L’organisation méthodique de ces très jeunes manifestants a forcé l’admiration: Divisés en véritables bataillons où chacun a son rôle défini, qu’il s’agisse des fameux frontliners qui prennent le plus de risque au contact de la police, aux équipes médicales ou de communications en passant par les manifestants lambda prêts à apporter leur aide à tout moment. Mais alors que ces équipes autonomes et très mobiles sont connectées en permanence et communiquent par les réseaux sociaux ou par des messageries cryptées et décentralisées, certains ont ressenti le besoin d’utiliser un médium plus inattendu : le zine. On ne parlera pas ici de fanzine, car personne n’est fan de cette situation, mais plutôt de protest zines, un genre de zine qui trouve évidemment sa source dans la longue tradition des brochures et pamphlets politiques. Le protest zine est le pendant politique du zine, alors que le zine est le plus souvent le fait d’un individu qui partage sa passion, son quotidien, sa créativité, le protest zine contient des informations utiles à faire circuler entre manifestants, des revendications, ou tout simplement la saine expression de la rage face à l’injustice. Alors que la brochure politique est en général produite par des militants et représente l’organisation dont ils font partie, les protest zines sont produits par des activistes ou simples dissidents qui ne représentent qu’eux-mêmes. À Hong Kong, des protests zines ont commencé à apparaître dans le sillage du mouvement des parapluies en 2014. A new gloomy and doomy project featuring Kelly on vocals and keys announced the release of their new album today! From the band: Drawing influences from indie rock, shoegaze, psych rock, doom metal, goth/darkwave, Denver Colorados BleakHeart creates an emotionally lush atmosphere of rich guitars, haunting synths, and dynamic vocals. Bleakheart began as a solo project of JP Damron (guitars, Vermin Womb, In the Company of Serpents), who soon recruited friend Kelly Schilling (vocals, keys, Dreadnought) to contribute her voice to the project. After releasing an initial demo together, the dreamily-dreary duo was then joined by Mark Chronister (guitars) and Josh Kauffman (drums) to fully realize their unique brand of downtrodden, gothy psychedelia. By juxtaposing mournful, low-fi, guitar-driven soundscapes with shimmering, ethereal vocals and keys, Dream Griever seeks to reflect on the absurdity of the human condition. “The album explores the patterns of destruction and turmoil created within ourselves, and the time we lose within those fleeting cycles,” says Schilling.
