Музейно-выставочный мемориальный проект «Юнгородок» представляет музей истории пермского моторостроения АО «ОДК-Пермские моторы». ⠀ Как отмечают авторы проекта, мы хотим рассказать об одном уникальном событии из истории нашего города периода войны — эта труд на оборонных заводах молодых рабочих - выпускников ремесленных училищ, которые эшелонами направлялись из разных городов страны в Пермь. Virtual Lecture Series What’s Your Style?: Understanding Regina’s Residential Architecture While some architects and designers might strive to keep the elements of the various architectural styles intact, many, including Regina’s firm of Storey and Van Egmond embraced and experimented with a more eclectic combination of styles. As we start out to become armchair architects, this certainly makes things complicated and challenging. The first two decades of the 20th century were unique in that there were architectural styles coming out of the US and Europe which were a departure from the austere and budget conscious first homes built here. Widely available magazines featured beautiful homes which local developers and home owners wanted to emulate. The railway and mechanization made it possible to order in detailed millwork and trim packages. This was a time of experimentation as architects tried new and historical styles. Very often it was was a combination of several styles that we now refer to as Eclectic stylings. Many people have remarked that my paintings display a fondness for tangled foregrounds, screens of foliage, and particularly for pendulous branches. They say, it looks Japanese. Experience at the lake, however, might teach them that such are typical of the wild Canadian woods; that vegetation obscured the view nearly everywhere, and that the tangle of growth is so thick that often an axe is needed to cut a way through. 🎨: Desembarque de D. Leopoldina - Debret, 1818. . . . Você sabia? Os arcos comemorativos, como os que foram erguidos por ocasião da chegada de D. Leopoldina ao Rio de Janeiro em 1817, e as varandas, especialmente construídas para as cerimônias de aclamação de D. João VI, D. Pedro I e D. Pedro II, são exemplares do que hoje se entende como arquitetura efêmera, que eram aparatos públicos, arquitetônicos e artísticos, erguidos como cenários urbanos em ocasiões festivas especiais, podendo ser também em forma de colunas e de pirâmides. De duração breve, esses monumentos seguiam o gosto estilístico da época e eram desmontados ao final dos festejos. A arquitetura efêmera teve um caráter eminentemente emblemático e simbólico. No caso brasileiro, esses monumentos faziam conjunto com com o restante da decoração urbana, que seguia a tradição lusitana de enfeitar janelas com tapeçarias orientais, iluminar as ruas com luminárias e fogos e recobrir o calçamento público com folhagens. Antoni Gaudí va acabar en els jutjats perquè als propietaris no els va agradar com havia quedat. Durante siglos San Cristóbal de La Habana fue una ciudad en disputa. España, a la cabeza de aquellos viajes que cambiaron para siempre la configuración del mundo, tuvo que hacer frente a grandes potencias como Francia, Holanda y Gran Bretaña. La Habana por su ubicación y funciones en el entramado de la Carrera de Indias, fue asediada y atacada en varias ocasiones. El objetivo de los enemigos de España era apoderarse por la fuerza de los codiciados galeones que trasladaban en sus bodegas valiosas cargas. De eso trata este libro: el siglo XVI, el de la fundación y consolidación, transcurrió entre amenazas, incendios, cañonazos, ataques y muertes. Armas, estrategias de navegación, defensa, fortificaciones y barcos, fueron puestos a prueba con intensidad. Sin embargo, se impuso la voluntad de los habaneros, inmunes a todas las adversidades y La Habana llego a ser Llave del Nuevo Mundo, Antemural de las Indias Occidentales. . Carlos Alberto Hernández Oliva es geólogo de profesión; fue fundador del Gabinete de Arqueología de la Oficina del Historiador de La Habana y dirigió su departamento de Arqueología. Ha compaginado el trabajo de campo, tanto en contextos subacuáticos como terrestres, además de investigar en numerosos centros documentales, como el Archivo General de Indias, Simancas, Históricos Nacionales de Cuba y España, Inglaterra, etc. . [MESNILMAUTEMPS] Et si on enrichissait notre collection d’affiches sur le meilleur arrondissement de Paris ? Passionné par les illustrations anciennes, le Londonien @PaulThurlby en a réalisé une dizaine, mettant en scène un Paris très rétro. Comptez 59 € pour celle sur Ménilmontant vendue en ce moment (comme bien d’autres) sur le site @sergeantpaper. On y voit un couple d’amoureux, place Fréhel, devant la fresque “du détective”, peinte par Jean Le Gac... qui se trouve en réalité à BELLEVILLE !!! #dommage On profite de cette occasion pour revenir sur le nom du quartier Ménilmontant, qui était jusqu’en 1860 une commune indépendante de Paris (on y venait pour ses guinguettes et son vin pas cher !). Le préfixe “Mesnil-” est un dérivé du latin “mansio”, qui désignait un gîte-relais situé le long d’une voie romaine. Tandis que le suffixe d’origine “-mautemps” venait d’une maison sur place surnommée “ la villa du mauvais temps”. C’est au 16ème siècle qu’il fut changer en “-montant” à cause de sa géographie à flanc de coteaux. There is something fascinating about architectural drawings. These, by Albert Conrad, are for Austral Stores in #Hindley Street, built in 1903. The Austral Stores had space for twelve shops and dwellings, including bakers, a tailor, a cabinetmaker and Conrads father Leopolds butchery. It was later known as Wests Coffee Palace.
