Marrowbone Lane Landscape Refurbishment Works. The site on Marrowbone lane was an empty tarmac space which was used as an impromptu car park for years and did not look very appealing for the many pedestrians passing every day. Dublin City Council Parks and Landscape Services took up the tarmac to daylight the soil underneath, allowing for greater permeability and reducing rainwater run-off. We created seat-walls and added some benches to allow people to rest when walking by. We planted 13 Birch and 1 Oak tree to help with carbon sequestration and we also planted over 10,000 pollination friendly herbaceous plants and ornamental grasses. Taken sometime between 1960 and 1962, a fair bit of what is seen in this photo is no longer standing. . The former Park Hotel/New Ontario, Studio 10 and more refently, the Dime, can be seen at the bottom center. Sadly, this building would be lost to fire in February 2019, tragically claiming one life. . The reminder of the neighborhood surrounding the ramp to the International Bridge would be razed from 2011 and last for the better part of the decade to make way for the new plaza. . A Simple Act Of Wonder Painted installation on grass 260m x 40m A Simple Act Of Wonder Is a public art installation and exhibition spanning across Brighton from @fabricagallery in the city centre to the suburbs of Moulsecoomb and Bevendean Co-commissioned with @brightonfestival The work celebrates connection, community and the act of storytelling. This is an aerial shot of part of three ginormous grass paintings that we installed in the centre of the community. This is The Runway, that celebrates the storytelling aspect of the installation. We found so many fascinating stories about the area & it’s residents (past and present) whilst we researched this project. This one we found so fascinating, and surreal we wanted to make a more literal translation, to bring it into the consciousness of current residents. In 1939, two local men spotted an aircraft that was in danger (it was lost and nearly out of fuel). So, they used their car and motorcycle headlights to direct the plane to make an emergency landing on this strip of grass, effectively saving the lives of the two men on board. Imagine this is surrounded by homes: one lady reportedly fainted with shock when she saw the aircraft land in front of her house! It stayed there for a few days before it was recovered. Whilst we were installing this part of the artwork we told the story to hundreds of local residents that had never heard it, we were brought copies of newspaper clippings by someone who knew the story, and we even met a man who remembers seeing the aeroplane during the few days it was ‘parked’ there, when he was a little boy. He actually now walks through the greens every day. This is a celebration of the wonderful stories all around us, some obvious and some lie just under the surface, waiting to open our hearts and minds. The grass has now grown out. Sloopbedrijven moeten er daarom omheen werken en uiteindelijk worden de huizen van de eigenwijze bewoners volledig omringd door parkeerplaatsen of wegen.⠀ ⠀ “Deze huizen spreken tot de Chinese verbeelding, omdat ze de strijd tussen David en Goliath vertegenwoordigen”, zegt Steve Hess, een universitair docent politieke wetenschappen aan de Transylvania University in de Amerikaanse staat Kentucky. We had a great time up at Texas Motorplex! Reset our E55 record with a 9.64 @144.2mph. Also cut a 1.386 60 which is the quickest Merc that we know of - still on the hunt for the #1 1/4 mile spot, but making some good headway so we should get there soon. Польша начала принимать первых политических беженцев из Беларуси и открыла путь для тех, кто чувствует себя в опасности из-за политических убеждений. Об этом в эфире RMF FM сказал заместитель главы МИД Польши Мартин Пшидач. Он напомнил, что в международном праве существует такая вещь как гуманитарная виза, а также предоставление убежища. «Но мы в то же время попросили наших консулов и пограничников о скорейшей выдаче виз в ситуации политической угрозы», — сказал Пшидач. «Есть разного рода просьбы, пока единичные, просьбы о пересечении границы без соответствующих документов. Мы такую тропу для тех, кто по политическим причинам убегает из своей страны, открыли, и она открыта для всех, кто чувствует угрозу» — пояснил заместитель минстра. Он подчеркнул, что это не является поощрением для выезда из Беларуси, а лишь гарантией на случай проблем. «Есть случаи, когда в последние дни лица просили о такой поддержке со стороны польского государства и такую поддержку получили», — сказал Пшидач, отвечая на вопрос, кто воспользовался правом на политическое убежище в Польше. - @moja.warszawa on Instagram
