And sometimes even that was not enough to stop the harassment.⠀ 😅⠀ Then I remember:⠀ I AM MY OWN FREAKING BOSS. ⠀ I OWN MY OWN FREAKING COMPANY. ⠀ I CALL THE FREAKING SHOTS.⠀ 😎⠀ This year I have had the time to take a step back and re-asses my business, my goals, my values, and what exactly it means to be a Sarah Crost Photography couple.⠀ 🗒⠀ I am more than ready to do the work necessary to build the company that I have always wanted to work for. Good afternoon from me and my favorite plant - the watermelon peperomia!!! Isn’t she beautiful? 🍉 🌱 —- In all honesty, I find it hilarious how you guys assumed that I am THE PLANT LADY lol!!! When you message me pictures of your dead plants - I promise you I have close to no idea what on earth is happening. I can BARELY take care of my own. 😂 HOWEVER - there is one piece of advice I’d follow if you’re new to plants - and you kill them just like I always used to in the past! 😂 Judging by the DM-s you send me - you guys are also quite the plant killers. 😂 I suggest doing what I did: go to the plant nursery and ask for plants that all have the same watering schedule (1x a week or 1x in 2 weeks etc.) - so this way you have that one day that you know is watering day - and everyone follows the same schedule. Less headache, and almost (stress on the word ‘almost’) no drama. It was only after a year of having all my plants follow the same routine - that I added new guys to the family and got a little bit more adventurous. 🤪 —- What’s your favorite plant? - @eslimah on Instagram

The M/S Seaside ⁠was never really intended for puppy carrying. But once Sommer arrived, it simply proved to be the best bag inhouse to hold her for the small commutes. As a woman of African descent, who is the primary support system for a teenager, manages my own business, a variety of other work related projects, a partner and an arts practice. I needed a break!⁣ ⁣ Dont get me wrong, I am a MASTER at honoring my self and my spirit. But this quarantine forced not just me, but literally the entire world to slow its pace. This has given me invaluable time to nurture my home, connect with family and focus on my aspirations in a new way. It has also forced me to be on the computer waaaay more than I would like. I have so many zoom meetings these days as Yeye Teish says, I feel like a zoombie. So, being the Sh8peshifter I am, I shifted. I shifted my wellness and spiritual practices to fit my new reality. Whatever is required to center my joy, has been (re)prioritized and whatever doesnt serve me had to go!⁣ ⁣ Sometimes we get so caught up in doing things the old way that even when everything around us changes, we are still dragging the old us into our new reality. Let me remind you WE ARE NOT GOING BACK TO THE WAY THINGS WERE. We are only moving forward. In my 20s I worked every single one of my birthdays I wasn’t ready to celebrate just because I was a year older I wanted to WORK. I also never finished school it’s not that I wasn’t smart it’s that what was being taught I realised early on wasn’t what I needed to learn to put me in a position I knew I wanted to be in! I never knew any business owners I taught my self by watching interviews online of all the ceos and founders of every successful company! I was never to scared to attempt any business venture just because I would be starting at the bottom and I could fail! I knew I would fail over and over but each failure bought many lessons that I used to sharpen my tools! Поехали! Да, собеседование дома меня поставило в тупик, и на мой вопрос ну а как же, может я к вам в офис рабочий подъеду, мужчина ответил, что мол офис у него дома 😖 Работа была ну очень нужна! До конца месяца оставалось 10 дней, а осталось только $400! И чтобы вы понимали: кушать надо, на проезд надо, и еще много чего надо! И если даже прямо по минимуму тратить, то за комнату (а точнее, прихожую и койко-место на диване) нужно было платить через десять дней $550! Так что по всем подсчетам - не хватает! ⠀ Долго не думая, я снова позвонила тем девчонкам все-таки уточнить, а нормальный ли мужчина, и не пристает ли, и вообще, безопасно ли 😅 (деньги, конечно, нужны, но безопасность превыше всего и только нормальная легальная работа!) Девочки хоть и подтвердили, что ехать можно, для жизни безопасно, но все же сомнения мучались до самого конца. ⠀ Приехала на собеседование к середине дня. Улица была тихая, частный сектор, практически как показывают в Американских фильмах. Я позвонила и сказала, что я на месте. Мне сказали секунду. ⠀ Стою. Жду.... а сердце бьется так сильно (ну я, в принципе, всегда волнуюсь о новом, но в тот раз вдвойне).. И открывает мне ворота, которые ведут на задний двор и бассейн, мужичок средних лет (возможно, чуть старше моего папы), в каких то шортах и футболке (честно - не помню одежду), чуть ниже меня ростом. ⠀ Мы начинаем разговаривать по английски, и слышу я тут ... ⠀ ... А что я услышала - расскажу в следующем отрывке (обещаю, он будет быстрее, чем в этот раз). ⠀ Какие предположения? Что же я услышала?😅 ⠀ И знаете, что еще?
