NEW POST 🙌 - I’m sharing all the treatments I did in one place that helped me go from chronic 24/7 symptoms to 100% dizzy free days. It’s a long post, so if it’s difficult for you to read, I also have a YouTube video linked. . I remember in my 2 or 3rd office visit with Dr. Beh, I was less than a year into treatments and feeling better, but I was still having daily dizziness, brain fog, and light sensitivity. I asked him “do any of your patients ever feel 100% better. “All the time” is how he responded. It made me feel SO good. Because I felt like I was working so hard, but that I’d just never fully get there. After all, rarely did anyone in my support groups have a positive story about feeling totally normal back in the day. . Nothing happened overnight. I wish my expectations from trying meds and supplements would have been managed better. That I would have celebrated small wins, like no vertigo attacks, instead of focusing on my lingering symptoms. I wish I knew some things just wouldn’t work. And that no single treatment would be the miracle cure, but it was a combination of not giving up on treatments, a good neurologist, and time. Even now, I’ve had to shift some things and find new ways to manage through IVF and pregnancy. At the end of the day it’s still a chronic illness, BUT a lot of the things I do now are just a part of my lifestyle and don’t seem so burdensome like they did in the beginning. And to have normal days again is pure bliss - I never take them for granted. I just really want people out there to know this is possible. . One of the hardest things I find living with a chronic illness is not knowing when it will end 📆 life would be so much easier if we had an end date to work towards, days to cross off on the calendar and knowing that you will finally get to THE day where you can wave goodbye to your chronic illness. • To be perfectly honest when I think of the world “chronic”, I think of continuous, ongoing, never ending, non stop and forever. All negative words right?!🙅♀️ • So now I try and tell myself, my mind, body and soul that I am in full recovery mode. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get better, but at the same time knowing life isn’t a race. I’m on a path to becoming better, making life changes, adapting to the chronic life and finding ways to make life easier, being on a quest to improve my health and knowing that this is NOT my forever 💕 This is my present, my now, but I am determined this will not be for the rest of my life 😌 Many times I’ve had to explain to people what exactly chronic means, it’s not like getting the common cold 🤧 taking medication for it and being better in a week or two. For many people it’s a life long illness that comes in waves 〰️ of highs and lows, good times and bad times, things being manageable for awhile and then all of a sudden flaring up again. It’s ongoing exhausting and a full time job for us to constantly try and maintain some stability while being chronically ill. • How do you explain your chronic illness to others? There are times when I feel overwhelmed by all the challenges we face as a species. The abuse we inflict on animals, the natural world and each other. There is so much hope and there are certainly a multitude of people working tirelessly to push back the darkness with all their might.
