Пост о том как я люблю свою работу Признаюсь, я не понимаю, как раньше жил без своего творчества, проводя все время в салоне. Мои съёмки и мой творческий рост - это большая работа! Я сразу понимал, что если хочу вырасти, чего-то добиться, то придётся действительно много делать. Даже сейчас я нередко могу выполнять на съёмках роль продюсера или фотографа, не считая своих основных задач. Конечно, не всегда все проходит идеально, но я считаю надо учиться ловить кайф от своей работы, даже если совершаешь ошибки. Потому что именно благодаря им ты растёшь! Бывает, что заграницей не просто найти команду, поэтому иногда модель становится и визажистом и водителем☺️☺️☺️ Но это никого не смущает, потому что все в едином порыве, на диком энтузиазме собираются вместе, чтобы творить - и в процессе забываются все трудности! Это такое вдохновение, когда либо из разных стран, с разными взглядами и стилем собираются в команду! Отдельный пункт, из-за которого я обожаю свою работу - это возможность увидеть совершенно сказочные места. Они дают новую силу, новые впечатления для будущего творчества. Я благодарен, не побоюсь этих громких слов, себе за то, что я не остался на месте, не смирился с местом парикмахера в салоне, а решил работать над собой и вырасти до всего этого! Can’t believe I missed World Afro Day... but it’s a day I don’t want to miss so I’m a day late. Growing up I didn’t like what i thought was my unruly hair very much. I remember the first tine I put a hot comb to my hair I thought it was magic. That led to years of relaxers, weaves, extensions, blah blah blah. Even had hair loss 2x due to overprocessing. A little over 3 years ago I lost a ton of hair at a salon and I covered it up for months in a weave. Eventually the weave made my hair worse, so I had to just cut it all off. That led to what u see in some of these pics if you scroll. At first I didn’t feel feminine or thought maybe I’d look horrible but eventually I loved it and loved waking up to my lil fro. I felt free, sexy, strong and confident. I would def rock a short fro again. Waking up and sending 2 minutes on my hair was incredible but the best part was realizing your hair is not what makes you a woman or beautiful. It doesn’t matter as much as I thought it did when it comes to feeling good about myself. I’ve not had a desire to straighten my hair now for a long time. I love my hair whether it’s a short fro or long curls. It’s how God made me and that is good enough. So on world Afro Day I celebrate all the beautiful Afros and natural hair. Every woman should feel great about herself and do whatever she likes but don’t forget the hair that grows out of your head before you do a damn thing to it absolutely gorgeous. The director of @dillard_raycharles was recently appointed to the James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Investment Fund For Black And Indigenous Americans leadership committee. The fund is a new grant initiative that will provide financial resources to food and beverage businesses owned by Black or Indigenous people that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund is a component of the James Beard Foundation’s Open For Good campaign. The campaign launched in April to help rebuild and develop a more equitable restaurant/food services industry. The investment fund aims to disburse grants of $15,000 each equally across Black and Indigenous populations throughout the United States. Inspired by my friend @alimakesthings , having noticed that some of you are new here, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about who I am, and why I’m on the unique path that I’m on. I read from Marianne Williamson’s Illuminata book of prayers most mornings, can’t get enough of @lotuswei flower essences 🌸 or the sound of crickets, I’m an INFP, a 2 on the enneagram (big surprise, right?! 😉), a perpetual book hoarder, I play the same song on repeat more than I’d like to admit 😌, my favorite movie is a tie between Amelie and You’ve Got Mail ✉️💕— & nobody makes me laugh more than Trevor Noah. I also dated a guy last year who refused to use emojis and that made me kinda sad. Anyway 💫 I love clarifying expectations 💁‍♀️, so what can you expect here? I receive a lot of messages and insights around grief, so expect to see posts along those lines here, reflections from my personal grief journey, and probably more writing now, too. Before moving into my work as an Integrative Grief Guide, I worked in the mission driven start up space — both in the femcare sector 👋 @shethinx , and up until late last year, in the mental health sector with Dr. Henry ☁️ . It was through healing and integrating with the grief from the losses of both my mother and brother (tip: family constellations 🌌) that I was able to fully shed the roles that were not fully true to be where I am today. My deepest intention is to be Spirit led and divinely partnered in all that I am, and especially in my 1:1 grief guidance work, and my Fall Up community circles. Tara Brach says so beautifully that “faith is to rest our hearts in what is true,” and every day I feel so profoundly grateful as wild and strange as it can be from one day to the next — that I am able to rest my heart in the truth of what I am called to do — to serve others in their grief healing journeys, with love. A couple years ago @marenmorris asked if I’d be up for writing with one our heroes, Kathleen Edwards. I of course said yes and a few months later we got to hang out for a couple days and write a couple of songs, one of which being “Good Woman”. In the coming months Kathleen and I stayed in touch as she started to realize that she had some things to say and that music was indeed still a vibrant part of her soul. After a few more visits to Nashville we began work on her first record in several years. Like most albums it took its twists and turns, but here we are now and I couldn’t be more proud of Kathleen and the work that we did together, alongside her dear friend and collaborator @jimbryson. Aloha everyone! My name is Malika Dudley and I’m doing an IG takeover of the alumni account. I’m a Big Island girl from Papaikou that graduated from Hilo High School in 2000. My sisters still live there but I moved to Maui about seven years ago. I’m a 2004 graduate of UH-Manoa with degrees in French and Communicology (the study of human communication). I started my MA in 2004 but after a year became Miss Hawaii and paused my education. Then, I took a complete 180 and was hired by KGMB9 news (later Hawaii News Now) to do weather and enrolled in the three year Broadcast Meteorology distance learning program at Mississippi State. Fast-forward to today, I was just hired as KITV4 Island News newest meteorologist. I’m so excited to be a part of Hawaii’s most credentialed weather team (both Paul and Pete are meteorologists as well) and make my debut this weekend on Good Morning Hawaii weekends! I don’t know where to start. I think I’m still in shock and it’ll be weeks before I believe it. But on Sunday night a dream came true when @celia_pacquola & I won DWTS. Yep! #teamgiggles took home the @dancingon10 Mirrorball Trophy. After 5 incredible seasons & being runner up so many times, we won. But the biggest win this season was seeing the growth from Celia. In her words I’m a sh@thead & have pushed her hard every week. But that was because I knew how brilliant she could be. My goal every season is to teach my partner to a level where people can’t tell who is the pro and who is the star & I think you’ll agree Celia danced like a pro. She did a FLIP! But it wasn’t just her dancing that was so impressive. It was the way she opened herself up & showed vulnerability. The ups & the downs. Thats why I love this show so much. It brings together celebrities from all walks of life & allows the audience to meet the real person behind the star. This word gets overused, but I’m so proud of you Celia! This has been the most memorable season for so many reasons. With the chaos in the world right now I’m just glad we were able to finish the show. From having no live audience, introducing social distancing rules to the Prime Minister address interrupting the show moments before we danced, this is a season I’ll never forget. With so many of my friends & family unable to work & the arts industry nearly non existent… I’m just glad we could spread some joy & a love for dance for a couple more weeks. A big thank you to everyone who voted for us. The support this season has been incredible & we couldn’t have done this without you. Our charity @safestepsfv also gets $50K which is so timely given the rise of domestic violence due to isolation. @kelleyabbey you are the ONE! You are a creative genius & this show wouldn’t be the same without you. I am forever grateful to have you as a mentor & a friend, & I honestly couldn’t have achieved what I have the past few years without you. To the rest of the cast, crew & production team… I love you all & I cant wait to get back on that DWTS floor with you again in 2021. Until then... I’m going back to bed. 💛 - @jarrydbyrne on Instagram
