Il Codacons denuncia Chiara Ferragni per essere comparsa in un lavoro del grande Francesco Vezzoli perché è blasfema, offende la religione e la storia dellarte. Ridicolo. Nessuna offesa. Lamore di Vezzoli per il mondo dei divi d’ogni sorta lo ha portato a offrirci un nuovo punto di vista sulla memoria collettiva, sul glamour che è impatto mediatico e quindi calendario della storia. Spesso nelle sue opere abbiamo visto grandi icone con il volto solcato da una lacrima, perché le opere di Vezzoli sono universali (questo è il perimetro dell’arte) e nulla è più universale e duraturo del dolore, che è pelle viva sotto la maschera della celebrità. E questa Madonna con bambino non è la prima, perché Vezzoli nel 2005 ci ha fatto una serie nello spazio di New York del re dei galleristi, Larry Gagosian: Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell e Claudia Schiffer erano diventate rispettivamente la Madonna di Sandro Botticelli, di Andrea Mantegna, di Cima da Conegliano, di Giovanni Bellini. Ed è nella capacità di unire l’alto e il basso, più che il sacro e il profano, che si manifesta la peculiarità di questo grande artista. E non sto parlando di un mix tra cultura d’élite e cultura popolare, che non esiste più nel linguaggio di Vezzoli, ma tra il pubblico e il privato. Eccola allora Chiara Ferragni portata in un’altra dimensione, lontana dal suo habitat naturale e trasformata in madonna laica. Non perché oggi il marketing è la nuova religione o facilonerie del genere, ma perché la fede è credere in qualcosa che non si vede e che ha una trasposizione figurativa, proprio come i moderni divi. I am grateful for prayer. I’ve spent many nights lately on my knees seeking for wisdom, peace, and understanding with all the current unrest that rages in the hearts of men and women. I’ve sought understanding through study and faith and I’ve tried to open my heart and give my time to truly understand others and their points of view. In all of it, I’ve been reminded of how important God is to me in seeking and finding truth. I came a cross a scripture in my studies that I feel offers sound and timely advice on how to interpret the many voices we hear each day. In March, 1761, Ahmed Shah Abdali, the King of Afghanistan and Persia was returning to his country, victorious after defeating the Maratha empire at Panipat. He took along with him 22,000 Marathi women to sell as slaves in Kabul. On the way the Women were to be used by the Afghan soldiers to satisfy their lust. Nawab Jassa Singh, along with the Dal Khalsa were at Sarbat Khalsa, their bi-annual meeting at Amritsar, when the relatives of the women pleaded for help. They heard of the slaughter of innocents and the raping of women by the Afghans. Their ire was aroused. All the Khalsa Misls (clans) got together and passed a resolution that they will free all the slaves. Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia led and orchastrated the attack, organizing the Singhs into small bands, and decided to attack the rear of Abdalis army, where they were carrying the Indian women as captives. The Afghans were dismayed at the swiftness and ferocity of the Sikh attack. Before they could gather themselves to counter the attack, the Sikhs rescued the Maratha women. The Singhs escorted them to their families, but many widows were not accepted back after being dishonoured. Many of the rescued Women took Amrit and became Khalsa Warriors, after sympathising with the selfless ways of Akaal Purakh Wahegurus Army and they then married Sikh soldiers. After this event, Abdali had Sri Harmandir Sahib blown up, and the Sarovar was polluted with the guts, blood and carcases of cows and bullocks. During the cannon fire, a brick from Sri Harmandir Sahib struck Abdali and severed his nose. Imagine today.. a sunny day, but then 400 years ago: 16 September 1620. On this day, the Pilgrims (a group of English Puritans) set sail from the port in Plymouth (UK) on a ship called the Mayflower, to travel to the free colonies in Massachusetts (US). Like today, it was sunny apparently. But the voyage of the Pilgrims across the transatlantic was harsh. It took them 66 days, as they left the UK in September their crossing was afflicted by winter storms and seasickness. The Pilgrims had already been travelling for a long time. To escape religious persecution, they decided to flee England for the Netherlands from 1609 onwards - back in the days, the Dutch republic was seen as a liberal nation where they could live peacefully. The Pilgrims settled in Leiden, where they lived and worked for 12 years. They built houses in what is today known as Engelse poort (English Alley). Another astonishing fact that shows just how much impact the arrival of these European settlers has had on America: no less than nine US presidents are descendants of these Leiden Pilgrims. Throughout 2020, museums in the Dutch cities of Leiden and Rotterdam - as in the UK and the US - are dedicating exhibitions to the Mayflower. The commemoration is not solely focused on the time the Pilgrims spent in the Netherlands or their stories on the boat. The perspectives of Native American communities on the consequences of the arrival of the Pilgrims form an integral part of the story. Today, our Ambassador Karel van Oosterom joined the commemoration ceremony in Plymouth, together with the US Ambassador in the UK, Admiral Tony Radakin (First Sea Lord of the Royal Navy) and online representation of the Wampanoag. The crew of IBM and MSubs also joint - who built a new autonomous vessel, powered by AI and energy from the sun, bearing the same name as the old Mayflower. Under the title MADONNA CHILDREN the Grafikkabinett in the Kunstmuseum Basel Hauptbau will be showing a hitherto unexplored facet of the museums history by means of the rich archive material. On view until 24 January 2021. Encouraged by Margaret, Princess of Hesse and near the Rhine, the government council of the canton of Basel-Stadt enabled 20 Darmstadt children aged between seven and thirteen to spend four weeks a year in Davos between 1953 and 1958. The new loans to be granted for this purpose formed a payment for the loan of the so-called “Darmstadt Madonna” by Hans Holbein the Younger to the Kunstmuseum Basel. On their journey from Darmstadt to Davos, the Madonna Children made regular stops at the Kunstmuseum Basel to view the painting. In addition to the Dresden painting, however, there was another version, which - after its later place of storage – is called the Darmstadt Madonna, also to distinguish the two versions from each other. In the 19th century, the question of which of the two versions was the original gave rise to the so-called Holbein dispute among artists, art historians and laymen. While artists and laymen clearly saw the original in the Dresden version, art historians finally came to the conclusion that the Darmstadt painting was the original. Meanwhile, the Dresden copy is attributed to Bartholomäus Sarburgh. La Madonna di Joris van der Paele è la più grande opera di Jan van Eyck (Maaseik, 1390 circa – Bruges, 1441) dopo il Polittico dell’Agnello mistico. L’opera fu realizzata tra il 1434 e il 1436 su incarico di Joris van der Paele (1370 circa – 1443), canonico della chiesa di San Donaziano, allora il principale edificio di culto di Bruges. Il dipinto raffigura una complessa struttura teologica fondata su diversi livelli di lettura e significato. Formalmente, la composizione ricorda un epitaffio: e in effetti, sia il dipinto sia l’eredità lasciata dal fondatore della cappella avevano lo scopo di tramandare la sua memoria. Sulla sinistra infatti vediamo san Donaziano che, in quanto santo titolare della collegiata di Bruges, viene collocato nella posizione gerarchica più importante, a destra di Maria. Di fronte a lui, a sinistra della Vergine, vediamo il donatore inginocchiato, e vestito con una tunica bianca, Joris van der Paele viene presentato da san Giorgio (suo santo eponimo, nonché patrono), raffigurato in una splendida armatura dorata, che riluce della grazia della Vergine e del Bambino. Il santo, che porta sul petto la scritta in lingua ebraica “Adonai” (“Signore”), si toglie l’elmo in segno di saluto e con la mano sinistra indica il canonico. Krishna managed to tackle the bull and pierce its horns! Finally, the demon left the bull’s body and bowed to the Lord. Happy Birthday Edward Burne-Jones! The British painter and designer Edward Burne-Jones was born on this day in 1833. One of the key figures of the Pre-Raphaelite group, Burne-Jones also worked closely with the designer William Morris and was a co-founder of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. In addition to paintings, Burne-Jones was involved in the resurgence of the art of stained glass in Britain. Examples of his paintings, stained glass, and illustrations are on view in the AFA exhibition, “Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement.” In his unfinished painting, “The Wizard” which he worked on from 1891 to 1898, we see a hooded sorcerer revealing a convex mirror behind a curtain. Is the shipwreck we see in that mirror happening at the moment or is this a view into the future? Burne-Jones never identified a specific literary source of this painting, so perhaps the scene was drawn from his own imagination. “Victorian Radicals” resumes its national tour when it opens at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno on March 6, 2021. Salad with Prosciutto and Caramelized Pears This salad incorporates the fresh and savory tastes of Italy. This dish is excellent for an appetizer or finger food at a party. . INGREDIENTS (Serves 4-6) 2 cups orange juice, freshly squeezed 2 tbsp. Cattani Olivewood Balsamic Vinegar 2 tbsp. white onion, diced 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. dry white wine black pepper, to taste salt, to taste 1 tbsp. butter 2 pears, peeled, cored, and cut into wedges 1 cup walnut halves 1/4 lbs. Pio Tosini Prosciutto di Parma, thinly sliced 2 heads red leaf lettuce, or lettuce of your choice, washed PREPARATION For the Dressing: Heat orange juice over medium-high heat in a saucepan, whisking often, until it is reduced by 1/4. Add that to a blender with vinegar, onion, 1 tbsp. brown sugar, wine, salt, and pepper. Process until smooth. Slowly drizzle in extra virgin olive oil with the blender on a slow speed, and process again. Chill until ready to use. For the Pears: Melt the butter over medium heat and add the pears and walnuts. Cook for 3 minutes. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, some water, and cook. Stir constantly, until caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. For the Salad: Combine the strips of prosciutto, lettuce, and the pear and walnut mixture in a large bowl. Add just enough dressing to coat and toss. Как врачи развивают стоматофобию у детей. ⠀ На иллюстрации картина врача-художника Шикото, «Интубация» (1904). Мы видим маленького ребенка, который, сидя на коленях любящей матери, доверяет врачу серьёзную и болезненную процедуру. Мать держит малыша за ручки фиксируя их, ассистент придерживает головку малыша: крепко, но без насилия. Ребенок напряжен, но не вырывается из рук и не паникует, доверяясь взрослым. В целом это то, чего и желают добиться врачи в лечении детей. Им не нужно, чтобы ребенок с радостью ложился под шприц и нож: им достаточно, чтобы ребенок доверился. ⠀ Как-то услышал такую фразу от детского врача-стоматолога: «Ничего страшного, если ребенка подержать». ⠀ Некоторые врачи лояльно относятся к тому, чтобы физически фиксировать ребенка, когда тот сопротивляется. «Немного утихомирить», так сказать. Мол, ребенок и сам после процедуры поймет, что это для его блага, получит награду от мамы за терпение и успокоится. ⠀ Как эксперт, преподающий психологию, хочу разъяснить, почему я не рекомендую удерживать ребенка насильно. Если без физического воздействия убедить его не удается, то лучше отложить лечение. ⠀ А в случае, когда откладывать лечение нельзя, лучше применить медикаментозные методы от седативной премедикации до седации. И вплоть до общей анестезии. ⠀ Если вы ребенка успешно зафиксируете, то «ничего страшного» не произойдет только в рамках одной процедуры. Но впереди ребенка ждёт ещё много медицинских процедур. И эпизод становится предпосылкой к развитию стоматофобии, а иногда панических атак уже во взрослом состоянии. С последствиями уже придется работать неврологам и психотерапевтам. ⠀ Добавлю даже больше: фактически у всех людей, кто приобрел стоматофобию, был эпизод, когда его насильно удерживали в кресле стоматолога. ⠀ Прошу коллег, которые все еще думают, что «нет ничего страшного в том, чтобы подержать ребенка», поразмыслить над этим, и впредь думать не в рамках одной процедуры, а в комплексе. ⠀ Если вы хотите, чтобы ребенок вернулся к вам еще раз и доверился вам более охотно, то лучше применять другие методы воздействия. Come on, baby; these prices dont make sense !! You live in a movie! I came across something similar in one of my posts in the past month, preferring to ignore - when someone commented very similarly on the price of one of my courses…. Luckily for me - in her case - dozens of my students who have already finished studying - answered her instead, in the most heart-warming way I could only ask for. I can simply put a lot less effort into my work and lower the prices, but I dont want to. I prefer to work days on each of my clients and charge accordingly. Its clear to me that its not for everyone, and I dont appeal to everyone. But one thing I dont accept, and never will—RUDE PEOPLE when they come across a price that they not willing to pay. Thats more than you are willing to invest? - Dont buy it. There are enough other service providers, and Im sure youll find someone to match the price youre willing to pay. Zeitweise habe ich mich allerdings gefragt, ob ich gerade einen Käse 🧀 oder eine Mondscheibe 🌕 produziere wegen der vielen kleinen Löchlein😅😍! Auch eine „neue“ Füllung habe ich diesmal getestet:Marmelade, Kokosraspel und frische Johannisbeeren...baldiger Wiederholungsbedarf👌🙃🙃! . Das brauchst du für 6 große Pfannkuchen🗒: ▫️1,5 EL Sojamehl/Ei-Ersatz+120ml Sprudelwasser ▫️350ml Sojamilch ▫️75g vegane Pflanzenmargarine (sehr weich!) ▫️160g Dinkelmehl ▫️2 TL Rohrohrzucker ▫️1 Prise Salz ▫️Kokosfett/-öl für die Pfanne (ergibt den angenehm leichten Kokosgeschmack) ▫️Kokosraspel und Puderzucker zum Bestreuen ▫️Marmelade, Schokoaufstrich, Apfelmus, frisches Obst zum Füllen . So wird’s gemacht🥄: 1. Alle Zutaten in der angegeben Reihenfolge miteinander vermischen. 2. Kokosfett in einer unbeschichteten Pfanne erwärmen und die Pfannkuchen darin backen. 3. This arresting 19th Century portrait, according to historian Nigel Chancellor, is a window into how the British introduced the world’s fist vaccine to India, their biggest colonial enterprise. Dr. Chancellor identified the woman on the right in the painting as Devajammani, the second wife of Mysore’s Krishnaraja Wadiyar III. He says she is pointing to the part of her arm where she was vaccinated for smallpox. And he believes the painting was commissioned by the East India Company to encourage participation in the vaccination programme. The oil on canvas is dated to around 1805. For a long time its subjects were unknown - and thought to be dancing girls or courtesans - until Dr Chancellor stumbled upon it. Unwittingly, he says, the young queen played a role in the East India Company’s grand plan to inoculate Indians. It involved British surgeons, Indian vaccinators, scheming company bosses and friendly royals - none more so than the Wadiyars, indebted to the British who had put them back on the throne after more than 30 years of exile. In our tumultuous world today, when I crave tranquility, I enjoy paintings like this one. A maid pours milk from a pitcher into a bowl. She looks down, focused intently, performing this simple task as if it’s the most important thing in the world. Vermeer has captured a quiet moment in Holland. In Vermeer’s day, maids were generally portrayed as luscious objects of desire surrounded by mouthwatering foods. Though Vermeer keeps some of that conventional symbolism — cupids in the baseboard tiles, uterine jugs, erotic milk-pouring, and a heat-of-passion foot warmer — the overall effect here is quite the opposite. Rather than a Venus, this is a blue-collar maid, a down-to-earth working girl...working. She’s broad-shouldered and thick, balanced on a sturdy base. Because of the painting’s lines of perspective, we the viewers are literally looking up at her. Vermeer’s maid embodies that most-prized of Dutch virtues: the dignity of hard work. While the painting’s subject is ordinary, you could look for hours at the tiny details: the crunchy crust of the loaves of bread, the broken window pane, the shiny brass basket, even the rusty nail in the wall with its tiny shadow. On this day in 1730, 363 Bishnois from Jodhpur were killed in Khejarli, when objected to felling of Khejri trees by the king. Day is celebrated as #ForestMartyrsDay. Scores of ground staff & officers have laid down their lives in protecting the ecological security of country. Can be called as first chipko movement of India. When king of Jodhpur sent teams to fell Khejri trees. Soon summons to a meeting were sent to 83 Bishnoi villages. The cry was “सिर साटे रुख रहे तो भी सस्तो जाण”. With this 363 bishnoi martyred to save trees led by Amrita Devi. To commemorate the day of this bishnoi massacre India observe this day as Forest Martyrs Day. The modern chipko movement was spread in years & is considered as eco-feminist movement, led by women. And a movement for ownership of resources based on gandhian principles. On this #ForestMartyrsDay want to draw your attention toward thousands of #forest personnel serving in remote corners of country. In creeks, on hills & cores unnoticed & unrecognized.
