por sentado” las cosas, como por ejemplo que acá en Costa Rica puedo ver a un Quetzal a la orilla de la carretera y la mayoría de los puntos de observación están en los patios de las casas de los agricultores de la zona. Eso puede hacernos como fotógrafos costarricenses ser “mimados” y creer que en todo el mundo tiene oportunidades como estas, pero no es así. Por eso es que a pesar de que en mi trabajo veo quetzales como algo normal, cada vez que lo veo intento sentir el agradecimiento como si fuera la primera vez. El fotógrafo de naturaleza puede caer en algo que es letal para la pasión y la creatividad y es perder la capacidad de asombro. Asi que NUNCA pierdas la capacidad de asombro y tampoco te pierdas un momento por estar estresado que la foto no sale. Ya vimos lo frágil que es nuestra “normalidad” nunca la des por garantizada. Se desplaza entre la vegetación con movimientos que recuerdan a las ardillas y posteriormente se deja caer planeando. Se alimenta de insectos grandes, como cigarras o chicharras, avispas y orugas (incluidas las que tienen pelos urticantes o espinas) y ocasionalmente arácnidos, lagartijas y algunas frutas. Durante el verano se le ve en compañía de mamíferos pequeños, como el tití Callithrix jacchus. El cuco ardilla es un habitante de todo el trópico continental americano, en una gran variedad de hábitats boscosos, como bosque seco, selva húmeda, bosques semiabiertos, plantaciones de café y bosques riparios, desde el nivel del mar hasta 2800 msnm. Frecuentemente se le observa planear de un árbol a otro, o saltando enérgicamente de rama en rama buscando alimento. Su nido es una plataforma frágil de hojas y palitos que construye en la horqueta de un árbol o arbusto. El tamaño de su postura es de 2 o 3 huevos blancos, los cuales incuban ambos sexos durante 18 días en periodos de 6 a 8 horas cada uno. They breed in semi-open habitats with scattered thickets and wildflowers such as overgrown fields, shrub lands, groves, and maritime forest. The red and blue! The tongue of a woodpecker can span up to four inches long. On its tongue is a glue-like substance which helps in extracting insects. Woodpeckers have zygodactyl feet – two toes pointing forward and two pointing backward – which help them hold onto tree trunks. They have sharp claws on their toes. Many species have bristel-like tail feathers which support their weight when they press against the sides of trees. ✓ Entusiastas y muy comunicativos, así estaba un grupo de tordos (Curaeus curaeus) mientras bebían el delicioso néctar de la flor del chagual (Puya chilensis), una especie endémica de Chile. Alimenta-se preferentemente de peixes, que são visualizados de um poleiro alto, em geral próximo às coleções de águas limpas. Ao localizar a presa, mergulha sobre ela e, após a captura, retorna ao poleiro; com o peixe entre as maxilas, provoca-lhe a morte, batendo-o contra uma superfície dura.
