Whether sweet or not, boiled, steamed, grilled, charred! kernels or on the cob...I love them in all shapes, sizes and preparations. In soups, salads, sandwiches, nibbles, snacks, main course, sides, popped and puffed up, this versatile ingredient should always find some space in your pantry. Well I stock up on them a lot and keep using in a thousand different ways. Today, it rained and I relished one chargrilled on the cob and rubbed in that lime and chilli+rock salt. My first round of Glass Gem Corn has germinated and is growing nicely so here is a throwback to one of my favourite cobs from last year. There are a few main questions that get asked about Glass Gem Corn every time I post on it so here are the answers in advance: 🌿No, it is not GMO 🌿 Yes, it’s edible but you don’t eat it like you would Sweet Corn (well you could but I’ve tried and I wouldn’t recommend 😂) 🌿 Glass Gem can be used for Popcorn and Corn Flour or, of course, saving seeds 🙌🏼 I grow them to use for Popcorn 💚 - @urbanveggiepatch on Instagram
