I took our youngest on an adventure date today. He wanted to try a new park. Lucky for him, I keep a huge list of places we need to visit. 😂 And off to Sugarhouse Park we went. This was our first time and we were amazed at how HUGE this park is. There is so much space—lots of open grass, huge trees, a big pond, a creek, and this really fun playground. We explored all over, but his favorite part was feeding the ducks—Of course! 😉 I liked the shady, little creek. The new Stillhouse at Glenburgie, the home of Ballantine’s was built in 2004-5 to replace the old outdated one on almost the same site. It is now a much more modern facility but there are still nods to the old days if you know where to look. We installed the old Porteous mill from the former site to make sure the grind remained unchanged, it is almost 80 years old. In the pic the furthest away still on the right side also came from the old site, slightly different in shape due to heating methods. Il Rio Bardini è un corso dacqua naturale che ha origine in prossimità della Croce dei Colli a 1.225 metri di altitudine e che, circa 600 metri più a valle si immette in destra idraulica del #TorrenteDardagna. Tombinato per un tratto, per permettere la costruzione di strada Molinetto, il Rio Bardini negli ultimi anni è stato oggetto di un accumulo di rami, vegetazione, ghiaia e altro materiale solido che hanno causato l’ostruzione del transito dell’acqua con conseguenti allagamenti della strada adiacente e pregiudicando la sicurezza della sottostante frazione La Cà. L’intervento si è concretizzato nella realizzazione di un tratto di circa 20 metri di muretto in sasso per la protezione delle sponde, nel ripristino del tratto tombinato e nella costruzione di tre griglie selezionatrici di trattenuta. Sia Rio Baldini che i vicini Fosso delle Frascare e Fosso Carporo sono stati inoltre oggetto di un intervento di sfalcio selettivo della vegetazione infestante nel massimo rispetto dellequilibrio naturale, facendo sì che fosse rimossa soltanto la vegetazione pericolosa e nessun esemplare di pregio. I was working in an Intellectual Property Consultancy firm in Bangalore after graduating from IIT Bombay. But it felt like my job needed no skill; I created no real value. And then it all changed. On a trip with some friends to Ladakh a year back, we had casually pondered over the futility of the average corporate job and a friend, vaguely inspired by Rang De Basanti dialoques, suqgested Civil Services. A year into my job, the topic came up again in a phone call, and without an iota of an inkling about IAS and the work it entails, took the plunge and resigned within a week. I am glad I made that choice, it gives me an opportunity to do real tangible work that means something. I have really grown up in a cocoon-I went to military school which was a world of its own. All my life I have lived in big cities. The LBSNAA training changes you in the two years. I was exposed to rural life for the first time. In Tamil Nadu, my cadre, everything was new - the culture, the place and the language. On Saturday, around 17h00, while guiding in Cypress Falls Creek, we came across a young couple in distress. The girl had dislocated her shoulder and was stranded at the bottom of the canyon, showing signs of hypothermia. Without hesitation, we (two guides and I assisted by our participants) engage a rescue and manage to get them out of the frigid canyon within 1 hour. Neben einem Kleinkinderbereich mit Spielhäuschen gibt es einen Bereich mit höher gelegenen #Trii-Baumhäusern und Seilbahn für ältere Kinder. In einer Chillout-Zone kann man balancieren, schaukeln oder relaxen. Und sogar an eine Calisthenics-Anlage für Workout und zwei Trampoline wurde gedacht. So kann jeder den Bereich finden, der am besten zu ihm passt. The playground sections at Pfrontener Platz in Munich were fully redesigned. In addition to a small childrens area with play houses, there is a section with higher #trii houses and a cable ride for older children. 🎢 Paultons Park, Ower, Romsey SO51 6AL 25 minutes from central Southampton (Booking needed) 🐷 Home to Peppa Pig World, which is great for under 6s. 🎡 Loads of rides for kids 6+ too from backward rollercoasters to log flumes and everything in between. 🌳 Loads of green space for a picnic in the summer. I recommend the Japanese Garden in the center of the park as its a great place for the kids to explore the bridges and small river. ☔ Loads to do in the winter months too. Head towards Peppa Pig World for the under cover picnic benches and soft play. (Currently not open due to CV19) 💫 Three playgrounds that are great for all ages. Two splash parks and loads of benches for the grown-ups. Its the cleanest theme park you will ever go too! 🦅 Loads of animals to including exotic birds and animals from Africa. 🅿️ Parking is free. 🚾 There are toilets everywhere including dedicated baby changing cubicles around the park. 🍦Hot food can be brought from around the park, as can ice creams and other treats. - My week in London. Thanks to everyone who suggested gyms! I spent most of the week at The Castle. I also sent my first 11d and was ONE move away from sending my first 5.12. Loved the city, and the climbers were awesome.

Er is een roeivijver met waterfietsen en kajaks en er zijn visvijvers. Er zijn minicars en je kan er minigolf spelen. Verder is er een geweldig leuke avonturenzone met een klimparcours en waterzones. Voor groepen is er een hoogteparcours (8m hoogte). Er is zelfs een outdoor fitness! Je kan het bezoekerscentrum van het natuurgebied het Webbekomsbroek ontdekken en als je wil overnachten kan je gebruik maken van de trekkershutten of het camperterrein. Van 1 mei tot 15 september kan je zwemmen in het openluchtzwembad dat bestaat uit meerdere zwembaden, glijbanen, een springtoren en een waterspeeltuin. Gedurende de openingsperiode van het openluchtzwembad is de inkom betalend maar tijdens de andere maanden mag je gratis binnen. 😷 Tot 15 september moet je online een dagticket reserveren. Op verschillende plaatsen is handgel voorzien en er zijn extra waterpunten geplaatst voor het wassen van de handen. In de binnenruimtes zoals de sanitaire ruimtes is een mondmasker verplicht en er wordt gevraagd om afstand te houden. The pool is all cleaned up and ready to go. We are planning to reopen this Friday! Our pool hours will then be as follows: 7 days a week 9am - 8:30pm To ensure proper social distancing and to prevent spread we have set the following guidelines: * All guests will get one hour per night stay in the pool * Pool will closed for sanitizing after every hour * Limit of 30 guests in the pool at a time * Guests will to sign up for their time at the front desk * Guests will be required to fill out a questionnaire before entering the pool * Guests showing COVID19 symptoms will not be permitted * Pool is open to hotel guests only * The hot tub will remain closed * Poolside rooms will remain closed until we readjust to regulations and how to enforce them We look forward to welcoming our guests back. Todays grantee spotlight goes to Sunrise Middle School (@sunrise.middle), a charter school in San Jose for students who are seeking a holistic, meaningful, and stimulating education. Sunrise believes school should be a place where youth want to come each day, excited to learn about life and themselves, where they’re allowed to question and challenge the world around them, and where they feel empowered and respected for who they are. Sunrise Middle School operates on the land of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and often discuss this with their students as they walk the land. Two of the schools favorite locations for recognizing and acknowledging Muwekma Ohlone history are Chitactac-Adams County Park in Gilroy and along the Big Basin trail up from Waddell Beach. Were proud to support Sunrises work empowering students to become leaders by exposing them to the natural world and leadership opportunities through outdoor experiences such as horseback riding, river rafting, and beyond. 👫👭 Nationalpark-Kindergruppen starten wieder 👫👭 Aufgrund der Corona-Situation mussten auch die Nationalpark-Kindergruppen seit April pausieren. Nun geht es unter strenger Beachtung der aktuellen Hygiene-Vorgaben wieder los. Auf dem Programm stehen Erkundungen und Entdeckungen in der Umgebung mit Lagerbau und Werkeln, Spiel und Spaß. „Die Kindergruppen sind als langfristiges Angebot für einheimische Kinder ein Schwerpunkt unserer Bildungsarbeit und liegen uns ganz besonders am Herzen“, erklärt Julia Herzog vom Sachgebiet Umweltbildung der Nationalparkverwaltung. „Gerade die Kinder haben in den vergangenen Monaten auf Vieles verzichten müssen. Das unbeschwerte Draußen sein gemeinsam mit anderen Kindern ist ein wichtiger Ausgleich zum Lern-Alltag, der mit dem Schulanfang wieder begonnen hat und in Corona-Zeiten vermutlich noch herausfordernder wird als zuvor.“ Aus diesem Grund sollen die Gruppenstunden ab Oktober 2020 wieder im gewohnten wöchentlichen Rhythmus stattfinden. Aktuell sind auch noch einige Plätze frei, sowohl bei der „Fuchs-Gruppe“ (6 bis 9-Jährige) als auch bei den „Gamskindern“ (10 bis 13-Jährige). Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Playgrounds can re-OPEN!! Exciting news everyone! Playgrounds in California are now able to reopen with restrictions. San Francisco has a plan to re-open Oct. 14th. Despite the allowance of reopening from the state, the choice to reopen a playground is up to the local jurisdictions. Restrictions include: • Staying 6ft apart • Ages 2 and up must wear masks at all times • No eating/drinking at the playground • Water fountains remain off • Visits should be limited to 30 mins or less. Please continue to be mindful of everyone around you while out. Try to visit these parks on off days and hours. This playground pictured is Davey Glen Park in Belmont featuring a beautiful Berliner playground structure. (This playground pictured is not open today - these photos are pre-Covid) I have been in contact with Belmont Parks and they do plan to do a safe re-opening soon.
