La división opositora ya no es entre partidos internamente sino entre quienes creen qué hay que jugar en todos los tableros (incluyendo una elección evidentemente no competitiva) y quienes piensan que sólo se debe congelar el juego, abstenerse y mantener la continuidad administrativa (aunque no se pronostique con eso provocar el cambio deseado) o, los más radicales, esperar a los Marines para que vengan a resolver un problema que los vzlanos no somos capaces de atender. En cada grupo hay personas que pertenecen a los diferentes partidos existentes y se unen ya no por su filiación partidista sino por su visión sobre la estrategia que debería seguirse para provocar el cambio, con lo cual los partidos pierden su capacidad de integrar a la oposición. Puedes o no estar de acuerdo con Capriles en su propuesta de participación, pero quienes creen que la estrategia adoptada estos veinte meses no ha funcionado y rechazan jugar la ere paralizada como respuesta, tienen el mismo derecho a intentar una acción de cambio. La falta de unidad es asunto de ambos no de uno sólo. Insisto en que votar o no votar en esta elección sesgada, sin unidad ni estrategia para defender los derechos ciudadanos es un dilema falso que conduce al mismo vacío. Pero la acción de votar es activa y puede pescar algo inesperado. La abstención pasiva sólo pesca un resfriado. Por su parte, plantear que la única solución al problema es una intervención extranjera, además de menospreciar la responsabilidad de trabajo y lucha interna, concluye que el problema es irresoluble, cuando el actor que podría intervenir dice que es un planteamiento surrealista. Lo que no entiendo es que se sorprendan de que la oposición, luego de mucho tiempo sin lograr su objetivo de cambio, se fracture ante la estrategia a seguir a futuro, sin tener un conjunto de reglas consensuadas que le sirvan para dirimir la disidencia natural del ser humano. Es absurdo llevar el debate a un plano simplista de buenos y malos en la oposición. Simplemente hay posiciones divergentes en un país que no logra producir el cambio deseado por 80% de la pob. Su pecado es no tener reglas comunes para decidir juntos. Pero es un pecado compartido. - @luisvleon on Instagram

As we all look back to what Pete meant to us, what he did for us, were also reminded of what he would be telling us during these difficult times, what would be his words of encouragement? My early career in the 90s shooting for Motoring News and LAT photographic saw me traveling back and forth to Didcot then Wantage shooting various projects, news stories, PR and the odd Christmas party for Williams GP engineering. They were always the friendliest team in the paddock putting a photographers bench out the back of the motor home and feeding us Breakie, Lunch and Dinner. There wasn’t much the Mechanics (Willyboys) and the rest of the team wouldn’t do for us. Sorry to see the family let go of the reins but what a run they had. He was a Great Song Writer, a 2 time Oscar winner for best songs 72 & 74, a Producer, Record exec. A brill building song writer, who came up in music bus in a very exciting time. Wrote songs for Jackie Wilson, Bobby Darin, etc..worked with Aretha, Neil Diamond scored the music for David Copperfield and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on Broadway etc... It was for a script that took me 3+ years to write, and I can say now that it has changed my life. I get very self-conscious about posting good news, but I’m trying to get better at that, and also trying to appreciate milestones in my life in the moment, for what they are, rather than only thinking about everything I still haven’t achieved. When I first met Stuart Cornfeld I was very intimated. I’d heard they’d based Les Grossman in “Tropic Thunder” on him. Well it was a quick let-down when I didn’t get any kind of explosive outburst. Over the years Stuart produced several projects with me and Dan Schimpf. I learned so much from him and felt lucky for every day we spent working together. He was not, to my surprise, even remotely like Les Grossman or any stereotype of what you might imagine a Hollywood producer to be. He, along with Ben Stiller, fostered an infectiously creative, comfortable and loving environment at Red Hour Productions. He deeply loved films and art and spent an incredible lifetime making some of my favorites. Unbelievably smart and as authentic as you could be. I’m sure he would’ve hated this message. So I’m sorry Stuart for any sap. But it’s true. He was a legend. Thank you. Love you. RIP. I dagens D2 har Kåre Bulie og jeg tatt turen til en gammel skolestue ved Krøderen for å besøke maleren Anders Kjær som fyller 80 år på torsdag. Mest kjent for sin «Uten tittel» utstilling i 1982. Etter den stormen som fulgte sendte Jakob Weidemann, som da må ha vært en av Norges største kunstner den gang, et brev til Kjær og støttet han og kalte kunstnerstanden for ballelause lakkskohorer. Men mesteparten av tiden har han malt norske landskaper, gjerne med veier. Han fikk meg til å høre på Neil Youngs On the beach og Pat Metheny Travels. Han har malt norske versjonen av road movies. Sir Christopher Frayling introduced Jimmy Page and publisher Tony Nourmand who spoke to the invited guests, family, friends and contributing photographers in the gallery’s main hall which was specially transformed for the night with unique artwork and images. Shoutout to creator/designer Nikola Salvi!! Although he didn’t get to see to the end of the creation of the Trevi in 1762, his designs mostly made it to the end product before he died in 1751. Salvi’s designs of the Trevi truly were the best-in all of Rome and the surrounding areas-as he was picked in a contest by Pope Clement XII of the best possible structure. Salvi oversaw the construction of the Trevi for 19 years until his death. Following his passing, Giuseppe Pannini, another exceptional artist, finished up Nikola’s work. However, the Trevi was so amazing that it had to wait for the perfect artist to complete it (it couldn’t settle for second best). Before Nikola’s work was chosen by Clement , Pope Urban VIII had chosen Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1629 to design a fountain, though the idea died out with Urban soon after. #trevifountain #bffsince1730 - @trevi.fountain on Instagram

Based on a Pushkin poem, the opera was released in 1842, and the action is settled in pagan Russia, the beautiful Ludmila is wooed by three admirers and eventually won, after a healthy dose of sorcery both good and evil, by the fair knight Ruslan. Yousuf Karsh (1908-2002) // was an American-Canadian photographer known for his portraits of notable individuals. He has been described as one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th century. An Armenian Genocide survivor, Karsh migrated to Canada as a refugee. By the 1930s he established himself as a significant photographer in Ottawa, where he lived most of his adult life, though he traveled extensively for work. His iconic 1941 photograph of Winston Churchill was a breakthrough point in his 60-year career, through which he took numerous photos of known political leaders, men and women of arts and sciences. Over 20 photos by Karsh appeared on the cover of Life magazine, until he retired in 1992. His 1941 photo of Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister, brought him prominence. The photo was taken on December 30, 1941 in the chamber of the Speaker of the House of Commons in the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa after Churchill delivered a speech on World War II to the Canadian members of the parliament. It was arranged by Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King. Churchill is particularly noted for his posture and facial expression, which have been compared to the wartime feelings that prevailed in the UK: persistence in the face of an all-conquering enemy. The photo session was short and, just before exposure, Karsh moved towards Churchill and removed the cigar which he had in his hand. Shanah Tovah! This means “Good year” in Hebrew to celebrate today, the first day Of the Jewish New Year called Rosh Hashanah. This is the start of the Jewish High Holy Days leading up to Yom Kippur the Day of Atonement, which is considered to be holiest day of the Jewish year. Today being the start of the Jewish month of “Tishri”, I personally will have the privilege to participate for the first time by praying by the Ocean, like Micah 7:19 teaches. The classic scripture explains “God takes us back in love, covers our iniquities and hurls all our sins in the sea!” I’ll take it and receive it Brethren. Since I have been on my own recent journey of atonement or the Hebrew term “Teshuvah”, due to my public interaction with the Jewish Community and re-education of Judaism. One of my guides and teachers through this process is a new and dear friend, Rabbi Motti whom I initially met in Crown Heights at 770 Eastern Parkway. This is the Synagogue and World Headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. After a healthy conversation about Life, Theology and Rabbinical Doctrine Rabbi Motti handed me this book. “REBBE: The Life Teachings Of MENACHEM M. SCHNEERSON, The Most Influential Rabbi In Modern History”. I cracked the book open and instantly learned the difference between the terms “Rabbi” and “Rebbe” that both derive from the Hebrew root. A “Rabbi” is a teacher of the Torah. “Rebbe” means highest Spiritual leader. And this renowned “Rebbe” took this Hasidic group that was almost completely annihilated due to the Holocaust and transformed it into one of the most influential movements in religious world. The book is written by another “Rabbi” by the name of Joseph Telushkin who’s Father was actually the accountant for the Rebbe and his father-in-law, the previous Rebbe. I know it can be a little confusing but it is quite intriguing. The book is 30 detailed and dense chapters, definitely not a quick read and definitely not your typical Biography. But clearly Rebbe was not a typical man, described as a genius, by the time he was 17 years old he had mastered the entire 5,894 pages of the Talmud! (Continued Below) - @nickcannon on Instagram

Very sad news about the death of pianist Leon Fleisher. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, he lost the use of his right hand so specialised in left hand repertoire for years until he regained the use of his right hand and could return to perform two handed repertoire. As a left hand pianist, I have always been hugely inspired by Fleisher and his wonderful recordings of my beloved repertoire. Você conhece os nossos maestros? • Luiz Lenzi é licenciado em música pela Furb – Universidade Regional de Blumenau (Santa Catarina) e Mestre em Educação pela mesma instituição. Sua pesquisa acadêmica se dá na área da Estética na perspectiva filosófica de Friedrich Schiller e Immanuel Kant, debatendo o conceito do belo na música e na concepção artística. Seus principais professores foram Osvaldo Colarusso (harmonia e análise – Brasil) e Markus Amgwerd (regência – Suíça). Atuou como regente da Orquestra de Câmara Municipal de Timbó de 2006 a 2016 e vem atuando como regente da Banda Municipal Professor João Müller (Timbó) desde 2002, regente assistente da Orquestra da Furb e Furb Jazz Band desde 2010. Lenzi atua ainda como coordenador do Projeto Pro-Música, bandas de música nas escolas municipais de Timbó, mantém intercâmbio com bandas da Alemanha e Itália, assim como colaborador e regente convidado nas associações PeruBandas e Pro-Bandas, em Lima, no Perú. Atua ainda como professor em cursos de Licenciatura em Música na Unoesc e Uniasselvi e regente convidado em bandas e orquestras.
