The day has come! So many feelings. I rarely like to speak openly about me. Everyone’s always “me me me”. I like “us” better over “me”, but I guess today’s my turn. I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I’ve been navigating both passions as best as I could, without a compass, with no blue print. I was very fortunate to meet a large number of people along the way, both in the design world and in the music world. Co-sailors if you would. Some of you have taught me something, some of you have taught me a lot. Some of you have opened doors, some of you have built walls. Regardless of what you did: thank you! I tried my best to transform these passions into “jobs”, if it’s even possible to consider them so. I wake up every morning and think about things that I actually do for a living. That’s a life bonus I’ll never take for granted. Being able to do what I love is incredible, especially during times that are so chaotic and absurd. I get to do a number of things that I really love and work with incredible artists and managers that I am lucky to call friends. One of these things, arguably the one that I consider the most personal ever and where I pour 100% of my heart and soul in, is called Rocket Pengwin. All of you know of Rocket Pengwin. It’s this crazy idea that I can make music that doesn’t fit in a box, that narrates a story of a Penguin that moved from Antarctica to New York City, that music and visuals go hand in hand and that there are no limits when you put Blink-182, Benny Benassi, Green Day, Gary Numan, The Beatles, Daft Punk, David La Chapelle, Spike Jonze, George Lucas, Wes Anderson, Lady Gaga, Taking Back Sunday, Steven Spielberg (just to name a very limited amount among a never-ending list) in a blender and spit out whatever you feel like spitting out. Today marks the day I release the first collective body of work, and it’s called Planet Earth. I say “I”, but in reality it’s “us”. It’s always about “us”. I would have never been able to do this without so many people that I’ll never thank enough.
