#Repost @graceful_still ・・・ It’s Sunday!!!!! [Long caption ahead] Save for later!!!!!! ☟︎☟︎☟︎☟︎ If you’ve been following along you know it’s memory verse time. This week I’ll be diving into Matthew 22:37-40. Do I know these verses?! Yes! I honestly think most of us in the church do, but this has been on my mind lately. I keep asking myself this one question, “how well am I loving God and others?” Am I loving the Lord only with my emotions, or am I loving Him with my intellect as well? How well am I loving my neighbors (especially when they seem to get on that last nerve)? To love the Lord our God with all our heart (emotions and feelings), with our soul (entire being) and with our mind (our intellect and knowledge) is THE GREATEST command, but just like it is loving our neighbors as ourselves. This verse is so packed that I’m sure this graphic doesn’t do it enough justice, but I want to get you thinking about how well you’re loving the Lord, your neighbor, and yourself. And yes, you ought to love yourself, not in an idolizing, or prideful way, but you are to love yourself (which comes unnaturally to me because I equate loving myself with loving my body.... and fun fact... I’m not quite there yet.) With all that said I want to challenge you to ask yourself how well are you loving God and how well are you loving others? Lately my struggle has been loving people when they aren’t doing what’s right (whether by biblical standards or my own). It’s easy to love the people you get along with, but how well do we love when our buttons are pushed?! To that same regard, how well are we loving God? Do we love the idea of loving Him or do we actually love Him for Him? You can love the idea of loving God more than you actually love Him. So how well are you loving? . . . . Let’s spend some time with this one, because the ENTIRE LAW IS FULFILLED WITH THESE TWO COMMANDS. If you trace the root of any sin and ask yourself if love was involved the answer will most likely be no. Love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8) - @christiancreative on Instagram
