Yesterday, I was watching Revolutionary Road, which seemed at first the film that will tell you, get out of that monotonous lifestyle dont live for the sake of just breathing, live like you meant it. dont merely survive, but live, really live. Well, it was. For a moment, it was telling that thing. It was urging you to get the hell out of monotony. Tell me, there are people who understands that theyre not living to their fullest potential. They realize one point or another, that theyre letting life pass them by while theyre just standing there like a bystander feeling hopeless. So one fine day, they decided, Thats It. No more giving up to the monotony. Ill sit in the drivers seat and Ill drive wherever I want to go. I will not give in to autopilot. This is good, isnt it? But tell me, when youre in a shared car in a really crowded area, where people just keep telling you how irrational it is of you to drive like you want. Even when you feel, well no, who cares! Its my life, Ill lead it as I want. The person sitting with you in suddenly convinced by the crowd. What do you do then? Ive seen films where people break the monotony and live like they have always wanted to. But what happens to the people who dont get to? Who comes this close to fulfilling their dreams, and suddenly change of plans, because hey! Too much traffic, they wont let our car go. What happens to the dreamers who have lost their dream in expectations? What happens who the drivers to have lost their cars to the traffic? Do they get a chance of revolution? Or Revolutionary Road just becomes another destinations name that is just stuck nowhere to go. Revolutionary Road tells about those, who tried but couldnt drive their own car because the traffic made them stuck. Dear Someone, I know its been too long. And Im alive. Still. The sunsets, still find a way to peep into my room. The tap water still sounds like a rhythm to the midnight gasps I take in the memory of everything that was once there in front of me. For fifty-something nights, I have a feeling etched inside my heart: a pang of pain, you know, the kind which almost chokes you to death. I feel, someone I love will walk away. I feel their eyes wont smile for me. I feel their lips wont call for my name anymore. I just feel. I do. There are so many sad souls in the world, I wonder if all of them had a home, will it be called a cemetery for the way their hearts left their eyes? I met this little boy of 6 years at a railway station who was waiting for his elder sister to pick him up. I sat beside him staring into nothingness and he offers me a small Parle-G biscuit. I take it and he waits for me to take a bite. As I bite the little gift of innocence his eyes smiled as if he won the world. After that, he gets up to leave and I ask him where is his sister. He hands me a photograph which had a very small boy feeding an older girl a Parle-G biscuit. “Didi ayengi ek din. Vo boli thi. Shayad bhul gayi”, he smiles, pointing at the girl. The photo was dated 4 years ago. At that moment, all I felt was his smile, still waiting with hope, for his Didi. And I dont know who was actually heartbroken among us. Lili Reinhart has explained why she waited to publicly come out as bisexual. The 24-year-old actress, best known for her role as Betty Cooper on Riverdale, came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, telling fans that she identifies as a “proud bisexual woman”. In a new interview with Jeffrey Masters for LGBTQ&A, a podcast produced by The Advocate magazine, Reinhart said she refrained from coming out as bisexual sooner because of the harmful stereotypes and assumptions that still surround the community. “I’ve wanted people to know that I am bisexual, but I’ve never felt that there was a right time to do it,” she admitted. “I was afraid of coming out. I didn’t want people to tell me that I was lying to get attention or something. And so I just kept my mouth shut. “I also I’ve told people in the past and they’ve told me, ‘Oh, it’s a phase.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, great, thanks.’ So that’s discouraging, obviously.” Reinhart said she attempted to come out as “nonchalantly as possible” because she doesn’t consider a person’s sexuality to be a “big deal,” adding: “The way I look at the world right now, I’m like, ‘Isn’t everyone bisexual?’ “So I didn’t really feel like this was any breaking news by any means.
