- Took a couple friends to a local crag I’d never been to before. Spent 10 hours climbing. It’s only the second time I’ve ever been the leader of a climbing trip. It’s an extraordinary feeling captured pretty well in this moment as I’m teaching my friends how to set up a top rope anchor.

Some noteworthy moments from this weekend: getting dragged behind a horse while on an animal hide, eating spaghetti in a hot tub, and flashing this beautiful line, The Flu V8 (this thing seriously has tufa pinches, a knee bar, horizontal rails, AND an airy topout on shallow pockets). My trip out for the #JoesValleyFest was one of my favorite climbing trips yet, and the Fest is by far the coolest climbing event Ive attended (I mean, theres a copper jewelry clinic). Last weekend a crew of us, established in my humble opinion the most beautiful Oregon ocean highline! 240m long and 85m off the deck it provided some really amazing sights and sounds! The line was 8m off level ahhahsha it fucking sucked lol turns out 8m Is alot to be off level, but hey sometimes you gottah do you! Beyond grateful to have gotten this dream of a line up with such and amazing crew! Thankyou to everyone who came out & shared some moments of this life. The line was rigged on feather pro main with one connection 40m out or 200m out depending on the direction your journey & white magic backup:) Althea also lived her best dog life and had so much fun playing on the beach while saying hi to everyone on the beach 😂 & she slayed the swimming so hard. Bangers were laced, art was shared, pins where juggled, drinks where dranken, green plants where rolled into little plane type of jawns & people smoked them lol grateful for missions like this:) thankyou @coopykat for showing me the spot a year ago and for being our guide and helping us! Dreams are a tough thing somethings... the idea easily leads to great expectations and can distort your perspective of what you can actually accomplish! I usually perform very well in high stakes environments and deal well with knowing you only got a few minutes to achieve your goal. But with handstands it’s a different thing... I feel like I crumble under the self pressure I create, by demanding myself to perform! The amount of training I have put into this „single skill“ is beyond anything I have ever done and it is easy to loose track of your actual level of performance and get lost in your expectations. What you can do with ideal settings and what you can do 1000m above the ground are two different things! I kind of expect myself to not care about height anymore, but the Highline at the Eiger Pilz showed me again what fear is. It I a physical reaction, something beyond mind control. Even thought I really wanted to handstand my arms kept on giving in. My body being afraid of the position looking straight down the north wall ... I felt like a total beginner trying to stand up for the first time, with your body betraying your mind by just not following your orders and trying to avoid exposure by all means! It’s frustrating, but it’s ultimately what Highlining is about! Even though my expectations got crushed I am actually happy I felt REAL FEAR again!
