Aquella idea mutó y finalmente salió adelante “Bowie”. Han pasado cuatro años y yo no soy la misma. Y esto es importante, porque mi visión del mundo, de las mujeres, de Marilyn no es la misma. Después de publicar “El Placer”, en reuniones con mi editora salieron varios posibles nombres, pero fue amor a primera vista cuando se volvió a mencionar Marilyn. Era el momento exacto, era cuando de verdad me quemaba por dentro. Y es que cuando se trabaja sobre la vida de otra persona te tiene que quemar por dentro. Sumergirme dentro de la piel y los huesos de Norma Jeane Baker ha sido lo más duro que he tenido que hacer hasta ahora. Comprender quién era, de dónde venía y lo que una sociedad ferozmente patriarcal hizo con ella. Una mujer tremendamente luchadora, inteligente, revolucionaria, generosa, vulnerable, cuya imagen fue vendida únicamente como objeto del deseo, borrada su capacidad ser para solo estar.
