Do dreams really come true? Never say that dreams can’t come true. The choice is yours to make them happen or not! I posted these pictures 8 years ago today to my FB timeline while fulfilling just one more of my lifelong dreams of touring Spain on a motorcycle. That summer of 2012 I rode approximately 3000 km (1,865 mile) around the country on my now classic, fully loaded 1992 BMW K75S (info for the motorcycle enthusiasts out there). After an extremely scary and exhausting two hour ride from the city of Cadiz to the outrageously windy Tarifa in the eastern part of the province. I had always loved motorcycles and touring. This was the return leg of the trip from Cadiz to Barcelona that led me to discover new places, cuisine and personal experiences that just seem like a part of the fantastic journey! I could go on for paragraphs about all these things but that’s not exactly what this post is about, so I digress... Getting back to the original story... So I was living one dream and seeing another at the same time. This picture was taken at the lookout point from about 300 meters above sea level in Tarifa on the Spanish side of the strait of Gibraltar. I couldn’t believe that I was only 14,4 kilometers (7.2 nautical miles) from the African continent. Across the water I could see Mount (Jebel) Musa in Morocco. I was seeing for the first time a place that I had only dreamed of visiting with my late father. Less than 4 years after this picture was taken I have not only achieved the goal of visiting the continent but have traveled there several times and can’t wait for my next trip. Met some absolutely amazing people including kings and tribal leaders, philanthropists, business men and women who have inspired me to continue my travels and personal and professional interests on the African continent. All of this to say...don’t give up on your dreams! Live big! And remember...you’re nor dead yet!!! Here is my new Driftmotion Double Lockdown JZ Cam Sensor Seal :) The name is partially because I thought of the design while we are all on lockdown, and also because it addresses two common issues. It locks down oil from leaking past the sensor housing, and it also stops oil leaking through the inside of the sensor into the connector. If you have ever worked on an older JZ engine youve probably seen how much oil can leak out of the connector. The seals are made of Viton with a 400F working temperature. These will work with all versions of the JZ engine, and cost right around $12ea. This plan came together pretty slick! I wanted to add some stiffness to the rear brake without messing around with an additional spring on the brake pedal like on a normal setup. Pandemic nostalgia and positive thoughts. The dude who looks like a cop in this photo is a member of a Mexican govt service called Angeles Verdes. They patrol the Baja peninsula with auto repair, first aid, towing etc. they are a free service and on this ride we were hoping to encounter an Angel because it’s like running into a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, but for roadside assistance, anyway, the guy shaking the Angel’s hand, @llenrapkcin two things about him: first off this guy has consistently been there for me, had my back, listened to my worries, and made me laugh so hard I fell out of my chair. For instance, right before we took this photo, the Angel Verde was asking us to approach him and he used the Mexican version of the hand gesture for ‘come closer’ which is upside down from the US version. We were all so starstruck by the experience, flustered, Nick saw the dude gesturing that downward one-hand-clapping motion and he misunderstood it but wanted to be respectful so he started kneeling down on one knee like the guy was telling him to genuflect in his highway royalty presence, quite funny. The other thing is that Nick is currently working doubles managing a Trader Joe’s in the heart of New Orleans which is currently a covid hotspot. So this is just my way of asking everybody to please stay home, wear a mask and gloves if you’ve got them. Stay safe everyone! One month ago today I was in an accident in Death Valley, CA. I have no memory of what happened. My two riding companions @edluke7 and @conscious_kent were behind me by a mile or so. @Edluke7 told me I was navigating a tight corner with a rise and there was some sand on the road. I have wondered if maybe there was an on coming car maybe somewhat crossing the double yellow lines, or maybe a coyote on the road or something else that caught me off-guard. I guess Ill never know as I have no recollection whatsoever of anything until I awoke with intense pain in UMC hospital in Las Vegas. My helmet 100% saved my life. It is very beat up. I was in fully armoured riding jacket, pants, boots and gloves. I ended up with a concussion, both broken scapulas, several fractured vertebrae, a broken left clavicle, six broken ribs, damage to a kidney and my spleen, damage to my left brachial plexus ...(the bundle of nerves near the clavicle) and a nerve pulled out of the bundle going up the spine at C-7. After about 4 or 5 days in Vegas, I was transported to a hospital near my home in Northern Utah. My spleen then began to bleed out which required a rushed emergency splenectomy in order to save my life. After two weeks hospital stay I was released earlier than expected to get my compromised lungs away from Covid19 which had just arrived at that hospital. Obviously there were NO visitors allowed at the hospital and none at my house as I heal up these lungs. The nerve damage has left me with a paralyzed but painful left arm, full recovery of the arm is hopeful in up to 24 months. Why do I post this? Simply to help you all to remember to RIDE SAFE. Ive ridden bikes my entire life. I usually log about 20k miles per year. I like to think Im pretty defensive and heads up, but I was involved in a single vehicle accident that was very likely my own fault. I want everyone who loves to ride to continue to ride and be reminded of the potential dangers. This is just another loving BE CAREFUL to all you like-minded people who love the freedom and adventure of seeing this beautiful world from your bike, there is nothing like it and only those of us who have done it get it. - @ridermarsh on Instagram

A few people have asked us about the modifications we can carry out to an #Audi #7A #5cyl #5zyl #20v cylinder head to convert it for use in a turbocharged application for an #AudiS2, #AudiRS2, #audiurs4, #audiurs6 or #urquattro. Firstly we drill & tap the mounting holes and mill the water ports into the intake side of the head to prepare for the turbo water manifold. The ports are chamfered to aid install without damaging the fragile o-rings. Next a shallow pocket is milled into the front face of the head to receive a machined boss with the locating dowel and mounting holes for the cam/sync sensor. The boss is fixed using M4 socket cap screws and sealed in place with high temperature RTV sealant.
