Yoga - eine meiner größten Leidenschaften habe ich in den letzten Monaten viel zu sehr vernachlässigt. 🙄 Durch Corona und die Schließung der Fitnessstudios habe ich meine Sportroutine in die heimischen vier Wände verlagert. Das klappt auch super gut, nur Yoga mache ich irgendwie doch lieber in größerer Runde und entsprechend habe ich es komplett links liegen lassen. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ich ärgere mich nicht darüber, sondern nehme es als gegeben hin. Dennoch merke ich einfach, dass mir die Mobilität und die innere Ruhe fehlen, die mir so viel Stabilität und Kraft geben. Ab Sonntag geht es deshalb für mich endlich wieder regelmäßig ins Studio und auf die Matte und ich freue mich extrem darauf! 🤗 Treibst du regelmäßig Sport und wenn ja, welchen? Was tust du für deine innere Balance? Bei mir ist es ein Mix aus Kraft und Kardio sowie (im besten Fall) Yoga und Pilates. This pose represents the hours upon hours upon hours of practice it took to be able to do this pose. It did not happen in an instant, and if it did, it would have probably resulted in injury.⁠ ⁠ Do I think this is a normal or even reasonable shape to put your body into? Not really.......I think it is possible to do it safely IF your bone structure allows. ⁠ ⁠ I can still do this pose today, but I dont practice it very regularly -- I may include it if I focus on hip openers in my practice and my body feels warmed up and ready. ⁠ ⁠ I love discovering what the human body is capable of, but am not willing to compromise my physical health in the pursuit.⁠ ⁠ It all comes down to mindfulness and discernment....⁠ ⁠ Are there poses like this in your practice? Air baby pose from 11 years ago. Developing confidence in this position can be quite helpful in learning the one arm handstand. It gives you some of the sensation of the one arm balance, but with a lower center of mass and an extra point of contact for support. I also find that the learning curve for this pose is much quicker than the OAH, as long as you understand how to align the shoulder and knee/elbow connection. 📷 @samgach A lot of people ask me, how long does it take to get _____ pose, or how long will it take me to learn _____? But I can’t ever know those things. @yogaalignment #Hanumanasana ↔️ #MonkeyPose might be accessible to some, but not others based on a lot of different factors. Read this entire caption, and save it for if you ever get down on yourself for being unable to perform a particular posture. Even if two people practice in the exact same way with the exact same schedule, their results will be different. Because every body is different. Different people have different histories and genetics and bone structures and injuries and fitness levels and mindsets. But people also don’t all practice in the same way, and there is not a single best approach and schedule that is ideal for everyone. What I have found from my journey is how important the process is relative to the results themselves. The journey is when you learn, get stronger, grow. And I have found that when you can truly love the process, the results come much more quickly. 😲So how do we get to where we want to be? ➡️Practice with mindfulness and intention. Know what youre trying to stretch/strengthen and move into it with proper engagement ➡️Move and mobilize the WHOLE BODY. Every part of our body is connected in some way. Tightness in the shoulder could affect the hips and vice versa. ➡️Stretch AND strengthen to make sure we are not creating instability in our joints ➡️Develop correct movement patterns by aligning your body in a way that works for you ➡️Listen to your bodys signals. Instead of taking things one step at a time, we try to expedite the process (trying to force ourselves into poses) to try to take 2 steps forward. This might just force us back a few steps or worse, create injury! ➡️WARM UP BEFORE PRACTICING YOGA! Welcome to week 4: #PressYourFlow . Happy rainy Friday! @jadebellyyoga and I are bringing you another fun and challenging flow - one pose in, one pose out! . This week we have #revolvedhalfmoon ➡ #stagpresshandstand ➡ #twistedlizard . #Stagpress is very similar to a split press, except I feel like its a bit easier on the hamstrings since you dont have to straighten the top leg 🤸🏼‍♀ I added a switch in #staglegs cause Im extra 🤣 . Swipe for my weak side (which is verrrry weak in this press lol). You can tell I dont work it enough. The block helps a ton to get hips higher for the press. . Swipe again for something Im going to start doing occasionally, now that my wrist is mostly healed. Im going to do a weekly long hold with straight legs (in whatever inversion we work each week) just to check in and see where I am. Oceans and dolphin pose🌊. Oh how I love oceans and seas and how it breaks my heart to see them polluted as much as they are. Not often enough do we hear about how much plastics pollute the oceans, how innocent animals that mistake it for food or get tangled in it die. And now all the underwater inhabitants face yet another threat - PPE that has not been disposed of well💔. I am absolutely supporting the wearing of face coverings and other PPE but please please please if you do have the chance (and only then), wear a face covering that is not for single use only. And if you wear surgical masks, please chop it after use or at least tear off the bands as birds and another animals get tangled in these. They starve to death. Alone and scared!💔 I added two photos of me wearing a mask - both suitable for washing! The first one I bought at the airport and the second one from a friend who handmade it. I know surgical masks might be more comfy but your comfort = some other creature’s death. Stay safe and healthy everyone 🌊💙🌿.
